Location: The Webbed Ridge, Temple of Yellow Flowers, Court of Illumination.
Rewards: x2,274 XP, x1,963 Will, Gold Tree Core.
The Venom Daoist boss can be fought for the second time (refer to the Venom Daoist boss guide if you missed him earlier in the game) in the Court of Illumination region and can be found by facing the shrine then turn around and run forward up the stairs before taking a left down the slope and into a cavern where the Daoist will be waiting for you and this is a 1 and a half phase boss fight which is fairly simply mechanic wise compared to some of the other bosses you can fight in Chapter 4.
You will need to avoid the slashes and swipes as well as staying back from the combination attacks he does, initially you will need to take his health bar below 50% where he then recharges his health back to max and gains a bit more speed and power. Make good use of spells such as Immobilize and Cloud Step then Transform if the fight does become challenging. For me I used Smash Stance throughout the fight as once you learn the timings of when to dodge the double slashes and the thrust attacks the fight becomes a lot easier. Keep the pressure on until he’s down.
Once the Venom Daoist has been defeated for the second time you will then get a short cutscene revealing a picture on the cavern wall which you can interact with to take you through to the secret area of The Webbed Ridge, Purple Cloud Mountain.
