Superhot: Mind Control Delete Trophy Guide

Author: Trozenator.
Genres: Action Adventure, FPS.

Welcome to the Superhot: Mind Control Delete trophy guide which will help you through each level as you work through this fairly unique style of game where when you move, the enemy moves making this a much more strategy focused game than it may first appear.

  • Platforms: PlayStation 4.
  • Trophies: 15: Platinum: 1, Gold: 10, Silver: 3, Bronze: 1.
  • Developer: SUPERHOT Team.
  • Publisher: SUPERHOT Team.
  • Release Date: 7th December 2017.
  • Missable: None.
  • Glitched: Nothing yet.
  • Online: None.
  • Difficulty Rating: 4/10.
  • Approx. time to 100%: 9 Hours.

Stage 1: MORE Story:
In this stage you will play through the main story. The story will seem very confusing but just keep going through it, it will eventually all make sense. If you need help understanding where to go, check out the Game Breakdown section! The story select screen is made up from Nodes. These nodes take you into levels and challenges and reveal the next Node if you complete it. You only have to do the main story, so you do not need to do any of the challenges, such as endless, infinite or Node 100.

Stage 2: MORE Waiting:
At the end of the story there is a wait screen for 2 hours and 30 minutes. This is not skippable. So go out for lunch, get a haircut or go to bed because you will have to wait out the timer. You will get the trophy at the end of the timer.

Stage 3: MORE… Terminals?:
Woo-hoo! The terminals are back from the original SUPERHOT! Luckily, you only have to find one, and there is one in every level somewhere. You can do this at any time during your playthrough but it is recommended for last because you will know the levels much better now and won’t fear dying because you aren’t working towards a goal.

With everything else complete in Superhot: Mind Control Delete you will then unlock:

Game Breakdown

SUPERHOT is a game series where time only moves when you move, so when you aren’t moving time slows down and enemies do not move. Think of a combination of The Matrix and John Wick. SUPERHOT: MIND CONTROL DELETE is the latest game in the series, and by far the easiest and most innovative. This game can seem very confusing, with little to no help and a “figure it out yourself” attitude right when you’re thrown into the game. If you aren’t into that, here is a full in-depth breakdown of everything in the game.

Nodes And Floors:

In this guide you will hear the word “Node” a lot. A Node in this game is a set of levels that you will have to complete without dying. If you die, you restart the Node and if you complete it you will unlock more Nodes. There are a total of 31 different Nodes in this game that you are required to beat. There are also some ones that you do not have to do, that you can just pass by. Here is a breakdown of every type of Node and what they do.

Required for Platinum?: Yes.
This is an uncompleted Node. Once you complete it it will turn into a grey X. They can have 3 to 15 levels inside it, depending on what Node it is.

Required for Platinum?: Yes.
This is a Hack. When you click on it you will unlock and be able to test out a new hack (more on hacks below). Do these whenever you see them because they can come in handy.

Required for Platinum?: Yes.
This is Lore. When you click on it it will have a short story. There are no enemies so it is a nice break from all the fighting.

Required for Platinum?: Yes.
This is a Core. You can unlock new abilities with this. They are similar to hacks, but used differently (more on Cores later). You will be able to test out the new Core you have obtained. Three of these Nodes are bad though, they will unlock new boss enemies.

Required for Platinum?: No.
This is an Infinite challenge. As it sounds, it is a challenge that you can play that will give you infinite levels. You can skip right past them because they are not needed for any trophies.

Required for Platinum?: No.
This is an Endless challenge. It is very similar to the Infinite challenge but instead of infinite levels you stay in one level and have infinite waves of red dudes. You can skip right past them.

Required for Platinum?: N/A.
This is a Door Node. It will just take you to the next floor (more on floors below). You can use them any time you would like.

Required for Platinum?: No.
This is an Error Node. They appear after the story and after you get the Platinum. They are only extra levels similar to regular Nodes.

Required for Platinum?: No.
This is Node 100. It looks like a regular Node but it isn’t. It is 100 levels in one Node. Luckily, it is not required to be completed. You can just skip it.

All these Nodes are spread out across five floors. These floors get progressively harder and harder. Here is the layout for all these floors.

Lv [ @ — — — ] (Floor One).

Lv [ — @ — — ] (Floor Two).

Lv [ — — @ — ] (Floor Three).

Lv [ — — — @ ] (Floor Four).

Lv [ ▀▄▒■ ] (Floor Five)

Hacks And Cores:

There are also “Hacks” in this game that you will unlock through the story. During the Nodes you will get the chance to pick between two different hacks. Once you pick that hack you will have it for the rest of the Node. Here is a full breakdown of all the Hacks, their uses, and when you can unlock them:

  • Explode.hack.
    Unlocked after: Node 1A.
This hack makes it so whenever you lose a heart by taking damage, shurikens will be fired in the direction of enemies. This hack can be useful sometimes, but usually there is no need for it.
  • Pierceshot.hack.
    Unlocked after: Node 2B.
This hack makes it so your bullets will go through enemies. This hack isn’t usually useful but it is useful when paired up with ricochet.hack because it can make it a bullet mess for your enemies.
  • Supthrow.hack.
    Unlocked after: Node 2A.
This hack makes it so your throwing is powerful. A lot of objects can 1 hit kill enemies rather than just stun them. This hack isn’t that useful because you won’t be relying on objects because you will have guns.
  • Grenade.hack.
This hack makes it so any object you throw turns into a bunch of bullets when it hits the ground and will throw bullets everywhere. This can be very dangerous because you can hit yourself with it, so you will have to use it at your own risk.
  • Suppunch.hack.
    Unlocked after: Node 4C.
This hack isn’t very useful. This hack makes it so your punches are more powerful. You can punch bullets out of the air and you can punch through armor but that’s about it.
  • Ricochet.hack.
    Unlocked after: Node 3C.
This hack is very useful. It makes it so any bullets you fire will bounce off the wall and ricochet into enemies. If the enemy is moving, it will have a hard time hitting them but if they are standing still it will hit them. This is also useful for finding the location of enemies just by firing a bullet into the wall.
  • Defall.hack.
    Unlocked after: Node 3B.
This hack makes it so if you deflect a bullet fired by an enemy, any other active bullets in the air will go right back into the enemies that fired them. This hack is not useful because of how little bullets are deflected on purpose.
  • Wpnmstr.hack.
    Unlocked after: Node 3A.
This is the most useful hack. You will start each level with a random weapon with full ammo. Always choose this hack unless you need more health.
  • Shotflow.hack.
    Unlocked after: Node 5B.
This hack can be useful. It will make it so when you get a headshot that bullet will head straight for the next enemy. As with ricochet.hack this isn’t very useful when enemies are moving, but if some enemies are stunned or staying still it is very useful to conserve ammo.
  • Berserk.hack.
    Unlocked after: Node 5C.
This hack makes it so you are immune to damage when you’re attacking in melee. This hack can be useful in small levels when you’re crowded but not so useful when you’re just using guns.
  • Killreload.hack.
    Unlocked after: Node 5D.
This hack makes it so when you kill an enemy with a gun, that gun will instantly reload and will not have to wait for the reload. This is very useful for quick combat.
  • Dthstomp.hack.
This makes it so when you jump on an enemy it kills them. This can be useful if you’re used to this feature from the original SUPERHOT game.
  • Lightreflex.hack.
    Unlocked after: Node 6C.
This hack does not only not help, but it hurts! This hack makes it so nearby bullets slow down so you can dodge them easier. The only problem is, you can unknowingly walk right into those slowed bullets because you are assuming they’re gone and cause damage. Do not use this hack!
  • Killheal.hack.
    Unlocked after: Node 7B.
This hack gives temporary hearts when you kill enemies. This hack is pretty useful because you can earn hearts without thinking of it.
  • +Bullets.hack.
    Unlocked after: Always have.
This hack makes it so you will have more ammo in guns. This is very useful, especially for shotguns because they now have three shots.
  • 4HP/5HP.hack.
    Unlocked after: Always have.
This hack makes it so you will earn another heart than you already have. This is very useful especially in the later stages because if you heal you will have tons of hearts. You can only use this hack if you have the More Core selected (more on Cores below).
  • Heal.hack.
    Unlocked after: Always have.
This hack makes it so you will regenerate any hearts you have lost. ALWAYS HEAL! Things can always go wrong so it is very important to not risk it, especially in the later Nodes.
  • Ultraswitch.hack.
    Unlocked after: Unlocked with Hotswitch.
This hack makes it so you can switch up into three enemies in a row (killing all three). You can only do this if you have the Hotswitch Core selected (more on Cores below).
  • Piercing.hack.
    Unlocked after: Unlocked with Recall.
This makes it so thrown katanas will pierce through multiple enemies and kill them all. This can only be used if you have the Recall Core selected (more on Cores below).
  • Flwrecall.hack.
    Unlocked after: Late game.
This hack causes a throw katana to bounce between enemies while returning, killing them all. This replaces piercing.hack later in the game. This can only be used if you have the Recall Core selected (more on Cores below).
  • Perfswitch.hack.
    Unlocked after: Unlocked with Hotswitch.
This hack makes it so if you Hotswitch into a red guy with a weapon you will keep the weapon. This is very useful because you can instantly go into shooting. You can only do this if you have the Hotswitch Core selected (more on Cores below).

Cores are similar but different than Hacks. Cores are selected before you start a Node and will remain throughout the whole Node. Here is all the Cores and how they can be used.

  • MORE.Core.
    Special Hacks: 4HP.hack, 5HP.hack.
    Unlocked after: Tutorial.
This is the most useful core in the game. You will start out the Node with three hearts – different from the usual two. You can go up to five hearts with the special hacks which is a game changer. It is recommended to use this core always.
  • CHARGE.Core.
    Special Hacks: None.
    Unlocked after: Node 1A.
This core can be useful in certain situations. You will teleport to an enemies body and punch them. This can be used when they have a gun pointed at you and are about to shoot, you can use it and pick up the gun.
  • RECALL.Core.
    Special Hacks: Piercing.hack, Flwrecall.hack.
    Unlocked after: Node 4A.
This core makes it so you start with a katana in every level and you can throw and recall that katana to slice through enemies. This core is useful if you like melee combat or have the berserk.hack equipped.
  • HOTSWITCH.Core.
    Special Hacks: Piercing.hack, Flwrecall.hack.
    Unlocked after: Node 4C.

Back from the original SUPERHOT game, Hotswitching is where you teleport into a red guy’s body, killing off your old body. Unlike the Charge core this can be done from any distance. This can be very useful to get out of tight spaces and also if used with perfswitch.hack can be used to get guns from red dudes.
  • PURE.Core.
    Special Hacks: None.
Unlocked after: After the game ends.
This Core is unlocked after the game, meaning you won’t even need to use it. It is basically the opposite of the More core where it takes away a heart and leaves you with one heart, similar to the original SUPERHOT game.
  • EMPTY.Core.
Special Hacks: Takes away all Hacks.
Unlocked after: Node “LOST / POWERLESS”.
This is a special core, only used in the “LOST / DEATH” Node. You will progressively give up your hacks, cores, and controls. It is the easiest core of all because you can just “give up”.

Weapons And Enemies:

There is a variety of weapons in this game, that all have different uses and abilities. This is a breakdown of looks, names, uses, and ammo. All the weapons are the same throughout the whole game.

Fists.

Ammo: N/A.
These are your fists, you will always have them. They can be used to knock guns out of enemies hands and can be used to punch enemies to death. It takes three hits to kill an enemy with your fist.

Pistol.

Ammo: 5 Shots.
The pistol is the most common gun in the game. It can be used for close to mid ranged combat. The bullets are the standard speed. Do not try to hit cross-map shots with this.

Shotgun.

Ammo: 2 Bursts.
The shotgun is a gun that is also pretty commonly found. When shot it releases bursts of bullets around the area you shot at. This weapon is good for mid ranged combat because of the spread it covers. Try not to waste the two shots you have on close enemies. This is also good for killing multiple enemies close together. When out of ammo, you will flip over the shotgun and can hit people with it with one shot, such as a lead pipe.

Rifle.

Ammo: 3 sprays of 4 bullets.
This is a very useful weapon for long to mid ranged combat. This gun has three sprays of four bullets. The bullets come out one after another so you can hit multiple enemies in one spray. This weapon can be useful for running enemies because you can cover a lot of an area with a spray.

Railgun.

Ammo: 3 shots.
This gun is an uncommon gun, but can still be found a lot. This weapon is very useful for long ranged combat because it is like a sniper rifle. The bullets from this gun move way faster and can be used to snipe cross map and moving targets. The bullets pierce through enemies so if you have a couple lined up you can kill multiple that way.

Katana.

Ammo: N/A.
The katana is a special melee weapon because it can one-hit kill enemies and be thrown to kill enemies. If you combine this with the Recall core you can have a really nice melee build.

Throwables.

Ammo: N/A.
Throwables can be found throughout the whole game in every level. They can be used to stun enemies and knock the weapon out of their hands. It is not recommended to rely on throwable to kill enemies.

There is a variety of enemies that are slowly introduced throughout the whole game. They can have different purposes and abilities. Below is a breakdown of the look, special abilities, and quirks of these enemies.

Standard Enemy.

Unlocked after: Beginning of the game.
The standard enemy has no special abilities. It will usually spawn in with a weapon and can be shot anywhere to be killed. Quite boring, really.

Glitch Enemy.

Unlocked after: Early game.
This enemy has a weapon attached to their body. They behave as a Standard Enemy, but cannot give away their weapon. The weapon is colored red and can be any gun or a katana. Hotswitching into them will destroy the weapon.

Statue Enemy.

Unlocked after: Early game.
This enemy is all white except one body part. It can only be killed by damaging the red part of it, making more precise shots necessary. You can still jump on it to kill it if you have dthstomp.hack equipped.

Mushroom Enemy.

Unlocked after: Mid game.
The Mushroom enemy is a very special enemy because when it is killed it will release bullets out of its body everywhere. These bullets can harm you and other enemies. You can use them to set off a chain reaction and stack up kills. Other than that they behave as a Standard Enemy.

Dog.

Unlocked after: Node “ENCRYPTED / DOG”.
Dog is the first of three immortal enemies revealed in the late game. It is empty-handed but will try to charge you and melee you. Do not get close to it! It is a sign you should hurry up in the level when he spawns and can be avoided by just jumping around. His presence is alerted by a loud sound in the level. It will continue to attack you until the level is finished or it has killed you.

Nindźa.

Unlocked after: Node “ENCRYPTED / NINDŹA”.
Nindźa is the second immortal boss you can encounter in the late game. It is wielding a katana and is able to throw the katana and recall it. Much like the Dog, her presence is alerted by a loud sound in the level. She will continue to attack you until the level is finished or she has killed you.

Addict.

Unlocked after: Node “ENCRYPTED / ADDICT”.
This is the third and final immortal enemy in the game. His special ability is he will suck you in with his head and trade places with you. That won’t cause any damage to you, but he will also try to shoot or melee the player. His presence is made known by a loud sound in the level. He will continue to attack you until the level is finished or he has killed you.

Wall Spikes.

Unlocked after: Mid game.
A mix between an enemy and a weapon, wall spikes are stationary objects which will explode with bullets if touched or if you get too close to it. It can be used to your advantage however, because you can use it as a trip wire for enemies and kill the enemies with it.
