If you wish not to be spoiled, play through the game yourself and then come back to read this guide. Your first playthrough will be focused on achieving all the endings required for Perfect Crime. This trophy is highly missable, and it requires specific decisions from the beginning of the game. While you do this, you can also unlock many chapter-specific trophies. Stage 2: Partial Playthrough / All Endings
This section will have you replay the final chapters quite a few times, in order to achieve all 17 endings. Using the Playthrough Order section, you can minimize this section to seven partial playthroughs. You can also grab some more chapter-specific trophies during this section. Once you complete all 17 endings, you will unlock All Endings.
Stage 3: Chapter Select Trophies
This section will be quite quick if you earned the majority of chapter-specific trophies within your first playthrough. Most of these trophies were either avoided to achieve Perfect Crime, or because you had to choose between two choices. If you’ve been following the walkthrough correctly, none of these trophies will be missed and you can pop into chapters to quickly earn them.
Playthrough Order / Miscellaneous Trophies
Before You Start:
- Trophies will only unlock during in-between chapter loading screens, when you see the character’s face against a black background. Do not worry if trophies don’t immediately pop.
- Using the below walkthrough, you will only need one whole playthrough, and seven partial playthroughs.
- All trophies marked as missable are determined as missable if you can theoretically mess up so badly that the trophy cannot be earned in chapter replay. If you kill off a character, that choice will be kept during all future chapter replays. If you follow the walkthrough below you won’t make any of these mistakes.
Playthrough 1: Perfect Crime Ending + Miscellaneous Trophies
Your first playthrough will have you achieving the Perfect Crime endings, along with earning the majority of chapter-specific trophies. You will complete the majority of the Trial Master and Nerd trophies, so you can finish them quickly in a later partial playthrough.
- Prologue:
- Happy Birthday – Unlocked for completing your drawing in your office, setting the table, and playing with your children.
- The Mall:
- Interactive Drama – Unlocked for completing the chapter.
- Father and Son:
- Good Father – Unlocked for following Shaun’s schedule.
- Sleazy Place:
- Private Eye – Convince Lauren to talk about her son.
- White Knight – Beat up the man who forces his way into Lauren’s room.
- Crime Scene:
- FBI Investigator, Nerd [1/4] – Investigate the crime scene and find all evidence.
- The Shrink:
There are no trophy-related decisions in this chapter. - The Park:
- Good Friends – Play on two playground rides and buy candy for Shaun.
- Where’s Shaun?:
There are no trophy-related decisions in this chapter. - Welcome, Norman!:
- Got To Remember! – Answer the three questions accurately about Shaun’s disappearance.
- Hassan’s Shop:
- Perfect Crime – During this chapter, Hassan’s store will be robbed. Do not interfere with the robbery and Hassan will be shot. Hassan dying is one of the conditions to this trophy.
- Sleepless Night:
There are no trophy-related decisions in this chapter. - Paparazzi:
- VIP – Go through the back door and jump the fence to evade the journalists outside your home.
- Lexington Station:
- Agoraphobia – During the frozen-time section, bump into 50 people and cause them to fall over.
- Lucky Locker – Open the correct locker on your first try. You are looking for Line 18 – Locker 3.
- The Motel:
There are no trophy-related decisions in this chapter. - Kick Off Meeting:
There are no trophy-related decisions in this chapter. - Nathaniel:
- Blunder or Self Control – During this chapter, Nathaniel will pull a gun on you. Blunder is unlocked for shooting him and Self Control is unlocked for persuading him to put the gun down. Pick whichever option you’d like and you can pick the other later using chapter select.
- Suicide Baby:
- Baby Master – Fail no QTEs when taking care of the baby.
- The Bear:
- Good Driver + Trial Master [1/5] + Kamikaze – Good Driver is unlocked for not failing the section where you barrel down a highway. If you fail too many QTEs, you will miss this trophy. Completing this section also contributes to Trial Master. Kamikaze is unlocked for taking the “best route” in this section. You will be given many choices of direction, so check that trophy out to find the correct route.

- Cat & Mouse – Beat Miroslav Korda in a fistfight, it will be your standard QTE fight.
- A Visitor:
There are no trophy-related decisions in this chapter. - Kramer’s Party:
- Tough Guy – Complete all the QTEs during the fistfight with Kramer’s guards.
- The Butterfly:
- Electrified + Trial Master [2/5] – Complete the Butterfly Trial without failing.
- The Nursel:
There are no trophy-related decisions in this chapter. - Police News:
There are no trophy-related decisions in this chapter. - Shrink and Punches:
- The Golf Club:
There are no trophy-related decisions in this chapter. - The Lizard:
- Gold Finger or Butcher – This trial will have Ethan cut off his own finger. You can either do this the clean way or the painful way. Gold Finger is unlocked for doing it the clean way and Butcher is unlocked for doing it he painful way. You can unlock the other trophy using chapter select at a later time.
- Trial Master [3/5] – Unlocked for completing the Lizard Trial.
- Fugitive:
- Perfect Crime + Hands Up! – Get yourself arrested while trying to escape. This ties into the Perfect Crime playthrough.
- Under Arrest:
This is the first part of the Under Arrest chapter, and for now, there are no trophy-related decisions. After you complete the next chapter, Jayden Blues, you will re-enter this chapter. Do not worry about anything right now and continue to the next chapter. - Jayden Blues:
- Ludwig Von – Unlocked for successfully hitting every QTE while playing the piano.
- Under Arrest:
- Wise Guy – Go into the Interrogation Room and turn the camera off before letting Ethan escape.
- Manfred:
- Perfect Crime – Clean all your fingerprints from Manfred’s shop. Check out the checklist of things you need to clean up since this is easy to fail.
- The Shark:
- I’m a Killer… + Trial Master [4/5] – You will get into a gunfight in this chapter, and at the end, you can either choose to kill or spare the man. You must choose to kill him to complete the trial.
- The Doc:
WARNING: Madison can die during this chapter. Make sure she stays alive by completing the QTEs as presented.- Smart Girl – Accept the doctor’s drink but don’t actually drink it.
- Queen of Ropes – During this chapter, the doctor will tie down Madison to a table. Once he goes to check the doorbell, hit every QTE to escape the ropes.
- Mad Jack:
WARNING: Norman can die during this chapter. Make sure he stays alive by completing the QTEs as presented. There will be a cutscene of Jack throwing Norman into a crusher, but don’t worry, this isn’t a death scene if you complete the QTEs.- Nerd [2/4] – Find all the clues within the crime scene.
- Goodbye Mad Jack – Beat Jack in both fights. It is possible to only engage in the first fight and leave before the second fight, which does not unlock this trophy. Click on the trophy for more details.
- Eureka:
- The Chef – Prepare an omelette correctly.
- The Cemetery:
There are no trophy-related decisions in this chapter. - The Twins:
- I’m not Scared! – Complete all the QTEs perfectly while chasing your brother.
- Flowers on the Grave:
There are no trophy-related decisions in this chapter. - Sexy Girl:
- Pride Saved – During the striptease, only unbutton your shirt before attacking Paco.
- Fish Tank:
- Perfect Crime – The Origami Killer will attack Norman here. Fail the QTEs and let him die.
- If you are wondering about Nerd, you will redo this chapter later in a partial playthrough, and continue with that trophy.
- Perfect Crime – The Origami Killer will attack Norman here. Fail the QTEs and let him die.
- On the Loose:
- Lover Boy – Choose to kiss Madison. After some cutscenes, she will reveal a secret, and you must forgive her.
- Perfect Crime – Have Ethan get arrested by the police. Fail the QTEs and they will take him in. This will keep Ethan incarcerated for the rest of the game.
If you’re wondering about Trial Master, you will redo this chapter later in a partial playthrough, and continue with that trophy.
- Trapped:
- Perfect Crime – Leave Lauren and escape the car by yourself. Complete the QTEs to leave the vehicle but you must leave Lauren behind.
- Face to Face:
- Invincible Scott – Complete all the QTEs perfectly to not take any damage.
- Perfect Crime – When Kramer starts to have a heart attack, do not retrieve his pills, and leave out the door.
- Ann Sheppard:

- Perfect Crime – You will find Scott’s secret room, and once you try to leave, he will lock you into it. Do not attempt to escape the room. Wait five minutes and let Madison suffocate and die.

This chapter will be a series of cutscenes, and HEAVY RAIN™ Hero + Perfect Crime will unlock.

Partial Playthrough 1: Save Shaun As Madison
Start this partial playthrough during the “Killer’s Place” chapter. As a reminder: Norman is dead, Ethan is imprisoned, and Madison is still free to this point. You will resume as Madison walking up to the killer’s room. You can choose either No Save or Save when starting this.
- Killer’s Place:
WARNING: Madison can die during this chapter. Make sure she stays alive by escaping the hidden room and the fire.- Cold as Ice – Escape the hidden room when the killer locks you in. Navigate through the fire and go towards the kitchen. Lock yourself in the fridge.
- The Old Warehouse:
WARNING: Madison can die during this chapter. Make sure you complete the QTEs correctly so the killer doesn’t kill her.- Simple Mind – During this chapter, you will get into a fight with the killer. During this fight, the killer will start dangling off a ledge and you have the choice to save him or not. Choose to save him for this trophy.
- Saved the Kid – Save Shaun by completing the majority of QTEs and not dying.
- Endings completed during this playthrough: Innocent, Heroine, Origami’s Grave.

Partial Playthrough 2: Ethan, Madison And Norman Save Shaun
Start this partial playthrough during the “Fish Tank” chapter. As a reminder: Ethan is still on the run, and both Norman and Madison are still alive. This playthrough will have you finish the Nerd and Trial Master trophies you half-completed in Playthrough 1. Make sure to select Save when selecting the chapter, since you will be altering the story and entering new chapters.
- Fish Tank:
WARNING: Norman can die during this chapter. Make sure he stays alive by completing the QTEs as presented.- Nerd [3/4] – After the fight with the killer, find all the clues at the crime scene.
- On the Loose:
WARNING: Ethan can be captured by the police during this chapter. Make sure to follow the below trophy and make sure Ethan is not captured.- Escape Master – Kiss Madison, and forgive her once she reveals her secret. Forgiving her is required for the A New Life ending. When she notices the police, use the phone to call Ethan’s room (207) and escape.
- Trapped:
WARNING: Lauren can die here; you must keep her alive by following the trophy below.- Swimming Instructor – Save Lauren by undoing her hand wraps before you smash the window open.
- Face to Face:
- Kind Hearted – Complete the majority of QTEs to make it to Kramer’s office. Once he starts to have a heart attack, retrieve his pills.
- Ann Sheppard:
There are no trophy-related decisions in this chapter. - The Rat:
- Sacrifice + Trial Master [5/5] – Drink the poison to complete the final trial.
- Solving the Puzzle:
WARNING: Norman can die during this chapter. Make sure he doesn’t die by completing your investigation in under ten minutes.- Nerd [4/4] – Analyze a few clues picked up from prior investigations.
- Goodbye Lauren:
There are no trophy-related decisions in this chapter. - Hold My Hand:

WARNING: Ethan, Madison, and Norman can all die during this chapter. Hit the QTEs as presented for them to all stay alive.- Four Heroes – As the warning above says, hit the QTEs correctly and none of the characters will die, unlocking this trophy.

Partial Playthrough 3: Ethan And Norman Die, Madison Is Arrested And Lauren Kills Scott
Start this partial playthrough during the “The Old Warehouse” chapter. Ethan, Madison, Norman, and Lauren will still be alive. Your goal in this playthrough will be to have all the playable protagonists die during this final chapter. You can select either Save or No Save.
- The Old Warehouse
- So Close… – Save Shaun as Ethan, but then fail every QTE to have Norman die, Madison arrested by police, and then Ethan killed.
- Endings completed during this playthrough: Ethan’s Grave, A Mother’s Revenge.

Partial Playthrough 4: Norman And Madison Fail To Figure Out The Warehouse Location, Ethan Dies
Start this partial playthrough during the “Solving the Puzzle” chapter. Everybody will still be alive. Your goal this playthrough is for Norman and Madison to both not figure out the location to the warehouse, and subsequently, Ethan will die. Select Save when starting the chapter.
- Solving the Puzzle:
WARNING: Norman can die during this chapter if you take too long during the investigation. This will be easy to avoid here.- As soon as you enter ARI to start the investigation, press Cross to close ARI. Choose to give up the investigation.
- Goodbye Lauren:
There are no trophy-related decisions in this chapter. - Hold My Hand:
There are no trophy-related decisions in this chapter. - Origami Killer:
There are no trophy-related decisions in this chapter. - Killer’s Place:
WARNING: Madison can die during this chapter. Make sure she stays alive by escaping the hidden room and the fire.- When Madison starts entering passwords on the laptop, fail four times and make sure NOT to try “Max”. The killer will then arrive and Madison will not know the address. Make sure to escape and stay alive by hiding inside the fridge.
- The Old Warehouse:
- Ethan will arrive alone at the warehouse. Save Shaun. None of the choices you make in this chapter matter; the police will always kill Ethan.
- Endings completed during this playthrough: Square One, Resignation.

Partial Playthrough 5: Ethan And Norman Don't Find The Warehouse, Madison Dies At The Warehouse
Start this partial playthrough during the “The Rat” chapter. Everybody will still be alive. Your goal this playthrough is to have both Ethan and Norman not figure out the location of the warehouse, and Madison to make it to the warehouse but die. Save when you start the chapter.
- The Rat:
- Choose not to drink the poison. Walk back the door you came from and choose to leave. Ethan will try to guess the address, either ending in Lane, Parc, or Road. Pick either Lane or Parc, which will send Ethan to the wrong address.
- Solving the Puzzle:
WARNING: Norman can die during this chapter if you take too long during the investigation. This will be easy to avoid here.- As soon as you enter ARI to start the investigation, press Cross to close ARI. Choose to give up the investigation.
- Goodbye Lauren:
There are no trophy-related decisions in this chapter. - Hold My Hand:
There are no trophy-related decisions in this chapter. - Origami Killer:
There are no trophy-related decisions in this chapter. - Killer’s Place:
WARNING: Madison can die during this chapter. Make sure she stays alive by escaping the hidden room and the fire.- Make sure Madison finds out the address of the warehouse, and survives the chapter. When she has the choice to call either Ethan or Norman, choose to call neither, and go alone.
- The Old Warehouse:
- When the killer confronts Madison, fail every QTE and let her die. This will also kill Shaun.
- Endings completed during this playthrough: Origami Blues, Smoking Mirror.

Partial Playthrough 6: Madison Saves Shaun But Dies
Start this partial playthrough during the “The Old Warehouse” chapter. This will be the same as the last playthrough, but this time Madison is able to save Shaun, and then die afterwards. You can select either Save or No Save.
- The Old Warehouse:
- When the confronts Madison, complete all the QTEs successfully. You will knock out the killer and you can save Shaun.
- When the killer wakes up and attacks Madison, fail every QTE and let her die. Shaun will escape.
- Endings completed during this playthrough: A New Start.

Partial Playthrough 7: Nobody Finds The Warehouse, Everybody Survives Except Shaun
Start this partial playthrough during the “Killer’s Place” chapter. At this point in the story, both Ethan and Norman have failed to find the location, and Madison is attempting to find the address. You will have her fail, but have everybody survive. You can choose either Save or No Save.
- Killer’s Place:
WARNING: Madison can die during this chapter. Make sure she stays alive by escaping the hidden room and the fire.- When Madison starts entering passwords on the laptop, fail four times and make sure NOT to try “Max”. The killer will then arrive and Madison will not know the address. Make sure to escape and stay alive by hiding inside the fridge.
- The Old Warehouse:
- All Endings – This chapter will just be a cutscene, but this trophy should unlock after all the ending cutscenes if you’ve been following the walkthrough up to this point.
- Endings completed during this playthrough: Tears in the Rain.

Chapter Select: Miscellaneous Trophies
At this point, all the trophies you will have left are miscellaneous tasks during chapters that couldn’t fit into any playthrough. Go into chapter select and do these in any order you please. Click on the individual trophies for more in-depth explanations.
- Negotiator in “Hassan’s Shop”, persuade the robber to leave.
- Blunder or Self Control in “Nathaniel”, either shoot or spare Nathaniel, choose whatever trophy you didn’t earn already.
- Coward! in “The Butterfly”, quit and fail the trial early.
- Good Cop or Bad Cop in “Shrink and Punches”, either stop Blake from punching him or don’t, pick the one you don’t have.
- Gold Finger or Butcher in “The Lizard”, pick whatever option you didn’t choose the first time.
- Fugitive AND THEN Detox in “Fugitive” and then “Jayden Blues”. This one is a little complicated. You need to replay Fugitive and evade capture, and then play through to the next chapter, Jayden Blues. This will make the Detox trophy available since you were caught in your first playthrough and never came across the option.
- I’m not a Killer! in “The Shark”, choose not to kill the drug dealer at the end.
- Unforgivable in “On the Loose”, kiss Madison but choose not to forgive her when she reveals her secret.
- Clever Dad in “The Rat”, choose not to drink the poison and correctly figure out Shaun’s location, Theodore Roosevelt Road. This trophy requires you to play all the way through “Killer’s Place”, so perhaps fail the investigation as Norman and kill Madison to speed this up.

You will firstly need to unlock the other 56 trophies throughout Heavy Rain which will then unlock HEAVY RAIN™ Master.
Happy Birthday
Prologue – Complete the drawing + Set the table + Play with kids
You can unlock Happy Birthday during the “Prologue” chapter. Once you wake up and go downstairs, you will be given a few tasks. First, walk into your office (through the living room) and sit down at your desk. Complete the drawing and keep pressing Right Stick Down to add more until he eventually signs it.
Soon your wife will arrive home. Meet her at the door and she will hand you groceries to put on the counter. She will then ask you to set the table. You can find the plates in the dining room, inside the cabinet on the right. Make sure to slowly move the right stick to not damage the plates.
After you’ve set the table, you can go outside to your kids and play with them. They will ask you to spin them around and run around with them. Keep doing prompts until the game forces you to stop. Complete the QTEs and the trophy is yours.
Interactive Drama
Thank you for supporting Interactive Drama
Interactive Drama is unlocked automatically after completing the second chapter “The Mall”, during which Ethan goes on a shopping trip with his family.
Good Father
Father and Son – Follow the schedule with Shaun and put him to bed in a good mood
You can unlock Good Father during the chapter “Father and Son”. Inside the kitchen, there is a schedule you’re supposed to follow to keep Shaun happy. At 4:30, Shaun needs a snack. At 6:00, Shaun needs to do his homework. At 7:00, you need to give Shaun dinner. At 8:00, he needs to go to bed. There is a clock on the wall to help you keep track of time, but you can be off by a good amount of time and still unlock this. As soon as you arrive home, walk in front of Shaun and ask if he wants a snack. Go to the kitchen, and you can grab a fruit from the bowl. Bring it to him and he will thank you.
When the clock hits 6:00, go to Shaun and tell him to do his homework, and insist he does it now. Go and sit at the table with him while he does it. Once he says he is finished go behind him and check his work.
When the clock hits 7:00, walk up to Shaun and ask if he wants dinner. Open the fridge, grab something, and microwave it. Serve it to Shaun.
When the clock hits 8:00, tell Shaun to go to bed. Walk upstairs with him and he will ask for his teddy bear. Go downstairs and it is on top of the dryer, bring it to him and tuck him in to complete the requirements for this trophy.
White Knight
Sleazy Place – Beat Troy
Please Note: This trophy can be unlocked after Private Eye, so check that trophy out before this.
You can unlock White Knight during the chapter “Sleazy Place”. After you leave Laruen’s room, a man will come force his way into her room. Go back and knock on the door and make your way in. Complete all the QTEs to beat him up and unlock the trophy.
Private Eye
Sleazy Place – Lead Lauren to talk about her son
You can unlock Private Eye during the chapter “Sleazy Place”. Once you start talking to Lauren, you will reveal you are here to track the Origami Killer. You will need to convince her to talk about her son. When you have the options, select Compassionate, Convince or Persist, and then Trick.
FBI Investigator
Crime Scene – Find all clues related to the Origami Killer in the scene
You can unlock FBI Investigator during the chapter “Crime Scene”. After you talk to Detective Carter Blake you will be given free access to search the crime scene. This trophy is unlocked for finding all the clues within this scene. Equip your glasses and look in the following locations:
- Go to the small white tent in the middle of the scene.
- The origami figure in the hand.
- Victim identity.
- Flower orchid.
- Cut on the thigh.
- Face covered with mud.
- Press R1 outside the tent. Continue pressing it to reveal more.
- Follow the yellow trail to discover the orchid pollen.
- Blood stains on railroad track.
- Footprints in the tall grass.
- Blood on the fence.
- Walk up the hill to reveal more. Press R1 at the top.
- Footprints at the top of the hill.
- Tire tracks past the footprints.
Once you’ve inspected all the clues, Norman will comment “I think I’ve seen all there is to see“, meaning you’ve completed the trophy.
Good Friends
The Park – Play two games with Shaun successfully and buy him candy
You can unlock Good Friends during the chapter “The Park”. During this chapter, you can walk up to different playground equipment and suggest to Shaun to play on them. You can play on the see-saw, the merry-go-round, and the swing set. You only need to use two of them for this trophy, but if you feel you’ve messed up the QTEs on one of them, you can go complete another. After you’ve completed two games, go to the candy seller at the back of the park and buy some. Bring the candy to Shaun and the trophy will be yours.
Got To Remember!
Welcome, Norman! – Remember the time it was at the park and what Shaun was wearing
You can unlock Got to Remember! during the chapter “Welcome, Norman!”. Near the end of the chapter, Ethan will be getting questioned by Lieutenant Blake about Shaun’s disappearance. To unlock this trophy you need to get all the questions correct. The answers to the questions are as follows:
- What time?: 4:15.
- Coat color: Beige.
- Pants color: Green.
After answering those three questions you can choose whatever answers afterwards, and the trophy will unlock at the end of the chapter.
Negotiator
Hassan’s Shop – Persuade the Robber to leave
Please Note: This trophy interferes with the Perfect Crime playthrough, so you will have to pick it up later in chapter select.
You can unlock Negotiator during the chapter “Hassan’s Shop”. During this chapter, a robber will walk into the shop. To earn this trophy, stealthily walk up to the robber using the rightmost aisle. Do not pick up the bottle as a weapon when prompted, and make sure to catch the box that falls so the robber doesn’t hear you. Attack the robber, but fail every QTE to enter a negotiation. Keep holding L1 + R1 and choose the dialogue options:
- Reason.
- Name.
- Calm.
- Calm.
- Help.
- Killer?.
- Drop Weapon.
VIP
Paparazzi – Leave home without being spotted by the journalists
You can unlock VIP during the chapter “Paparazzi”. You will need to evade the journalists out the front of your house. Once Ethan stands up, go through your back door, jump the fence, and go through the alleyway to your car.
Agoraphobia
Lexington Station – Knock down at least 50 passers-by
You can unlock Agoraphopia during the chapter “Lexington Station”. At the start of this chapter, you will have a section where time freezes and anybody you touch falls over. For this trophy, you must bump into 50 people and ragdoll them. You will have a limited amount of time to do this, so try to run into the biggest crowd you can find and bump into everybody. Lucky Locker
Lexington Station – Find the correct locker on first try
You can unlock Lucky Locker during the chapter “Lexington Station”. After the frozen-time section, you will walk into a large hallway with a ton of lockers. Walk to the back-left corner of this area, you are looking for Line 18 – Locker 3. Use Right Stick Up to open the locker and the trophy will be yours.
Blunder
Nathaniel – Shoot Nathaniel
You can unlock Blunder during the chapter “Nathaniel”. During this chapter, Nathaniel will pull a gun and you can either shoot him or convince him to drop the weapon. For this trophy, hit R1 when given the prompt to shoot Nathaniel. You can unlock Self Control for sparing him later using chapter select.
Self Control
Nathaniel – Do not shoot Nathaniel
You can unlock Self Control during the chapter “Nathaniel”. During this chapter, Nathaniel will pull a gun and you have the choice to either shoot him or reason with him. Select the following options to convince him to put his gun down:
- Psychology.
- Psychology.
- Calm Down.
- Gun Down.
- Back Off.
- Drop Gun.
- Hands Up.
- Turn Around.
Be sure not to hit R1 at any time. Arrest Nathaniel and the trophy will unlock. You may have to go into chapter select later to unlock Blunder.
Baby Master
Suicide Baby – Make no mistakes taking care of the baby
You can unlock Baby Master during the chapter “Suicide Baby”. After saving Mrs. Bowles she will ask you to go take care of the baby. Walk to the living room and complete all the QTEs perfectly. If you mess up any of them this trophy will be failed. You can change the QTE difficulty from the pause menu, if you select the difficulty “I play video games occasionally” you won’t encounter any of the “slowly” QTEs.
Kamikaze
The Bear – Take the best route on the highway
This is maybe the most complicated bronze trophy in the game. You can unlock this trophy during the chapter “The Bear”. At the end of the chapter, you will enter a driving section where you need to hit a ton of QTEs while going down a highway. Some QTEs lead to faster outcomes than others, this trophy is unlocked by using all the best QTEs.
Below is a list of all the QTEs you need to use. This is for the easiest difficulty, but the only things that change across difficulties are the speed you can hit them and the button prompts. The button prompts are random, either Circle or Cross, so make sure to read them from your screen instead of the guide. You can pause at any point to read ahead, but you should read all the prompts before you start the section.
- [Left] [Tilt Right] [Right] [Left] [Tilt Left] [Tilt Right].
- [Tilt Left and Right] when your car starts spinning.
- [Tilt Left] [Tilt Right] [Left] Circle / Cross [Tilt Right] [Tilt Left] [Tilt Right] [Tilt Left] Circle / Cross [Right] [Right] [Tilt Left] [Right].
- At this point a few police cars will start to chase you. This is the most confusing QTE out of all of them. You will get the prompt to either tilt left or right. The trick is to SLOWLY tilt your controller right, and try to wait halfway through the timer bar. Do not make it a sudden movement, take 1-2 seconds to make the motion. If your car does not make contact with the police car, you have done this right.
- Circle / Cross [Tilt Right] [Left or Right].
At this point you will crash into a barricade of police cars and the rest of the QTEs do not matter for the trophy. If you have done everything correctly Kamikaze will soon unlock. You may need to replay this chapter a few times because the police car prompt can be iffy. Watch the video below for a visual representation.

Good Driver
The Bear – Complete the Bear Trial successfully
You can unlock Good Driver during the chapter “The Bear”, alongside Kamikaze. During this chapter, you will start driving down a highway and have to press many QTEs. This trophy is unlocked if you successfully complete this section without failing. This will be your first trial, contributing to Trial Master for completing all five.
Cat & Mouse
Covered Market – Beat Korda in the cold storage
You can unlock Cat & Mouse during the chapter “Covered Market”. During this chapter, you will get into a fistfight with Miroslav Korda. This trophy is unlocked for not failing the fight, all you need to do is hit the majority of QTEs and the trophy is yours.
Tough Guy
Kramer’s Party – Defeat Gordi’s bodyguards
You can unlock Tough Guy during the chapter “Kramer’s Party”. During this chapter, you will get into a fistfight with Kramer’s bodyguards. Complete the QTEs and do not fail the section to unlock this trophy.
Coward!
The Butterfly – Give up or fail the Butterfly Trial
Please Note: This trophy interferes with the Trial Master playthrough, so you will have to pick it up later in chapter select.
You can unlock Coward! during the chapter “The Butterfly”. This trophy is unlocked for failing the trial and leaving early. The quickest way to earn this is to finish the glass-crawling section, and get to the electrical maze. There will be a door labelled “Coward”, leave out it for the trophy.
Electrified
The Butterfly – Complete the Butterfly Trial successfully
You can unlock Electrified during the chapter “The Butterfly”. During this chapter, you will come across the “Butterfly Trial”, which is a series of obstacles designed to hurt you. If you get hurt enough, you will fail the trial and fail this trophy. This trial is quite easier than the previous trial; this is not timed. Check below for information to get through this trial:
- During the crawling section in glass:
- The glass will hurt you if you crawl too fast. Make sure to hold R2 only halfway to slow-crawl.
- You will have to pull out a match to see which direction the flame tells you to go. The correct turns are right, left, left, right.
- Once into the electrical maze:
- You must only go through the wires that are not being electrified. These wires should be obvious, it will create a path through the maze.
- You can crawl through some of the sparking wires, just as long as there is no electricity flowing through.
- The QTEs in this section can be quite complicated. Make sure to keep holding onto the buttons until the disappear. If you fail the QTEs or pick the wrong wires twice, you will fail the trial.

Good Cop
Shrink and Punches – Stop Blake from hitting Dupré
You can unlock Good Cop during the chapter “Shrink and Punches”. During this chapter, Blake will start hitting Dupré, the psychologist. You can choose to intervene with him by moving your controller down, which shoves Blake and earns this trophy. You can pick up Bad Cop at a later time in chapter select.
Bad Cop
Shrink and Punches – Do not stop Blake from hitting Dupré
You can unlock Bad Cop during the chapter “Shrink and Punches”. During this chapter, Blake will start hitting Dupré, the psychologist. You can choose not to intervene by standing there and not saying anything to Blake, which will unlock this trophy. You can pick up Good Cop at a later time in chapter select.
Gold Finger
The Lizard – Cut your finger using axe, knife or pliers + disinfect or cauterize the wound
You can unlock Gold Finger during the chapter “The Lizard”. This is the third of Ethan’s trials, and this trial will have you cut off a part of your finger. There are two ways to do this, either do this the clean way or the painful way. This trophy is unlocked if you choose to do it the clean way.
- Find the rebar sitting on the ground next to the table. Bring it into the kitchen and turn on the stove. Heat the rebar until it is glowing red. Place the heated rebar onto the table.
- Grab the axe sitting on the floor in the corner of the room. Place it onto the table.
- Sit down at the table, select the axe, and press Right Stick Up to get Ethan to attempt bringing it up. Do it again and select the prompt “Do it” when it appears.
- Complete the QTEs to cut off your finger.
- Go to the glowing rebar and complete the QTEs to cauterize the wound.
Choosing to cauterize your wound will unlock this trophy when the chapter ends. You can unlock Butcher using chapter select at a later time.
Butcher
The Lizard – Cut your finger using saw or scissors
You can unlock Butcher during the chapter “The Lizard”. In this trial, you will be told to cut your finger off. This trophy is for doing it the more brutal way, either with a saw or scissors. After you start the trial, grab the saw off the floor to the right of the table. Bring it to the table, and complete the prompts to cut your finger off.
Fugitive
Fugitive – Manage to escape Blake in the subway station
Please Note: This trophy interferes with the Perfect Crime playthrough, so you will have to pick it up later in chapter select.
You can unlock Fugitive during the chapter “Fugitive”. During this chapter, Blake and Norman will chase Ethan and Madison. Its pretty easy to not get caught, just don’t take too long or be stupid about your decisions.
- Unblock the window and push the red crate up to the window. Climb out the window with Ethan.
- Navigate between the cars to make it to the subway.
- Enter the turnstiles on the left.
- Jump down onto the tracks and climb onto the next platform. Once you enter the train you’ll be safe.
Hands Up!
Fugitive or On the Loose – Get arrested by Blake
You can unlock Hands Up! during the chapter “Fugitive”. At the start of the chapter, Madison will meet with Ethan and try to help him escape. The first thing you will do is clear a window with boards in front of it and move a red box towards it. When you start moving the red box, the police officers will start to move in and eventually arrest you if you stand still. You must do this during your Perfect Crime playthrough.
Ludwig Von
Jayden Blues – Play the piano without a wrong note
You can unlock Ludwig Von during the chapter “Jayden Blues”. This chapter will start with Norman sitting at the piano, and you will be given a few QTEs to hit the keys. If you flawlessly hit every QTE then this trophy will unlock. If you are playing on the lowest difficulty, you will only need to worry about pressing Cross + Circle + R2 + R1. This section lasts about thirty seconds so it should be quite easy.

Detox
Jayden Blues – Resist Triptocaine
Please Note: This trophy will be missed if you are arrested during “Fugitive”. If you are earning this using chapter select, you must start in Fugitive and make sure you escape.
You can unlock Detox during the chapter “Jayden Blues”. If Blake and Norman fail the arrest of Ethan, you will enter an investigation in this chapter. After the investigation, Norman’s nose will start to bleed and you will start automatically walking towards the Triptocaine. Make sure to hit the QTEs of moving your controller upwards, and walk Norman to the shower to sober himself.
Wise Guy
Under Arrest – Switch the camera off in the surveillance room before saving Ethan
Please Note: This trophy is marked as missable since you can evade arrest in both “Fugitive” and “On the Loose”, skipping this chapter. If you’re following the Playthrough Order section, you will earn this trophy in Playthrough 1.
You can unlock Wise Guy during the chapter “Under Arrest”, which is only available if you get arrested during Fugitive or On the Loose. During this chapter, Blake and Norman will fight and Norman will go back to his office. You will then enter and complete the chapter Jayden Blues and come back into this chapter.
- Go into the Interrogation Room that is next to the hallway leading towards Ethan’s room. Go to the camera and turn it off. Doing this alone will guarantee the trophy.
- Go into the room with Ethan and have the police officer leave. Help Ethan up.
- Go back into the Interrogation Room and use the microphone to tell the officer to leave. He will tell you where the keys to the handcuffs are.
- Grab the police uniform off the chair in this room.
- Go into the desk area and grab the key off the officer’s desk. His desk is located right next to Norman’s.
- Go back to Ethan and unlock his handcuffs and he will escape the station.
There is no way to fail at helping Ethan escape, but if you forget to shut the camera off beforehand, this trophy will not unlock and you will need to replay quite a bit of gameplay. Shutting off the camera will guarantee the trophy.
I’m a Killer…
The Shark – Kill the Drug Dealer
You can unlock I’m a Killer… during the chapter “The Shark”. This is the fourth of Ethan’s trials. You will get into a gunfight with a drug dealer, and at the end you have the choice to either kill him or spare him. This trophy is unlocked for killing him, which is also required for Trial Master.
I’m not a Killer!
The Shark – Do not kill the Drug Dealer
Please Note: This trophy interferes with the Trial Master playthrough, so you will have to pick it up later in chapter select.
You can unlock I’m not a Killer! during the chapter “The Shark”. This is the fourth of Ethan’s trials. You will get into a gunfight with a drug dealer, and at the end you have the choice to either kill him or spare him. This trophy is unlocked for sparing him. This will fail the trial but earn this trophy.
Smart Girl
The Doc – Do not drink the Doc’s beverage
You can unlock Smart Girl during the chapter “The Doc”. When the doctor offers Madison a drink, accept it. You will be given the QTE to drink it, but don’t do it. He will then ask if you are drinking, say no.
Queen of Ropes
The Doc – Escape before the Doc returns
You can unlock Queen of Ropes during the chapter “The Doc”. During this chapter, the doctor will knock Madison out and tie her down to a table. You can escape these ropes once he goes to answer the doorbell. Start with Madison’s right leg and complete the QTEs to get out of the ropes before he comes back.
Goodbye Mad Jack
Mad Jack – Survive the fights against Mad Jack
You can unlock Goodbye Mad Jack during the chapter “Mad Jack”. There are two possible fights during this chapter with Jack; you have to engage with and win (survive) both. It is possible to not engage in the second fight, so read ahead to make sure you don’t talk your way out of it.
Your first fight will start after you investigate the acid bath in Jack’s garage. Complete the QTEs and you will end up having Jack at gunpoint. Select “Impress” when it gives you an opportunity. Your nose will soon start to bleed and you will be prompted to press R1. Do NOT press it, instead let the prompt expire and you will enter the second fight. Complete all the QTEs to unlock the trophy.
The Chef
Eureka – Prepare a good omelette on time
You can unlock The Chef during the chapter “Eureka”. During this chapter, Lauren will take a shower and Scott will attempt to make eggs for her. If you make the eggs correctly, you will earn the trophy. Follow the instructions below:
- Open the fridge and grab the eggs.
- Grab the pan next to the sink.
- Break the eggs into the pan, scramble them, and turn on the stove. Turn them a few times with Right Stick Down.
- Once Scott says the eggs should be ready, turn off the stove and put the eggs on the plate.
I’m not Scared!
Twins – Follow your brother without making any mistakes
You can unlock I’m not Scared! during the chapter “Twins”. During this chapter, you will have a ton of QTEs while chasing after your brother. If you fail any of these QTEs, you will fail the trophy. These can become quite tough, including the new QTE of balancing yourself by rotating the controller. This might take a few attempts using chapter select.
Pride Saved
Sexy Girl – Take off no more than one item of clothing during the strip-tease
Please Note: This trophy is marked as missable since Madison can die beforehand, skipping this chapter. If you’re following the Playthrough Order section, you will earn this trophy in Playthrough 1.
You can unlock Pride Saved during the chapter “Sexy Girl”. During this chapter, you will get Paco’s attention and go to a private area for a striptease. To unlock this trophy, only unbutton your shirt (Right Stick Up) and you will have the prompt to grab a lamp and hit Paco. Pick that option as soon as it appears.
Unforgivable
On the Loose – Do not forgive Madison
Please Note: While this trophy is not missable, it will interfere with many endings, making other trophies missable. If you’re following the Playthrough Order section, you will earn this trophy in Chapter Select.
You can unlock Unforgivable during the chapter “On the Loose”. To come across this trophy, during this chapter, you must choose to kiss Madison. After a cutscene, you will wake up and Madison will reveal a secret. For this trophy, you must choose to reject her.
Lover Boy
On the Loose – Forgive Madison
You can unlock Lover Boy during the chapter “On the Loose”. To come across this trophy, during this chapter, you must choose to kiss Madison. After a cutscene, you will wake up and Madison will reveal a secret. For this trophy, you must choose to forgive her.
Escape Master
On the Loose – Escape the police at the motel
You can unlock Escape Master during the chapter “On the Loose”. During this trophy, if Ethan and Madison are still alive, Madison will notice police rushing the building. For this trophy, you need to alert Ethan and help him escape the motel.
- When Madison notices the police, there will be a camera shot of the phone inside the reception office. Go inside the reception office and use the phone, on the back wall.
- Ethan’s room number is 207.
- Complete the QTEs to escape the police.
- When Ethan is surrounded, choose Jump instead of Surrender.
Swimming Instructor
Trapped – Save Lauren underwater
Please Note: This trophy interferes with the Perfect Crime playthrough, so you will have to pick it up later in chapter select. If you’re following the Playthrough Order section, you will earn this trophy in Partial Playthrough 2.
You can unlock Swimming Instructor during the chapter “Trapped”. During this chapter, Scott and Lauren will be in a sinking car. You must escape, but first, untie Lauren’s hand wraps. Make sure she isn’t tied down anymore before you break the window.
Invincible Scott
Face to Face – Do not get shot in Kramer’s villa
You can unlock Invincible Scott during the chapter “Face to Face”. During this chapter, you will ram into Kramer’s villa and have a shootout with his security. This trophy is unlocked if you hit every QTE perfectly. If you are playing on the lowest difficulty you will only use Cross + Circle.
Kind Hearted
Face to Face – Give Kramer his medicine
Please Note: This trophy interferes with the Perfect Crime playthrough, so you will have to pick it up later in chapter select. If you’re following the Playthrough Order section, you will earn this trophy in Partial Playthrough 2.
You can unlock Kind Hearted during the chapter “Face to Face”. During this chapter, after the shootout, you will enter Kramer’s office and he will start to have a heart attack. Retrieve his medicine from the drawer in his desk and give it to him.
Sacrifice
The Rat – Drink the poison
Please Note: This trophy is marked as missable since Ethan can be arrested beforehand, skipping this chapter. If you’re following the Playthrough Order section, you will earn this trophy in Partial Playthrough 2.
You can unlock Sacrifice during the chapter “The Rat”. This is the final of Ethan’s trials. You will arrive to a room that only contains a poison phial. Your task will be to drink it. Complete the QTE to drink the poison and earn this trophy.
Clever Dad
The Rat – Work out where Shaun is held
Please Note: This trophy is marked as missable since Ethan can be arrested beforehand, skipping this chapter. You can also miss this trophy if you fail to complete at least 3/5 of Ethan’s trials. This trophy also interferes with your Trial Master playthrough. If you’re following the Playthrough Order section, you will earn this trophy in Chapter Select.
You can unlock Clever Dad during the chapter “The Rat”. Choose not to drink the poison and leave the room. You will go back to your car and review the evidence you already have. If you’ve successfully completed at least 3/5 of the trials, you will be able to earn this. When picking between locations, choose 852 Theodore Roosevelt Road.
You will have to play through the “Killer’s Place” chapter before this trophy unlocks, so you can choose to instantly fail the investigation as Norman and die as Madison to speed this process up.
Cold as Ice
Killer’s Place – Survive the explosion by hiding in the fridge
Please Note: This trophy is marked as missable since Madison can die beforehand, skipping this chapter. If you’re following the Playthrough Order section, you will earn this trophy in Partial Playthrough 1.
You can unlock Cold as Ice during the chapter “Killer’s Place”. After the killer locks you into the hidden room, break your way out by smashing the radio into the wall and jumping out. You will need to navigate the fire and go around Scott’s desk. Instead of jumping out the window (and dying), toss the filing cabinet down and jump towards the kitchen. Go into the kitchen, and hide inside the fridge for this trophy.
Simple Mind
The Old Warehouse – Save the Origami Killer before he falls, with Jayden or Madison
Please Note: This trophy is marked as missable since Madison and Norman can die beforehand, skipping this scene. If you’re following the Playthrough Order section, you will earn this trophy in Partial Playthrough 1.
You can unlock Simple Mind during the chapter “The Old Warehouse”. During this chapter, if Madison or Norman is still alive, you will get into a fight with the killer. During this fight, he will fall to a ledge and start dangling, and you will have the choice if you want to save him or not. You must save him for this trophy.
So Close…
The Old Warehouse – Reach the end with all characters… and fail
Please Note: This trophy is marked as missable since all characters can die beforehand, voiding this trophy. If you’re following the Playthrough Order section, you will earn this trophy in Partial Playthrough 3.
You can unlock So Close… during the chapter “The Old Warehouse”. For this trophy, Norman, Madison, and Ethan must be alive and heading towards the warehouse. This trophy is for getting them all killed or arrested in this final chapter.
- Have Ethan break Shaun out of the pit. Revive Shaun and save him when you get the prompts.
- Fail every QTE during the fight as Norman, and have him die on the conveyer belt.
- Fail every QTE during the section as Madison running away from the police. The police will arrest her.
- As Ethan, pick Shaun up and put him down before leaving the warehouse. The police will kill Ethan.
HEAVY RAIN™ Hero
Finish HEAVY RAIN™
You will earn this trophy after you complete the game. It does not matter which ending you get, HEAVY RAIN™ Hero will always unlock.
Four Heroes
Complete the story with four characters alive
Please Note: This trophy is marked as missable since all characters can die beforehand, voiding this trophy. If you’re following the Playthrough Order section, you will earn this trophy in Partial Playthrough 2.
To unlock Four Heroes, you need Ethan, Madison, and Norman to all make it to the warehouse for the final chapter. Save Shaun as Ethan, have Madison make it past the police and join Ethan inside the warehouse, and win the fight against the killer as Norman. The fourth alive character is Shaun.
Trial Master
Succeeded in all Ethan’s trials
Please Note: This trophy is marked as missable since Ethan can become imprisoned before the final trial, or can fail the trials.
If you’re following the Playthrough Order section, you will earn this trophy in Partial Playthrough 2.
There are five trials Ethan has the ability to complete. Even if you fail a trial, you will still show up for the next one. This trophy is unlocked for completing all five trials in one playthrough. Check the below trophies for more in-depth walkthroughs for the trials:
- Trial 1: Good Driver.
- Trial 2: Electrified.
- Trial 3: Gold Finger or Butcher.
- Trial 4: I’m a Killer….
- Trial 5: Sacrifice.
After you complete the fifth trial, you will get the address to Shaun’s location and Trial Master will unlock.
Nerd
Find all clues using ARI (Crime scene + Mad Jack + Fish tank) and find the Origami Killer
Please Note: This trophy is marked as missable since Norman can die before the last three investigations, and can also miss clues. If you’re following the Playthrough Order section, you will earn this trophy in Partial Playthrough 2.
Norman has four chapters where he can investigate crime scenes; all of them have many clues throughout. To earn this trophy, you must find all clues. If you happen to miss any clues, you’ll need to replay starting from that chapter, and play all the way through “Solving the Puzzle”, or else the clues will not save.
- Crime Scene:
Check out Trophy FBI Investigator to find all the clues at this crime scene.
- Mad Jack:
After initially talking to Jack, he will leave you alone in his garage. This is where you can use ARI to investigate the place. Make sure to NOT touch the acid bath near the entrance, or else your investigation will be cut short. Press R1 while using ARI and investigate the following clues:- The three blood trails coming from the acid bath towards the table.
- Shoe prints next to the table.
- Orchid pollen in the air, next to the hanging hook.
- The tire tracks next to the hanging hook.
- Traces of blue paint at the back of the garage.
- The fingerprints, Jack’s size 13 footprints, the tire tracks closest to the office, and the mugs in his office are NOT required for this trophy, but consider finding them all just to be safe.
- After you’ve found all the listed clues, go investigate the acid bath near the entrance to end this section.
- Fish Tank:
After you fight with the killer, you will enter back into Paco’s office and be able to find the following clues:- Gas station receipts that fell out of the killer’s coat pocket, on the ground next to the door.
- The gun behind the door, where the killer was hiding.
- The scattered papers on the floor, behind Paco’s desk.
- The gun in the middle of the room.
- Pick up Norman’s ARI glasses on the broken glass and press R1 to find the following:
- Look at the killer’s gun behind the door AGAIN, this time in ARI mode. This is very important and easily missed. Norman will say “A 45 caliber semi-automatic…”.
- The bullet shell on the ground next to the door.
- Fingerprints on the radio near the door.
- Madison’s fingerprints on the tape on the desk.
- Paco’s fingerprints on the desk.
- Orchid pheromones floating in the air near Paco.
- Paco’s body.
- Madison’s lipstick in the middle of the room, close to Paco’s body.
- Madison’s fingerprints on the lamp, on the far side of the room.
- Solving the Puzzle:
This investigation will take place inside Norman’s ARI. If you take longer than 10 minutes to complete the following tasks, Norman will not find the killer and fail the trophy. If you need to think or take a break, make sure to pause the game instead of idling. Do not close the ARI.
- Under the Clues section:
- Analyze the Blue Lagoon Video. Pause the video and analyze the killer’s gold watch.
- Analyze the gun.
- Geoanalyze the Gas station receipts.
- Geoanalyze the clue “The Killer is or was a Cop”. Choose to Investigate Further when given the choice.
Once you investigate all the clues, Norman will end the investigation for you. Nerd should then unlock at the next loading screen.
Saved the Kid
Save Shaun
Please Note: This trophy is marked as missable since all protagonists can fail their objectives and Shaun can die. If you’re following the Playthrough Order section, you will earn this trophy in Partial Playthrough 1.
Saved the Kid is unlocked by achieving an ending where Shaun is alive. You’d have to go out of your way quite a bit to not save him in any way. Madison or Norman have to figure out the warehouse location near the end of the game and successfully fight off the killer to save Shaun.
Perfect Crime
Clean Manfred’s shop of evidence + Let Lauren, Hassan and Kramer die + Kill Madison and Jayden + Origami Killer free
This is the easiest missed trophy and should be your main focus on your first playthrough. This trophy requires you to make certain decisions starting from the beginning of the game. It is suggested to follow the Playthrough Order section closely, since you can earn this in your first playthrough while earning many other missables. Either way, if you wish to do this trophy by itself, start at the chapter “Hassan’s Shop” with Save on, and follow the instructions below very carefully. Your decisions in all the other chapters do not matter.
- Hassan’s Shop:
During this chapter, Hassan’s store will be robbed. Do not move during the entire robbery, and Hassan will eventually be shot and killed. - Fugitive:
During this chapter, Madison will meet with Ethan and try to help him escape the police. Have yourself get caught and arrested. There are many ways to get arrested but as soon as you clear the window of the boards and start moving the red box, the police will start to move and catch you. - Manfred:
From when you enter Manfred’s shop, be very careful about what you touch. You will need to clean up all your fingerprints afterwards. Lauren will touch whatever she wants.
You will need to touch the following to progress:
- The ringing phone.
- The shot glass with Manfred.
- The magnifying glass on the desk.
After Manfred goes into the back to look for a list of customers, follow him back there and you will find him dead on the floor. You will then be tasked with cleaning all your fingerprints. You will need to clean the following:
- The white phone next to Manfred’s body.
- The black phone that was ringing on the desk.
- The two shot glasses, the bottle, and the magnifying glass.
- The ballerina trinket Lauren was touching, on the glass case.
- The glass case against the wall, close to the entrance door. Lauren may have touched it.
- The handle on the front door.
Once you’ve cleaned everything, talk to Lauren and get out of there. If you’ve done it correctly, your next scene will be you and Lauren in a car. If you missed something, the game will point it out and send you to the police station. If you failed, go to the main menu and replay the chapter, with the Save on so you continue your playthrough from there.
- Fish Tank:
During this chapter, the Origami Killer will attack Norman. Fail the QTEs and let him die. - On the Loose:
During this chapter police will surround Ethan’s motel room and attempt to arrest him. Fail all the QTEs and they will take him into custody. - Trapped:
During this chapter, Scott and Lauren will be put into a drowning car. You must NOT help Lauren. Escape as Scott only and let Lauren die. Make sure to complete the QTEs to have Scott leave the car unharmed. - Face to Face:
During this chapter, Kramer will start having a heart attack and ask for his pills. Do not get his pills and leave out the door. - Killer’s Place:
During this chapter, Madison will find Scott’s secret room. Once she tries to leave, Scott will trap her inside the room. You must stand still for a few minutes and let Madison die.
If you’ve done everything as the guide says, your next chapter will be The Old Warehouse and Perfect Crime will unlock.
All Endings

There are 17 different endings you can achieve, they are all determined from decisions you can choose in the later part of the game, usually depending on who is left alive. This doesn’t mean you have to replay the game 17 times, since you can achieve up to four endings at once. If you follow the Playthrough Order section you can achieve all these endings within one playthrough and seven partial playthroughs.
Ethan Mars
- Ending: Helpless.
Achieved during: Playthrough 1.
Requirements: Shaun dies and Ethan is imprisoned. - Ending: Innocent.
Achieved during: Partial playthrough 1.
Requirements: Ethan is imprisoned, but Shaun is saved. - Ending: A New Life.
Achieved during: Partial playthrough 2.
Requirements: Ethan is alive, Madison is alive, they kissed during “On the Loose” and Ethan forgave her. - Ending: Ethan’s Grave.
Achieved during: Partial playthrough 3.
Requirements: Ethan is shot and killed by Police during “The Old Warehouse”. - Ending: Origami Blues.
Achieved during: Partial playthrough 5.
Requirements: Ethan is alive and not imprisoned, Madison is dead, not kissed or unforgiven, Shaun dies. - Ending A New Start.
Achieved during: Partial playthrough 6.
Requirements: Ethan is alive and not imprisoned, Madison is dead, not kissed or unforgiven, Shaun is saved. - Ending: Tears in the Rain.
Achieved during: Partial playthrough 7.
Requirements: Ethan is alive, Madison is alive, kissed and forgiven. Shaun dies.
Madison Paige
- Ending: Dead Heroine.
Achieved during: Playthrough 1.
Requirements: Madison dies. - Ending: Heroine.
Achieved during: Partial playthrough 1.
Requirements: Madison reaches the warehouse and Shaun is saved. - Ending: Square One.
Achieved during: Partial playthrough 4.
Requirements: Madison survives but does not find the warehouse. Ethan dies or is imprisoned.
Norman Jayden
- Ending: Uploaded.
Achieved during: Playthrough 1.
Requirements: Norman dies. - Ending: Case Closed.
Achieved during: Partial playthrough 2.
Requirements: Norman reaches the warehouse, and survives. Shaun is saved. - Ending: Resignation.
Achieved during: Partial playthrough 4.
Requirements: Norman survives but does not find the warehouse. Shaun is saved. - Ending: Smoking Mirror.
Achieved during: Partial playthrough 5.
Requirements: Norman survives but does not find the warehouse. Shaun dies.
Scott Shelby
- Ending: Unpunished.
Achieved during: Playthrough 1.
Requirements: Scott survives and is not captured or discovered. Lauren must die during “Trapped”. - Ending: Origami’s Grave.
Achieved during: Partial playthrough 1.
Requirements: Scott dies. - Ending: A Mother’s Revenge.
Achieved during: Partial playthrough 3.
Requirements: Scott is not killed or caught by any of the protagonists. Lauren is saved during “Trapped”.
Once you have successfully achieved all 17 endings you will unlock All Endings.
