Here we will go over the, The Last Of Us Part 1 The Suburbs Notes and Artefacts of which there are 10 in total and collecting an artefact is just a case of going to the artefacts location then picking it up and they serve no purpose other than adding lore and backstory to the game world and environment. That said, they will all count towards unlocking Chronicles.
The Suburbs Notes And Artefacts
The 10 Notes and Artefacts you can find throughout The Suburbs are:
Boat Note
The Suburbs, Sewers.
Once you are on the beach stay to the right near the water’s edge to find a beached vessel. Go up on the deck and through the door on your left. Go up the stairs then look to your left to find the Boat Note artefact on the chair.
Sewers Note
The Suburbs, Sewers.
Continue through the sewers to where Ellie goes through a small vent to move the red trolley out of your way allowing Joel to enter the caged room. Go up the stairs then left to find a table against the left wall upon which will be the Sewers Note artefact.
Trading Note
The Suburbs, Sewers.
Go up the ladder you use to get the pallet you use to take Ellie across the water but before getting the pallet go right instead through the white door into a room with a couple of Clickers. Crouch and walk slowly if you’re on easier difficulties or take them both out if you’re worried then go around to the left side of the room where you will find the Trading Note artefact on the floor in front of a stack of books.
Rain Catcher Note
The Suburbs, Sewers.
After you have dealt with the infected ambush down in the sewers, go through the doorway on your right when in the water and go up the stairs to come to a small storage room. Head over to the right to find the Rain Catcher Note artefact on the table in front of the large filtration tank on the blue tarpaulin.
Cornered Note
The Suburbs, Sewers.
Jump over the small wall and up the 2 sets of stairs after collecting the Rain Catcher Note artefact where you will see a wooden screen with a door behind it. Go through the door into the room then go over to the left to find the Cornered Note artefact on the floor in front of the corpses.
Kid's Drawing
The Suburbs, Sewers.
After clearing out the area of infected go up the stairs then around to the area with the children’s toys (plastic cars, easels, bookcases etc). Look to the right wall on top of the blue bookcase below the blackboard to find the Kid’s Drawing artefact.
Looting Note
The Suburbs, Suburbs.
Make your way through the greenery to the street the go into the second house on the right, the one with the small porch out front and head straight up the stairs. Go into the first room on your left to the drawer cabinet on top of which will be the Looting Note artefact.
Father's Note
The Suburbs, Suburbs.
Head around to the end of the street then look to the second to last house on the left which will be red with a balcony and a green sheet thrown over the wall. Head in to the house and go up the stairs, go into the first room on your left then go to the left wall to find a desk with the Father’s Note artefact on top of it.
Matchbook
The Suburbs, Suburbs.
Go into the last house on the street with the abandoned ice cream truck outside then go up the stairs which are in the hallway to the attic which is on the third floor. Once in the attic, look to your right to find the Matchbook artefact on the dresser.
Survivor's Note
The Suburbs, Suburbs.
After you have collected the Matchbook artefact from the attic, go back down one flight of stairs and in to the second room on your right then look to the left wall to the far side of the unit to find the Survivor’s Note artefact.
