Here we will go over all the Black Myth Wukong Chapter 5 bosses of which there are 18 with 9 mandatory story bosses and 9 optional bosses with none of which are missable as long as you get them all before you defeat the Yaksha King. There are several Cart bosses which you need to defeat in order to gain access to the Bishui Cave which is the secret area in the Flaming Mountains. Bosses are either main cinematic experiences or smaller fights either way, a boss for all intents and purposes is any enemy who has their health bar appear on screen and are a much greater challenge than the regular enemies and where the main difficulty in the game can be found. Some bosses as you are on the main path should be left for later as you will more than likely not be strong enough when you get to them at first, however, if you have the skills you can take them on. The bosses you can find throughout Chapter 5, their locations, rewards you will receive and the order I recommend you take them down are:

Pale Axe Stalwart
Location: Flaming Mountains, Woods of Ember, Ashen Pass I.
Rewards: None.
You will face the Pale Axe Stalwart boss in the Ashen Pass I region and it can be a potentially damaging fight as you will have a good number of Bull Soldiers as well as attacks from the Brown-Iron Cart.
Brown-Iron Cart
Location: Flaming Mountains, Woods of Ember, Ashen Pass I.
Rewards: x1,778 XP, x1,780 Will, Refined Iron Sand.
The Brown-Iron Cart boss will be blocking your way through the Flaming Mountains. Equip anything you have to help reduce fire damage such as the Fireproof Mantle Vessel.
Father Of Stones
Location: Flaming Mountains, Woods of Ember, Height of Ember.
Rewards: x1,778 XP, x1,752 Will, Refined Iron Sand, Knot of Voidness, Father of Stones Spirit.
You will need to defeat the Father of Stones in order to progress through the Flaming Mountains.
Gray-Bronze Cart
Location: Flaming Mountains, Woods of Ember, Height of Ember.
Rewards: x1,778 XP, x1,762 Will, x2 Silk, Cold Iron Leaves.
The Gray-Bronze Cart boss will be another Cart blocking your way through the Flaming Mountains. Take care before you go to the end of the gulley as you will be straight into the next boss fight so rest if you need to before going through to the next boss.
Quick As Fire, Fast As Wind
Location: Flaming Mountains, Woods of Ember, Height of Ember.
Rewards: x5,494 XP, x4,456 Will, Refined Iron Sand, Gold Tree Core.
The Quick as Fire, Fast as Wind boss can be a challenge as unless you are using Thrust Stance most of your attacks won’t be able to reach the flying head so deal with the rolling one first then immobilize the flying head when it comes low to the ground and punish.
Flint Chief
Location: Flaming Mountains, Furnace Valley, Valley Entrance.
Rewards: x1,778 XP, x1,735 Will, x2 Silk, Cold Iron Leaves, Knot of Voidness, Samadhi Fire Crystal, Flint Chief Spirit.
The Flint Chief can be found by going left pass the first Earth Rakshasa enemy in the cavern from the Valley Entrance shrine. Equip the Fireproof Mantle Vessel to have a much easier time of it during the fight as it negates damage from lava.
Cloudy Mist, Misty Cloud
Location: Flaming Mountains, Furnace Valley, Valley Entrance.
Rewards: x5,494 XP, x4,456 Will, x2 Cold Iron Leaves, Knot of Voidness, Fine Gold Thread, Misty Cloud, Cloudy Mist Spirit.
The Cloudy Mist, Misty Cloud boss can be a bit of a brick wall in the Flaming Mountains as they hit very hard, can phase in and out of the arena and come often team up where one stuns you with a blinding flash of light and the other then smashes you in the face with a burning log.
Keeper Of Flaming Mountains & Yin Yang Fish
Location: Flaming Mountains, Furnace Valley, Emerald Hall.
Rewards: x3,882 XP, x3,096 Will, Celestial Ribbon, Fine Gold Thread x2, Yin-Yang Daoist Robe chest armour.
The Keeper of Flaming Mountains is an opponent who summons mobs to take you down then Ma Tianba who can wreck you if you get complacent. Conserve your resources as once the Keeper is down you will be straight in to a tough fight against the Yin Yang Fish.
Crimson-Silver Cart
Location: Flaming Mountains, Furnace Valley, Emerald Hall.
Rewards: x1,778 XP, x1,7654 Will, Refined Iron Sand.
The Crimson-Silver Cart will be waiting for you as you climb the slopes to the Ashen Pass III shrine. Unlock the previous 2 Carts this one can move around making it a lot more lethal.
Nine-Capped Lingzhi Guai
Location: Flaming Mountains, Field of Fire, Ashen Pass III.
Rewards: x1,778 XP, x1,756 Will, x2 Silk, Cold Iron Leaves, Knot of Voidness, Earth Spirit Cap headgear armour, Nine-Capped Lingzhi Seed, Nine-Capped Lingzhi Guai Spirit.
Go into the area behind the Ashen Pass III shrine then try to harvest the Nine-Capped Lingzhi Mushroom which spawns the highly Venomous Nine-Capped Lingzhi Guai boss who is weak to fire.
Flint Vanguard
Location: Flaming Mountains, Field of Fire, Furnace Valley Crater.
Rewards: 1,778 XP, x1,746 Will, x2 Silk, Cold Iron Leaves, Knot of Voidness, Samadhi Fire Crystal, Flint Vanguard Spirit.
The Flint Vanguard can be found by going left down the hill once the Samadhi Fires have been extinguished, approach the stones in the centre of the arena which then spawns the Flint Vanguard boss.
Mother Of Flamlings
Location: Flaming Mountains, Field of Fire, Furnace Valley Crater.
Rewards: x1,778 XP, x1,766 Will, Refined Iron Sand, Knot of Voidness, Samadhi Fire Crystal, Mother of Flamlings Spirit.
After you have dealt with the Flint Vanguard boss, ensure you have 4 Flame Ore which are harvested from Scorching-Fire and Searing-Fire enemies or purchased from the Furnace Valley Crater shrine then continue down the slope and summon the Mother from the glowing rock.
Rusty-Gold Cart
Location: Flaming Mountains, Field of Fire, Cooling Slope.
Rewards: x2,587 XP, x2,324 Will, x2 Cold Iron Leaves, Mind Core, Fine Gold Thread, Flame Orb Curios.
The Rusty Gold Cart can be fought in the Cooling Slope region of the Flaming Mountains at the end of the Rusty Carts quest and can be a ferocious adversary who comes at you with very hard hitting melee and fire based attacks.
Baw-Lang-Lang
Location: Flaming Mountains, Field of Fire, Cooling Slope.
Rewards: x1,778 XP, x1,787 Will, x2 Silk, Cold Iron Leaves, Tadpole.
Before you can take on Baw-Lang-Lang who is a fire and melee based boss you can find hiding in the far reach of a cavern in the Flaming Mountains you will firstly need to have completed the Rusty Carts quest.
Top Takes Bottom, Bottom Takes Top
Location: Flaming Mountains, Bishui Caves, Purge Pit.
Rewards: x5,494 XP, x4,456 Will, Refined Iron Sand, Gold Tree Core.
The Top Takes Bottom, Bottom Takes Top boss can be fought in the Bishui Caves region of the Flaming Mountains and can be tough as you will either have a 2 vs 1 fight or need to deal with a ball smashing down on you with potentially one shot flame AOE attacks that can fill the arena.
Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast
Location: Flaming Mountains, Bishui Caves, Corridor of Fire and Ice.
Rewards: The Bull King’s Iron Horn x3, Celestial Ribbon, Bishui Beast Bit, Fine Gold Thread, Mind Core, Daoist’s Basket of Fire and Water Curios.
The Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast boss can be found at the back of the Bishui Caves which is accessible by firstly completing the Rusty Carts quest then going through to the Corridor of Fire and Ice shrine.
Red Boy
Location: Flaming Mountains, Field of Fire, Furnace Valley Crater.
Rewards: x6,065 XP, x4,353 Will.
Red Boy is a tough boss who you can fight at the end of the Field of Fire region mainly due to the fact he can duplicate then slam into you so use a Transformation to save your own health then learn the attack patterns as you work towards getting the win.
Yaksha King
Location: Flaming Mountains, Field of Fire, Furnace Valley Crater.
Rewards: Grieved Body Relic, x6,065 XP, x4,466 Will, Plantain Fan Vessel, Fine Gold Thread, Celestial Ribbon, x2 Gold Tree Core, Kun Steel, Mind Core.
The Yaksha King boss fight will begin directly after the Red Boy fight and if you have taken a beating it might be better to stand there and lose to the Yaksha King then get back in there at full strength as the Yaksha King will be one of the toughest bosses you will have fought up to this point in the game.
