This is your first boss fight! Defeat the Gorilla at the end of world 1 to unlock Root canal. Here are some general tips for beating the Gorilla:
- When the Gorilla slams his teeth down waves of fire will come at you. Jump over this fire to survive. The fire will come in different patterns.
- After you have jumped over the fire, start attacking the teeth with Square. This will reveal a gold hook.
- Shoot your grappling hook at the gold hook where his teeth is damaged. This will fully dislodge his tooth and damage him.
- Repeat this process until he has no more teeth left, winning the boss fight and unlocking the trophy
Explosive Date
Defeated the Octopus Boss
This is the boss at the end of world 2. Defeat the Octopus to unlock Explosive Date. Here are some general tips for beating the Octopus:
- The octopus will throw down his tentacles to remove the blocks you are standing on. These blocks will be lit up. Avoid standing on these.
- Spray the fire enemies with your water gadget and attack any enemies with Square.
- The Octopus will throw a huge ball of lava at you. Put it out before it touches Astro!
- The ball of lava will turn into a normal ball. Pick it up with Square and throw it at the Octopus.
- Repeat this process two more times to make the Octopus pass out. After he passes out, grab his hose with your water gadget and pump him full of water to make him fly away, winning the boss fight and unlocking the trophy.
Teriyaki
Defeated the Bird Boss
This is the boss at the end of world 3. Defeat the Bird to unlock Teriyaki. Here are some general tips for beating the Bird:
- Make your way to the platform using your grappling hook, like you did in earlier levels.
- The Bird will tilt the platform you are standing on. Keep jumping to not fall down.
- While you are trying not to fall off, the Bird will throw down enemies to try to knock you off. Avoid these enemies.
- Once the platform is tilted back, he will try to peck you with his beak. Make him hit the target in the ground to get his beak stuck.
- Once the Bird’s beak is stuck, hook the Bird’s glasses with your grappling hook to create a tightrope. Have Astro climb up this tightrope and damage his glasses with Square.
- The Bird will fly to a further away rock, giving you leaf platforms to jump across. Jump across these and dodge the enemy birds flying your way and go to the next platform.
- The next stage will go the same way, but a bit harder. The target on the ground will also have a metal shell around it. The Bird will need to break the shell and hit the target with its beak for you to attack it again. He will fly to the third and final island.
- This time, part of the ground will be electrified. Only use the ground that is not electrified to not get shocked.
- This time, the target will have the outer shell and two red pins holding it down. Have the Bird hit both the pins, hit the metal shell, and hit the target to get lodged.
- Once the Bird’s beak is lodged, make a tightrope up to it’s head and attack the red bulb until the Bird falls, beating the boss fight and unlocking the trophy.
Heartbreak
Defeated the Spider Boss
This is the boss at the end of world 4. Defeat the Spider to unlock Heartbreak. Here are some general tips for beating the Spider (and obtaining a trophy during it):
- When the Spider releases mini-spiders, clear them out by using your shurikens and attacking them with Astro using Square.
- Aim for the gold part of the Spider’s web while dodging it’s attacks. Once you cut all the webs with your shurikens it will fall down and you can attack it’s cheek with Square.
- Repeat this until the Spider webs up Astro. Cut it’s web with your shurikens to release him.
- Continue these steps until the Spider is all strung up, with only it’s jacket to break open. It is recommended to look away while you break it open, because that will unlock Gentleman and not require a second playthrough. After you break the jacket open you will defeat the Spider and get the trophy.
Sushi Roll
Defeated the Shark Boss
This is the boss at the end of world 5. Defeat the Shark to unlock Sushi Roll. Here are some general tips for beating the Shark:
- The Shark will fire several rounds of squid at you. Dodge these by going side to side in between them.
- When a wood platform comes up it will have several enemies and some TNT. Defeat the enemies and pick up and throw the TNT at the Shark using Square.
- The Shark will create hurdles of squid you will have to jump over. These can be pretty hard. Be sure to jump at the top of the waves to reach max height to not get hit.
- Several times, a squid will jump up and on your head, blocking your vision. Shake your head to throw it off.
- After repeating the attacks several times, the Shark will throw you up into the air on four platforms. He will fire squid-missiles onto whichever one you’re standing on, so jump from platform to platform until he’s done.
- The Shark will splash a big enough wave for you to stay underwater, but Astro to be on top. Look up to see where Astro is at, and dodge the squid.
- After a bit, Astro will be on a ship with propane tanks. Pick them up and throw them in the Shark’s mouth until it’s full using Square.
- You will then get a ball blaster. Shoot the squids out of the air flying at you and shoot the Shark when it charges you. This will blow up the Shark, winning the boss fight and unlocking the trophy.
E.T. crawl home
Defeated the Alien and completed the game
This is the final boss in the game. Select the level “Final Showdown” to start the battle. Defeat the Alien to unlock E.T. crawl home, and complete the main worlds. Here are some general tips for beating the Alien:
- The Alien has a water gun to shoot at you, jump over the water when he goes back and forth.
- The Alien also has missiles he will rain down on you. The floor will highlight showing where the missiles will land. Stay away from the highlighted area.
- Also, the Alien has shurikens to throw at you. Dodge the horizontal and vertical shurikens.
- The Alien will spike his controller onto the ground, lodging it in. Attack his fingers using Square to gain access to his controller.
- His controller has a water gun on it. Use the water gun to block his fire punches. Watch out for his fake punches! Block enough of them and he will be damaged and taker the controller away from you.
- These steps will repeat until you gain access to the controller again. The controller has shurikens on it. The Alien will swing a sword made of green block you’ve seen earlier in the game. Throw the shurikens at the blocks to ward off his attacks. He will get angry and throw the stick at you. Hit the stick with the shurikens to throw it back at him and damage him. He will take the controller back again.
- Watch out for when he spikes the controller, because he will spike it multiple times. Don’t stop running away until you see it lodged. You will take the controller again for the last time.
- The controller will have a plasma gun. Use this gun to block every toy object he throws at you, and when he’s out of toys shoot him with the gun. This will win you the boss fight and unlock the trophy.
