Welcome to the Borderlands 4 trophy guide which will help you navigate through Kairos as one of the 4 Vault Hunters who end up uncovering more than just vaults as they help the people of this oppressed planet before crushing the Timekeeper.
- Platforms: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC.
- Trophies: 36: Platinum: 1, Gold: 4, Silver: 14, Bronze: 17.
- Achievements: 35: 1,000 G.
- Release Date: 12th September 2025.
- Missable: Technically nothing is missable as you can mop up anything you haven’t done after the story in the post game and as you need to play through to UHVM 5 you will have a lot of opportunity to get everything done along the way.
- Highly Missable: 2: All Things Vend, Rift Incompatible.
- Glitched: Nothing yet although Borderlands 4 does have a lot of optimisation issues on both PC and console, I lost count how many hard crashes I had throughout my multiple playthroughs.
- Online: None. There is online co-op but there’s no trophies linked to the online element.
- Difficulty Rating: 5/10, it’s tougher than a normal Borderlands and there are difficulty modes but you can do the entire game on easy.
- Approx. time to 100%: 70 Hours.
In Borderlands 4 you will play as one of 4 Vault Hunters each with their own abilities and skills who will then embark on an adventure through the solitary planet, Kairos which has been split into 4 main zones. You have the lush vegetation rich Fadefields to the South, the acrid desert of Carcadia Burns in the North West then the mountainous wasteland of Terminus Range in the North West with Dominion, the home of the Order in the Centre. The Order will be the main enemy in the game with the Timekeeper serving the role of the antagonist who is no Handsome Jack but he’s definitely a much better “big bad” than the twins were in Borderlands 3, I think the less said about them, the better.
In Borderlands 4, there will be the main story which is a bet wet but it serves its purpose for the type of game this is, you won’t be coming to a Borderlands game for a deep narrative which will change your outlook on life, what you are here for is over the top combat, billions of guns and fast, fun action which Borderlands 4 delivers really well. Be aware though, Borderlands 4 is tougher than previous Borderlands entries even on easy I was getting my ass handed to multiple times and I’ve done every game in the series. If you are struggling go off and do some side missions as the xp and gear you receive for the most part can help carry you through some of those mid game missions.
The Roadmap is a fairly tricky one as Borderlands 4 is open World you can technically go off after the tutorial area and go where you please but as you’ll get your ass handed to you in the tougher areas I’ll lay it as as I done it through my time with the game. As you make your way through the Fadefields, learn the game, experiment with your skills. You can re-spec your skill points in Carcadia Burn, the second main region so don’t worry to much about placing points in the wrong slots. As you make your way through the Fadefields you should focus on unlocking the following trophies:
When you get to Carcadia Burn, start working through the missions and side missions whilst focusing on unlocking the following trophies as you go:
You can then go off and explore Terminus Range where several other trophies can be unlocked as well as putting you into the end game having made it back from Elpis, Dominion City will now be accessible so blast your way through the Timekeeper’s dominion to unlock the following trophies:
- Master of Death and Dance.
- I Earned This.
- As If Moved by an Occult Hand.
- Howling on the Moon.
- Everything Breaks.
Post Game:
In the post game which is very lacklustre for a Borderlands game there are several steps you should now go off and complete after having rolled the credits which will include levelling the other 3 Vault Hunters to level 50 as well as completing the challenges and components required to unlock UVHM 5. There are also a lot of other miscellaneous tasks, challenges, side missions and other elements to complete which essentially mops up anything remaining. You may well have unlocked several of the following trophies along the way but if not, now would be the time to focus on these trophies to work towards concluding your time on Kairos:
- Gear Five!.
- The Lookbook is the Cookbook.
- Catch-A-Ride.
- Area of Expertise.
- Brand Equity.
- Ruler of Everything.
- Arena Grande.
- Reverse Abduction.

- Freelance, bot Not for Free.
- Unfaded.
- The Mountain Provides.
- Churn the Burn.
- Useful Citizen.
- Nothing Left to Guard.
- Pale Blueberry Dot.
- Who’s the Boss?.
- Mole Money, Mole Problems.

With everything above completed and unlocked you will then earn the coveted:

You need to earn the other 35 trophies throughout Borderlands 4 to unlock Aw Man, Now We Have to Make BL5.
15 G
Crimson Rising

45 G
Good Hunter
Reach player level 30.
Refer to Master of Death and Dance for more information.
75 G
Master of Death and Dance
Reach player level 50.
You will gain XP for virtually everything you do in game be it killing enemies completing main mission, side missions or working through challenges so keep playing through the game to the end, you won’t need to worry about going for Level 50 in the post game as completing the main game and every side quest will get you close. Add in the XP you’ll receive for all the killing you’ll be doing and you’ll hit level 50 soon enough. Once you reach level 50 you will unlock Master of Death and Dance.
100 G
Gear Five!
Reach Ultimate Vault Hunter level 5.
Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode is referred to in game as UVHM and will initially unlock once you have rolled the credits for the first time. This will put you into UVHM 1. You then need to complete the relevant challenges which become available to unlock the next 4 levels of UVHM which consist of tougher Wildcard missions which are missions with mods essentially as well as defeat certain boss enemies. As soon as you transcend from UVHM 4 to UVHM 5 you will unlock Gear Five!.
10 G
The Lookbook is the Cookbook
Collect 60 Cosmetics.
Cosmetics are any item which change the way either your character, your gun or your vehicle look like and you will receive a high amount of rewards just by playing through the game. After completing missions or challenges you usually receive a reward which you can unlock in your inventory so keep playing through the game completing main and side missions where you will find 60 Cosmetics along the way unlocking The Lookbook is the Cookbook when you have 60.
25 G
Catch-A-Ride
Collect all personal vehicles.
There are 10 vehicles to acquire in Borderlands 4 and collecting them all requires you to reach level 50 with each of the 4 base game characters which is a hefty requirement. You are able to, once you have rolled the credits on your main character start a new game with your other characters at level 30 but as per Borderlands levelling you are half way to level 50 when you’re around level 42 so it’s a bit of a boost but it will still take a long time to level all 4 characters to 50. Refer to the Catch-A-Ride trophy guide for how to unlock every personal vehicle in the game.
50 G
I Earned This
Equip legendary gear in every slot.
Legendary gear will be Orange in colour and usually comes with some decent perks and as the description states you will need to have Legendary gear in every slot. There are 9 slots you can find in your inventory all of which will need to hold a Legendary item, some are easier to come by than others but as most bosses have legendary drops as well as latter mission rewards you shouldn’t have to many difficulties filling each slot with a leggo. The slots you need to fill are:
- Weapon 1.
- Weapon 2.
- Weapon 3.
- Weapon 4.
- Repkit.
- Grenade
- Class Mod.
- Shield.
- Enhancement.
Once you have successfully placed legendary gear in each of the 9 above slots you will then unlock I Earned This.
15 G
Area of Expertise
Complete any gear challenge category.
Gear Challenges are found by going: Menu> Missions> Challenges where you then need to complete any challenge for the following weapon / equippable item type which are:
- Assault Rifle.
- Pistol.
- Shotgun.
- SMG.
- Sniper Rifle.
- Grenade.
- Heavy Ordnance.
- Repkit.
- Shield.
For the most part a gear challenge will be based around combat challenges so using Atlas tracking darts to lock onto enemies, dealing explosive damage with Torgue weaponry or elemental damage with Malian for example. Once you have completed any gear challenge category you will then unlock Area of Expertise.
15 G
Brand Equity
Complete any manufacturer challenge category.
Manufacturer challenges can be found by going: Menu> Missions> Challenges then focus on using any weaponry from any of the following manufacturers who are:
- Atlas.
- Daedalus.
- Jakobs.
- Maliwan.
- Order.
- Ripper.
- Tediore.
- Torgue.
- Vladof.
Order weapons are my least favourite personally as I don’t like the charge and release system but if you like them then feel free. Either way you will need to complete an entire challenge for a manufacturer for it to count then once the game is satisfied you have completed the tasks you will then unlock Brand Equity.
50 G
Ruler of Everything
Complete all activities.
Activities are represented with a “?” and can be anything from a bunker to an Auger Mine or a Vault Key Fragment to a hidden boss battle. Work through the game game ensuring everything that is white turns green on the map which then signifies it has been completed. With all activities completed, you will then unlock, Ruler of Everything.
10 G
Arena Grande
Complete the Goredello world event.
The Goredello world event can be found in South West Terminus Range randomly so if it isn’t there, keep playing and it will show up eventually. When it does, get over there then hit the bell and take down every wave that appears. As long as you score Bronze or better you will complete the Gordello world event unlocking Arena Grande in the process.
10 G
Reverse Abduction
Complete the Airship world event.
The Airship world event will be in the Fadefields specifically just to the West of Idolator Sol’s Fortress and will appear randomly so keep an eye on the map then get over there and ride the tractor beam up into the 3 Ships. You then need to clear out as many Order as possible whilst evacuating before the timer reaches zero. If you die as you can see in the video you will respawn and the event will continue so don’t worry to much and try to score at least bronze to complete the Airship world event which then unlocks Reverse Abduction.
10 G
Shoot the Moon
Complete the Creep Impact world event.
The Creep Impact World Event will appear at random in the North West corner of the Lopside district in the Carcadia Burn region and will task you with killing Creeps who then drop ore you need to throw into the chambers which then powers up the railgun to shoot the meteors. You will need to get as much ore in as required but be quick as once the ore falls from the Creeps it won’t last long before it disintegrates. Tether the ore then throw into the chamber through the 3 waves to complete the World event. You will then get a chest to open which holds some rewards and note you don’t need to get all 10 ore in the final wave. I got 9 to see if the achievement would still unlock and it did so do your best and with the Creep Impact World Event complete you will unlock Shoot the Moon.
10 G
Freelance, but Not For Free
Complete 80 contracts.
Contracts are found on Bounty Boards which are located across pretty much every safe house, silo base, main base or anywhere else they turn up up. These contracts consist of either fetch, kill, collect or patrol an area whilst either defeating targets or collecting items. Complete 80 contracts to unlock Freelance, but Not For Free.
25 G
Unfaded
Discover all map locations in The Fadefields.
Finding locations is a lot easier than it was in previous games as they will be marked with question marks on the map now and the locations that aren’t you will go to as part of the main story or through side missions. If you are missing any then ensure you have gone to all 4 corners of the Fadefields and through to the Vault of Inceptus where you should then have found every location required to unlock Unfaded.
25 G
The Mountain Provides
Discover all map locations in Terminus Range.
As you progress through Terminus Range you will come across many “?” symbols on the map, revealing them all as well as completing all of the side missions and unlocking the Vault of Origo will all count towards unlocking The Mountain Provides.
25 G
Churn the Burn
Discover all map locations in Carcadia Burn.
Carcadia Burn is the most difficult out of the 4 main regions in Borderlands 4 to find all of the locations as you not only need to go through Carcadia Burn you will also need to find the locations on Elpis which count towards Carcadia Burn locations. Finish all of the side quests and main missions up to and including where you take down the Moon-Maddened Callis boss as well as ensuring open the Vault of Radix to unlock Churn the Burn.
25 G
Useful Citizen
Discover all map locations in Dominion City.
Dominion City will be unlocked once you have finished your business up on Elpis then with the walls breached you can enter the city which is locked down so tight even vehicle travel is prohibited. Finish all side and main missions which then gives you access to the Bunker and Auger Mines found in the City. Finally get to and every outstanding “?” to finish off the locations which, once all are found will unlock Useful Citizen.
25 G
Pop Out
Defeat a world boss.
World Bosses will appear at random and virtually at any point when you are on the map of Kairos either halfway through a story mission or just gadding about taking in the scenery. They will be identifiable as a World Boss as they will appear inside a White Bubble and be very tough take down until you’re in the mid-late game and even then they can slap you about with ease. Take down any of these World Bosses which will be on a strict timer so you need to be powerful to successfully kill them to unlock Pop Out.
75 G
Nothing Left to Guard
Defeat all Guardians in Primordial Vaults.
There are 3 Vaults throughout Kairos one in each of the Borderlands and before you can unlock them you will need to find 3 Vault Key Fragments which you can do by capturing a Silo which then indicates the way to each of the Vault Key Fragments. You can then form the Vault Key which is used to unlock the Vault once you have discovered that. The Vaults you need to find are:
- Vault of Inceptus.
- Vault of Radix.
- Vault of Origo.
Once you enter a vault you will need to accept the side mission on the pedestal by the vending machines then clear out the Seneschal Order which are greatly enhanced versions of the usual Order enemies then once you’re at the back of the Vault you need to defeat the Vault Guardian. With all 3 Vaults accessed, cleared and looted you will then unlock Nothing Left to Guard.

Complete all side missions.
There are plenty of side missions in Borderlands 4 some of which are fairly simple where as others are in depth and as the rewards you receive tie nicely into The Lookbook is the Cookbook as well as you receiving a lot of xp, cash and weapons. I have broken down the side missions into their respective regions to make them easier to find and work through for you so refer to the Grassroots Campaigner guide if you need help with any of the side quests then once all side missions are complete you will then unlock Grassroots Campaigner.
25 G
False Idolator
Complete the mission “Rush the Gate”.
Story related.
Rush the Gate is a main story mission where you will infiltrate and disable the base where Sol is launching his bio weapon, drop down and take out Sol using the Bio Grenades he spawns during the fight to remove his immunity then focus fire on the blisters. With Sol dead, grab any geat then get back to Rush to conclude the mission unlocking False Idolator in the process.
25 G
As If Moved by an Occult Hand
Complete the mission “His Vile Sanctum”.
Story related.
The His Vile Sanctum mission will be in Terminus Range and can be a tough one to complete as you need to go through Armies of Order then take down the Vile Lictor boss at the end. When it comes to using Bruce Bombs, don’t use the ones in the room, go to the matter generator to the right of the shields where you can find a Bruce Bomb you can actually use. With Vile Lictor dead you will complete the mission and unlock As If Moved by an Occult Hand.
25 G

Story related.
Once you have taken down Idolator Sol in the Fadefields. Callis, The Ripper Queen in Carcadia Burn and Vile Lictor in Terminus Range you will need to go to Zadra’s and cleanse the bolts. After doing so you will then take the rocket up to Elpis and search for a certain young Firehawk. This is a long, tough mission so farm some gear before ascending then once you have rescued said femme fatale and taking down Moon-Maddened Callis you will then complete the Another Day, Another Universe mission and unlock Howling on the Moon.
100 G
Everything Breaks
Complete the mission “The Timekeeper’s Order”.
Story related.
The final mission in the game will see you go through the hole in the wall created from Elpis and head through Dominion City to the Spire at the top of which the Timekeeper can be fought and defeated. Be cautious during the fight as you will go straight into a battle against the Primordial Guardian Timekeeper. With everything dead, loot the vault and roll the credits to unlock Everything Breaks.

The cutout of Dr, Patricia Tannis, an icon in the Borderlands franchise can be found in the Western side of the of the Fadefields where you will find a shack which has 5 barrels around it. You need to shoot the barrels in a certain order which then spawns a cutout of Handsome Jack, the antagonist from Borderlands 2 shortly after which the cutout of Patricia Tannis will appear riding a fish. The order you need to shoot the barrels in is:
- Corrosive (green).
- Cryo (light blue).
- Fire (red).
- Shock (dark blue).
- Explosive (yellow).
Once the sequence has concluded Tannis will disappear behind a far rock where you will unlock Cut That Out.

All Things Vend
Deliver the contents of the Legendary Vending Machine.
This is a highly missable trophy as you need to complete a side mission in a specific way and if you fail, at the time of writing, you aren’t able to replay the mission to try and get it again so read the guide fully before attempting this one with the side mission being Vend of the Line in Carcadia Burn. Refer to the All Things Vend guide for a full breakdown of what’s required.
5 G
Rift Incompatible
Find Oddman’s final resting place.
Another highly missable trophy linked into a non replayable side mission so again, read the whole guide before going for this one and this side mission in particular seems to have several starting points across Kairos, it doesn’t matter which one you choose to begin the Rift Incompatible side mission so choose whichever one is closest then ensure at the end of the side mission you Punch Oddman as if you shoot him, he’s dead and that’s it.
