Here is the Need For Speed Unbound Catch My Drift trophy guide where we will help you get 3 stars on all Drift Zone activities. There are 35 Drift Zones you need to 3 star throughout Lakeshore which can only be completed in certain types of cars: Drifters. In your garage you will see that every car has a bar on the right of the screen with left being for grip and the right side being for drift. You need to equip parts on your car that allow you to tune your car to move the slider as far to the right as possible.

Every car in Need For Speed Unbound can drift, however, only specially tuned cars will stand a chance of getting close to the 3 star targets. I chose the Nissan Silvia Spec.R Aero (2002) which can be bought after you complete the 2nd qualifier in the story by going: Safehouse / Garage> Buy and Sell> Tab right to Buy Custom then choose the Nissan Silvia Spec.R Aero (2002) which can be bought for $150,000 which sounds steep but it is set up for drifting from the get go and to customise a car to get close to its capabilities will cost you in excess of $200,000.

I kept the car stock parts wise, however, I did change the handling setup to make the car a lot easier to control in the drift. I moved the grip / drift slider to 90% drift then changed both the Steering Sensitivity and the Downforce 2 notches to the right to give the car better cornering and enough control to maintain drifts. In order to drift a car you need to build up some speed then for a left handed corner, angle over to the right, tap the handbrake as you turn in then back on the power controlling the drift with opposite lock (steer the opposite way to where the car is going) controlling the back end of the car so it doesn’t spin out. It may well take you a good few attempts to learn how to drift a vehicle in NFS Unbound but you will get there with practice. 

One thing that may well help you out and can be the difference between a 2 or a 3 star drift distance is learning how to snake which is done by drifting across the road from left to right on a straight which can only be done well if there is no traffic and may well get you an additional 30 / 50 yards of drift distance rather than just speeding down the straight to the corner just keep that time limit in mind. In order to score 3 stars on a drift zone you will need to navigate your way along a road / series of roads drifting your way through a series of checkpoints whilst ensuring you keep an eye on the time limit as if you exceed the timer, your score will be scrubbed and you will need to start again.

You do get an infinite amount of attempts for each of the 35 Drift Zones so take the time to learn each one avoiding the traffic as best as you can as a crash means you simply won’t have time to recover. I will do my best to explain each of the drifts throughout this guide although you will have a much easier time of it practising yourself and watching the video above as drifting is a skill you need to learn as you go.

Once you have successfully 3 starred all 35 Drift Zones, you will earn the 600LT ’18 as a reward.
