After the cutscene where you start playing the game as Ellie you will receive 8 artefacts. Open your inventory and have a look at each one. The 8 artefacts are:
- Switchblade.
- Walkman.
- Sam’s Robot.
- Note from Mom.
- No Pun Intended: Volume Too.
- To Get To The Other Side.
- No Pun Intended.
- Joel & Sarah Note.
I recommend looking at each one just to ensure they do count towards the artefacts in the base game. Better to be safe than sorry.

Once Joel has gone through the area and closes the door he will then collect Ellie’s backpack from the shelving unit which is part of the story. Open your artefact menu and have a look at both the Firefly’s Recorder and the Lake Resort Map artefacts.

Meat Ledger

Once you have collected Ellie’s Backpack and have looked at both the Firefly’s Recorder and the Lake Resort Map artefacts turn around then look to the shelving unit next to where you collected the backpack to find the Meat Ledger artefact.
