Portraits are collected automatically the first time you either defeat an enemy or boss as well as being catalogued upon speaking with a new NPC for the first time and there are several missable Portraits you might not find even you are fairly diligent in searching the areas. You will most certainly miss a good number of Portraits if you just focus on the story with their being secret enemies as well as optional bosses. In Black Wind Mountain you will need to ensure you defeat the Wandering Wight Boss before taking the Elder Jinchi boss down, otherwise the Wandering Wight will disappear along with not only the Portrait but the incredibly useful Wandering Wight Spirit as well. The Black Wind Mountain Portraits you can find are broken down into the following 3 categories:
Lesser Yaoguai
There are 14 Enemy Portraits you can collect in Black Wind Mountain and to see the ones you have collected you can go: Pause> Journal> Portraits> Lesser Yaoguai with the enemies you can find in Chapter 1 being:
- Wolf Scout.
- Wolf Swornsword.
- Wolf Soldier.
- Wolf Stalwart.
- Crow Diviner.
- Croaky.
- Wolf Sentinel.
- Bandit Chief. Rare.
The Bandit Chief will be found as you progress towards the Guanzhi boss arena. He will be sitting by a chest. - Wolf Archer.
- Ginsengling. Rare.
Ginsengling can be found on the West side of the area as you progress towards the Guanzhi boss arena. As you try harvesting a Ginseng Flower, Ginsengling will spawn instead. Defeat it. - Snake Patroller.
- Skeletal Snake.
- Fungling. Rare.
In the Snake graveyard before going through to the Guangmou boss arena harvest the Snake-Head Mushroom which will cause Fungling to spawn. Defeat it. - Wolf Assassin.
Yaoguai Chiefs
Yaoguai Chiefs are less formidable bosses in Black Myth Wukong although they do still pose a serious challenge for the most part. There are 4 Yaoguai Cheifs in Black Wind Mountain. Below we have guides for how to defeat every Yaoguai Chief in Black Wind Mountain. Ensure you defeat the Wandering Wight boss before taking on Elder Jinchi other the Wandering Wight will disappear. The order I recommend you take down the Yaoguai Chiefs are:
- Bullguard.

Yaoguai Kings
Yaoguai Kings are usually tough bosses who have a much higher health> defence ratio than the Yaoguai Chiefs, harder hitting more varied move sets and generally better rewards. The Yaoguai Kings can either be story or optional, all of which you need to take down and there are 4 Yaoguai Kings to be found as you progress through Black Wind Mountain with them being as follows:
- Lingxuzi.
