Location: The Webbed Ridge, Webbed Hollow, The Gathering Cave.
Rewards: x3,410 XP, x2,568 Will, Refined Iron Sand, Spider Leg, x2 Fine Gold Thread, Gold Tree Core.
The Violet Spider can be found in the cavern from the, The Gathering Cave shrine and can be a troublesome boss to take down as she will easily web you in place so Cloud Step is almost essential here in order to create some safe distance. You will also have the usual attacks which come from a Spider of this size such as pouncing, clawing, stabbing and thrusting most of which you can avoid by dodging backwards twice if needs be. Dodge to the side where possible then counter with some heavy attacks as she tries to recover and re-lock on to you.
After a while in the fight the Spider will web the entire floor where, if you dodge and roll you will be webbed in place then the more you struggle the more stuck you will become so use a Transformation immediately as she webs the entire arena to essentially sacrifice your Transformed state otherwise the Violet Spider can combo you back to the shrine with ease as you sit there struggling to get free.
Ensure you Immobilize before sacrificing a charged heavy as the Spider can easily dodge out of the way leaving you hitting nothing but the floor then keep the pressure on whilst avoiding as many attacks as you can until you have brought the Violet Spider down. After the fight get ready for an ocean of Spiders to chase you down. You won’t be able to damage the Spiders so just sprint out of the cavern and up the hill where you will then be taken up to the Temple of Yellow Flowers during the impending cutscene.
