Information / Self-Boosting
General Trophy Information:
- All trophies, with the exception of One of Us, can be self-boosted using one controller and one PSN account. When creating an offline game, you can add as many dummy players as you need. No trophies require you to play online.
- To earn the trophy, you need to complete the requirements with your main account. This is the player under your username, not the dummy players with the random names such as Hazel or Thimble. If you complete it with the dummy players it will not unlock.
- With the exception of Hobby Videographer and Field Trip, it doesn’t matter which board type you use.
- The rules of Monopoly can be found on the starting menu, when you select Help and Options and Manual.
Self-Boosting Guide – How to earn many trophies within one game:
With one match, you can combine the longest trophy (Globe Trotter) with many other trophies that require late-game decisions. This one match may take about 1 – 2 hours. You can check each individual trophy for more information regarding requirements.

- Go and Movement (for Private Jet).

- Property Improvements.
- Dine & Dash.
Create a game with your account and a singular dummy player.
Part 1: Globe Trotter Grind:
Your first objective should be to earn Globe Trotter, which is unlocked for landing on every single square on the board with your main account. This is as RNG as it sounds, this trophy will probably take about an hour.
- Only buy properties with your main account – With the Dine & Dash House Rule, you can land on an unowned property with the dummy account and not buy/auction it. For the sake of keeping a record of what you’ve landed on, you’ll want to only buy properties with your main account if you land on them. If a property is unowned you will then know you haven’t landed on it. For all the other squares you will need to keep track of that yourself.
- Auction all properties instead of paying full price – You can buy all the properties without losing a ton of money by pressing Auction when you land on them, and only putting up $15. The dummy account will pass on it, giving you a huge discount.
- Do not buy any Houses/Hotels – This will only drain the money of the dummy account.
- Keep the dummy player alive by giving money – If you go into the Inventory menu, you can hand over cash to your dummy account if it gets too low.
- If you land on GO, use the ability to move to any square – With the Go and Movement House Rule selected, if you land on GO you can choose to instead move your character wherever you please. This will also unlock Private Jet.
Once you’ve earned Globe Trotter, you can move onto the next stage.
Part 2: Buying Hotels / Houses:
The rest of this game will be very quick. You will now focus on Pretty in Purple, Now we can Play, and Out of Stock.
- Since you now own all the purple/pink properties, you can buy hotels on them. The Property Improvements Game Rule allows you to buy Hotels without needing to first buy Houses. Go to the purple/pink properties, and purchase a Hotel on each square, totaling $300. This will unlock Pretty in Purple.
- Now, go to any other colored square and purchase a Hotel. The cheapest squares are brown. This will unlock Now we can Play.
- With the main player, buy all 32 Houses that the bank has to offer across your cheapest properties. This will unlock Out of Stock.
Part 3: Trading Properties:
You will now focus on Sharing is Caring, which is earned for having both players complete a color set with a single trade.
- Go into the Inventory menu, and give the dummy account one property of two different colors. Complete the trade.
- Next, go into the Inventory menu again. Give the remaining of a color to the dummy account, and have them trade back the remaining of the other property you just gave. This will complete the color sets on both ends, earning this trophy.
You can then finish the game however you’d like which then also unlocks:
Mr Moneybags’ Successor
Unlock all Trophies
You will need to earn the other 30 trophies throughout Monopoly before Mr Moneybags’ Successor will unlock.
Good Start
Buy a property.
When you land on a colored property square, you have the option to pay the base price to acquire it. You will unlock this trophy upon doing that for the first time. This is the main option presented to you so you’ll probably earn this without thinking. This does not unlock from auctioning it.
Field Trip
Find a token in the Living city using the Explore option.
When you are using the Living Board, you can choose to explore it and look around the city (see Hobby Videographer). There are a few player pieces hidden around the map that you can collect and play as. You only need to collect one for this trophy, but you will need to collect a few in order to unlock other trophies. Below are the locations of the trophy-related pieces. Move the camera close to collect the token:
- Penguin (Fancy Flippers): On the lighthouse island, on the same corner of the board as the Go To Jail square.
- Top Hat (Fancy Flippers): Found on top of the large Mr. MONOPOLY balloon, close to the sport stadium.
- Horse (Zoology): Can be found circling a stable in front of the pink properties.
- Turtle (Zoology): Near the yellow properties, there is a beach that leads to a bridge, the turtle can be found on this beach.
No more Money!
Declare bankruptcy.
During any game, you can pause, select Go Bankrupt, and confirm. Doing so will end the game and earn No more Money!.
Hobby Videographer
Explore the living city.
This trophy can be earned at any time while playing on the Living Board, which can be selected while creating a game. While it is your turn, press Explore, which will allow you to take a closer look into the city on the board. You will need to do this when going for Field Trip.
Your Way
Play a house rule match.
This trophy is unlocked for playing a match using House Rules. When creating a game, you have the ability to choose certain House Rules that change the gameplay and rules. Selecting one of these and finishing a game will earn Your Way. You can instantly bankrupt yourself if you wish.
Zoology
Play a match with 6 players, each player token must be an animal.
This trophy is unlocked for completing a match with six players, and having each player’s piece be an animal. You can self-boost this trophy and have a dummy account for all six players. There are six animals that you can play as, three unlocked from the start of the game, and three found by exploring the Living Board and collecting them. Check out Field Trip above to find the locations of the three hidden animals. These are all animal-related player tokens and how to get them:
- Cat (Hazel): Unlocked from the start of the game.
- Dog (Scottie): Unlocked from the start of the game.
- Rabbit: Unlocked from the start of the game.
- Penguin: Unlocked by exploring the Living Board.
- Horse: Unlocked by exploring the Living Board.
- Turtle: Unlocked by exploring the Living Board.
Fancy Flippers
Play a match with the penguin, top hat and either the roller skates or shoe tokens.
This trophy requires you to start and finish a game with three separate pieces; the Penguin, Top Hat, and either the Roller Skates or Shoe. To unlock the Penguin and Top Hat pieces, you will need to discover them in the Living Board. Check out Field Trip above to find the locations of these pieces. You have the Shoe from the start of the game, so if you start a game and select the three pieces, you will unlock Fancy Flippers upon completion of the match.
Speedy Monopolist
Win a match within 15 minutes.
This trophy is unlocked for winning any match in under 15 minutes. You may earn this naturally, but if you wish to get it quickly, you can quickly start a match and have the other player forfeit. This will instantly win you the match and earn Speedy Monopolist.
Investory
Build a house.
When you own all of the properties of a certain color, you have the option to spend money and build a house, which raises the rent for any visiting players. A house can cost anywhere between $50 and $200, based on location. You will use this mechanic several times for other trophies.
VIP
Build a hotel.
A hotel is an upgraded version of a house, it is an upgrade you can build on your property when you own all the properties of a certain color. Normally you need to build four houses before you can build a hotel, but using the Property Improvements House Rule, you can skip the process of building the initial houses and just build a hotel to start. You will likely build quite a few hotels while earning all the other trophies.
Sniper Shot
During the dice throw make each die hit a token.
During a game, when you roll a die on your turn, you can direct the angle anywhere you’d like and throw the dice anywhere. To unlock this trophy, you need to hit a piece with both dies thrown at once. This can either be the same piece or multiple different pieces. Keep in mind this trophy only unlocks if the person rolling is your main player. A good time to aim the dice at the pieces is at the very start when everybody is lined up.
Can’t we go any Faster?
Throw a triple using the Speed Die.
Speed Die is a modifier you can select when creating a match. After you go around the board once, you will have another die you can roll, totaling three dice at once. This trophy is unlocked for rolling the same number on all three dice. The odds of this are 1 in 72, and this is completely up to random chance. The only way to speed this up is to play an offline match with only one other dummy player, so you have quicker turns.
Dreadful Start
Land on Income Tax square on your first turn.
This trophy is unlocked by rolling a 4 to start the game and landing on the Income Tax square. You will likely earn this while starting games for other trophies, but you cannot influence this trophy in any way, it is completely random.
Precocious
Collect rent from a player, while they have not completed a full circle around the board.
This trophy is unlocked by purchasing a property and having another player land on that square before they’ve gone around the board once. As with all trophies, this needs to be done with the main account rather than another guest player. You will likely earn this naturally while focusing on other trophies, but an easy way to do this is to start a game with six players (more chances to land on an owned property), and auction every property everybody lands on so the main account. Eventually one player is bound to land on a property you own during the first go-around.
Lucky Draw
Get more than M100 from a Chance or Community Chest card.
When you land on a Chance or Community Chest square, you will draw a card that usually either gives you money or takes away money. This trophy is unlocked for landing on one of those squares with the main player and drawing a card that earns you over $100. This is completely random but should unlock in time while earning the other trophies.
The Master
Win a match.
You can win a match by being the only player left with money in the end. While going for other trophies you will likely win a number of matches. If you wish to earn this as soon as possible, you can start a game with a dummy player and have the other player forfeit, winning you the match.
Globe Trotter
Land on every single square on the board during a single match.
This trophy is unlocked for having your player land on every single square during a single match. This counts properties, utilities, Chance and Community Chest squares, the corners, taxes, literally every square. This trophy almost certainly needs to be boosted and involves a ton of RNG.
The best way to earn this is to boot up a offline game versus a dummy player that you control. Turn on the House Rule Dine & Dash, which allows the dummy player to land on properties and not need to buy/auction them, and Go and Movement, which allows you to place your player anywhere if you happen to land on GO. As you play, only buy the properties with your main account so you know which properties you landed on. Auction the property every time and purchase it for $15. Trade over money to the dummy account if it starts losing too much. You should pretty easily stay afloat and make profit with both accounts and have an infinite game.
In the end, this trophy is entirely RNG but these few tips should help. If you own the property on a square you know you landed on it previously. If you’d like to keep track of what exactly you need, also feel free to track the below squares, crossing them off after you’ve landed on them.
- GO (starting here does not count).
- Community Chest between brown squares.
- Income Tax.
- Chance between light-blue squares.
- Jail/Visiting.
- Community Chest between orange squares.
- Free Parking.
- Chance between red squares.
- Go To Jail.
- Community Chest between green squares.
- Chance between Short Line and blue squares.
- Luxury Tax.
The moment you land on the final property this trophy will unlock. This trophy may take an hour of straight rolling and hoping the RNG works. With this game board you can go on to quickly earn other RNG trophies such as Pretty in Purple, Now we can Play, Sharing is Caring, Out of Stock, and you will earn Collector for buying all the Utilities and Train Stations.
Private Jet
Playing with the “Go and Movement” house rule, choose to move when landing on the Go square.
Go and Movement is a House Rule that permits you to pick anywhere on the board to move if you land on GO. You can select this House Rule when creating a game. Start a game with this rule, and keep going around the board until you land on GO, and choose to move your piece.
Now we can Play
In a single match, have a hotel on two different color sets.
You can normally build a Hotel on a property when you own all the properties of a certain color. You then need to build four Houses, and then you can upgrade to the Hotel. This is a late-game feature used to drive up rent prices. You may earn this during a regular game, but there is an easier and quicker way using the Property Improvements House Rule. This House Rule allows you to instantly create a Hotel on any property you own, regardless if you own all the properties of the color. Land on two different color properties, and purchase four Houses and one Hotel through the Manage Buildings button. As with all trophies, this must be done with the main player.
Champion
Complete a match with 4 players, no AI.
This trophy is unlocked by completing any type of match with four players, and no AI players. These players can either be online or self-boosted using one controller. If you wish to do this very quickly, you can start a match with four players, and instantly bankrupt three of the players. You don’t even need to win the match for Champion to unlock.
One of Us
Win a game against 5 AI players.
As the trophy description suggests, this trophy is unlocked by winning a match against five AI players. The easiest type of match you can set yourself up with is a Fast Mode match with the goal Real Estate Agent. When selecting players, press R1 to add AI, and press Triangle to change the AI difficulty to Very Easy. Set the remaining five players to AI.
The end goal of the match will be to own four properties. Purchase every property you land on, and when the AI player auctions off a property make sure to win it. The easy AI players shouldn’t bid above market value so you won’t pay too much. A match like this will probably last around 15 minutes. As long as you pick up every auctioned property, this trophy should come quite quickly.
Ewww, gross
In a match with at least 3 players, acquire a property that has been owned by every other player in the game.
As the trophy description suggests, this trophy is unlocked by acquiring a property that has been owned by everybody in a match with at least three players. This trophy involves using the Trade feature, which allows you to give properties to other players. As with most other trophies, this can be self-boosted and earned quite quickly. See below for the self-boosting details:
- Start a match with three players.
- Once anybody lands on a property, auction it off and make sure one of the dummy accounts wins it.
- Trade that property to the other dummy account.
- Trade that property to yourself. This will earn Ewww, gross.
Underdog
Win a match with the Fast mode goal “Architect”, while someone else only needs another house to win the match.
Architect is a game type found under the Fast Mode option when creating a game. The goal of the gamemode is to build a House on every property within a color set. This trophy is unlocked by having another player one House away from winning, and you swoop in and build all your houses and win. As with most trophies, you can self-boost this with two players. See below for the easiest and quickest method:
- Play the game and auction all the properties to one player until you own two full color sets.
- Trade one color set over to the dummy account.
- With the dummy account, buy houses on all but one property.
- With your main account, buy houses on every property of your color set. This will win the game and unlock Underdog.
Pole Position
Be the first player at the start of the match.
At the start of every game, you will roll dice to determine the order of who plays first. Pole Position is unlocked for winning that roll. This is completely random, but if you play a few games you will no doubt unlock this.
Out of Stock
Buy all the houses from the bank.
This trophy is unlocked by buying every House that the bank has to offer. The bank can give a total of 32 houses in a match, and you can buy at most four houses per property. This trophy is best paired with the House Rules Property Improvements and Snake Eyes. This trophy only requires you to purchase the final house, so that the bank is out of stock. In a self-boosted game, make sure to auction all the houses to your main account. On the cheaper tiles, purchase all four houses, and do this until the bank runs out. Be sure to pass money between accounts if your funds are running low. This is best paired with Globe Trotter.
Pretty in Purple
Place a hotel on each property of the purple color set in a single match.
This trophy requires you to own all the purple/pink properties, and to build four Houses and one Hotel on each square. To own every purple property, you need to get lucky and land on them, so this may take a few go-arounds of the board. You can also turn on the Go and Movement House Rule, which allows you to place your piece anywhere on the board if you land on GO.
This trophy could quite easily be combined when going for Globe Trotter, since you will own every property while going for that trophy. To buy the houses/hotels, select Manage Buildings on your turn. The three hotels will cost $1500 in total. As with most trophies, this is made way easier with self-boosting, since you can control who owns the properties and guarantee you will eventually earn Pretty in Purple.
Collector
Own both utility buildings and all Train stations in a single match.
There are two Utility properties and four Train Stations on the board. This trophy requires you to own all of them in one game. This can most easily be done with self-boosting. Set up a match with a dummy player and go around the board, auctioning off every Utility/Train Station you land on. Once you own them all, Collector will unlock. This will be earned on the way to Globe Trotter, where you will own every property.
Sharing is Caring
Through a trade, have each player complete a color set.
When you own all the properties of a single color you will own the color set, also known as having a Monopoly. This trophy is unlocked for making a trade, and having two player completing a color set with the trade. As with all trophies, this is best self-boosted. This is easy to achieve during the game for Globe Trotter, since you will own all the properties during that game. See below for a quick method of self-boosting this:
- Start a game with one dummy account.
- Every time either player lands on a property, auction it and have your main account win it for $15.
- Play until your main account owns two full color sets.
- Go into the trade menu, and send the dummy player one property from each color you have the Monopolies on.
- Go into the trade menu again, have the dummy player send you one of the properties back, and send over the remaining properties of the other color set. This will complete both sets for both players, unlocking Sharing is Caring.
Great Income
Collect more than M500 rent during a single match.
Rent is collected when another player lands on your owned property. The rent on a property can be increased by owning more properties of that color and building Houses/Hotels (see Investory). You will receive and pay rent to other player’s property quite often, so Great Income will be unlocked quite early on.
Subsidized Monopolist
With the Free Parking house rule, land on the Free Parking square and receive more than M800.
This trophy requires you to be playing a game with the Free Parking Cash House Rule selected. With this house rule, any money paid to the bank through the Income/Luxury Tax squares and Chance/Community Chest cards will go to the middle of the board, and if you land on the Free Parking square you win it all. This trophy requires you to win a total of $800 or more from this square.
You actually don’t need to receive $800 at once, you can land on it multiple times and it has to total to $800. A good way to earn this trophy is to also combine it with the Go and Movement House Rule, which allows you to place your piece anywhere you’d like if you land directly on GO. If you can, land on the Income Tax square, which puts $200 in the middle. The money in the middle of the board isn’t actually shown. Once you land on Free Parking and receive a total of $800 or more throughout the game Subsidized Monopolist will then unlock.
That’s the Monopoly trophy guide complete, I hope it helped you through the game.
