In Doom the Dark Ages you play as the Slayer, a Demon wrecking beast of a man fuelled by rage, a throwable shield and an arsenal of weapons that would humble any nation on Earth with everything from Shotguns to energy Assault Rifles, Miniguns, a very nice gun that crunches the skulls of your enemies then fires them back at your adversaries and the BFC which is essentially a one shot nuke fired from a Crossbow. There are plenty of upgrades, enhancements and difficulty options to be played with and you can unlock Trophy Master on the simplest difficulty which is nice to see and it also makes the Platinum a lot more accessible for those who require assistance as on the harder difficulties the challenge can become nigh on impossible.

When you first start Doom the Dark Ages I recommend loading up campaign, choosing your difficulty then start learning the various mechanics if you’re new to the franchise. If you’re proficient at Doom then you’ll know what to do here, for those who are new then you essentially need to find Keys or Keycards to progress as well as secret keys to unlock hidden areas. There are also a good amount of collectibles to find but as all of these are marked on the map it makes unlock Trophy Master all the easier. As you work your way through the game you will unlock the following trophies:

Along the way there are several other trophies you can acquire but with the credits rolled it’s now time to go through Chapter select if you did miss any collectibles and unlock:

With the above trophies unlocked you will be well on your way to unlocking all of the Demonic Essence upgrades, if you haven’t unlocked them all, go through chapter select then work towards unlocking:

You can now work towards unlocking any remaining upgrades you may have left, some of which you will more than likely have done by the end of the campaign anyway but just in case, go back unlock:

Now the final push, you will be more than equipped to work towards and unlock:
