Here is the Black Myth Wukong Tiger Vanguard (King) boss guide which will help you defeat this very powerful Tiger who is gorging himself on blood and rats before trying to get a taste of Monkey brain. This fight is a brick wall for many and for good reason.

Location: Yellow Wind Ridge, Crouching Tiger Temple, Temple Entrance.

The Tiger Vanguard boss is a very challenging one and can be a brick wall for a good number of players unless you take the time to learn everything about the boss’s moves and skillsets as well as bring a fairly high amount of skill along as well. Spend a good few hours levelling up if you need to as you should naturally get better with your timings as well as be able to get a good number of Sparks you can use to upgrade your Spells and abilities.

For the most part in the game bosses in Black Myth Wukong either hit hard and are slow moving, fast and have low defence or have readable moves, the Tiger Vanguard is so tough as he is fast, has delayed combos and hits luck a truck with nearly every move he does meaning you can easily be sent back to a Shrine after 1 or 2 hits especially if he connects the charged sword attack which can strip 2 thirds of your health in one swift move.

From the start of the fight the Tiger will come at you with a variety of attacks including hard hitting punches with delayed hits which can combo into hard hitting jump attacks designed to ruin your day so dodge at the last second before the hit, not just when he jumps otherwise you will take a hard right hook to the face.

Cloud Step can be very useful against the Tiger as it gives you a few seconds to heal then unleash a powerful kick to stagger the Vanguard, then get either a jumping hit or try for a full combo if you have the time. The Wandering Wight Spirit can be invaluable here with the extra 20 defence points so Immobilize, get a few hits in, use the Wandering Wight then continue the combo as the Vanguard recovers.

When the Tiger pulls his sword out it’s time to go on the defence as the combo can shred you back to the Shrine with little to no warning and the last hit of the combo will also have a delayed horizontal attack that can cripple you so dodge right as he swings to avoid the hit then punish from behind which will usually result in the Tiger turning to stone, going over to another part of the arena then pummelling you with a heavy hitting punch.

Like I have said throughout this guide, this fight is tough so don’t worry if you struggle taking the Tiger Vanguar down, it is designed to be a difficult fight so level up, learn the attack patterns, increase your Health and Mana then continue until you manage to put this ferocious Kitty down.
