Feng-Tail General

Location: Mount Huaguo, Foothills, Verdant Path.
Rewards: Golden Feng-Tail Crown Headgear Armour (Mythical).
The Feng-Tail General is a boss you won’t need to fight, you will, however, need to have a high amount of Stamina and I strongly recommend you have the Fireproof Mantle Vessel equipped. You will have enough Stamina if you have been following along with the Medicine Meal trophy guide then once you’re ready, hop on the Somersault Cloud then fly West to the solitary rock platform which the Feng-Tail General will jump to. Land on the back of the General then hold on to its antennae, keep holding R2 until the General has made 2 jumps. If your Stamina bar runs out you will fall off and you’ll need to start the process again.

At the end of the jumps you will need to hold the antennae again where this time you will take a lot of Burn damage so having the Fireproof Mantle equipped will reduce the damage incurred. Hold on long enough to “defeat” the boss and acquire the Golden Feng-Tail Crown Headgear Armour (Mythical grade).

Keep your distance then get in there as it recovers until the Son of Stones boss has been defeated. Counts towards Portraits Perfected.

Rewards: x2,052 XP, x2,054 Will, x1 Cold Iron Leaves, Mind Core, Fine Gold Thread.
The Poison Chief is a boss who you can fight in 4 different locations throughout Mount Huaguo and to help keep your bearings we will list them off from the same shrine, Verdant Path, only the first Poison Chief will count towards Portraits Perfected, the other 3 are there for something to beat on and as they drop resources, we’ll list them off. So for the first Poison Chief you can fly pass the chains and out to the river then head West You will see a ridge one level down from the highest land point which should be on your left upon which will be a lake. Drop down onto the land then run forward and take out the optional Poison Chief boss. Counts towards Portraits Perfected.

Poison Chief (Second Encounter)

The second Poison Chief boss can be found by flying forward to the Supreme Inspector boss arena then go straight up and over the cliffs. Stay the course and drop down into the clearing behind the trees then put the second Poison Chief boss down.

Giant Shigandang

Location: Mount Huaguo, Foothills, Verdant Path.
Rewards: Skandha of Consciousness.
The Giant Shigandang boss is situated at the end of a ravine you can access via the Somersault Cloud, however, before you can fight the boss you will firstly need to have acquired the 4 Skandha’s which are optional collectibles in the first 4 Chapters of the game which can be found at the following locations:

  1. Skandha of Form. Black Wind Mountain, Forest of Wolves, Front Hill.
  2. Skandha of Feeling. Yellow Wind Ridge, Rockrest Flat.
  3. Skandha of Thought. The New West, Valley of Ecstasy, Mindfulness Cliff.
  4. Skandha of Choice. The Webbed Ridge, Webbed Hollow, The Purifying Spring.

With the first 4 Skandha’s found, cross the river going straight across then look behind where the Son of Stones boss was on the right side of the area to find the ravine you can glide through. Drop down carefully as the Cloud will disappear as soon as the boss awakens and it can be an embarrassing fall to your death if you go to far into the arena (I did). Stay back from the Giant Shigandang boss then smash the blue crystals on its fists to damage it. Counts towards Medicine Meal.

Skandha of Consciousness

Location: Mount Huaguo, Foothills, Verdant Path.
With the optional Giant Shigandang boss defeated you can then run up its left arm (on your right) where a cutscene will kick in after which you will receive the Mythical Skandha of Consciousness. Counts towards Medicine Meal.

Rest at the Rhino Watch Slope then drop down to the lower level to the North East of the river on the Somersault Cloud which leads to a dried out section of land. Get close to awaken Lang-Baw-Baw, a powerful, stone Frog who, on the first try will have a few Soldiers trying to help you but they get in the way more than help so if you take a loss its not the worse thing. You can then go back 1 vs 1 on all subsequent attempts and given how tough this Frog is there may be a good few attempts needed to come away with win. Counts towards A Clamor of Frogs.

Tadpole

Location: Mount Huaguo, Foothills, Rhino Watch Slope.
You will be awarded the Tadpole once the Lang-Baw-Baw boss has been defeated. As long as you have been following along with the guides you will now be able to fully upgrade the Baw-Li-Guhh-Lang Spirit which dramatically increases its power and uses a random element every time you use the Spirit.

Unlock Clamor of Frogs

Location: Mount Huaguo, Foothills, Rhino Watch Slope.
Providing the optional Lang-Baw-Baw boss was the final Frog you needed to defeat in Black Myth Wukong you will unlock A Clamor of Frogs. The previous 5 Frogs you could have fought in case you didn’t unlock the trophy are:

With the Celestial Birthstone Fragment Curios acquired, as long as you have been following along with the A Curios Collection trophy guide this should be the last Curios you needed which will then unlock A Curious Collection.

Location: Mount Huaguo, Foothills, Rhino Watch Slope.
Rewards: Gold Suozi Armour Chest Armour (Mythical), x2,986 XP, x2,710 Will, x2 Cold Iron Leaves, Fine Gold Thread, Mind Core.
The Gold Armoured Rhino is a mandatory boss and one who is a serious challenge thanks mostly to the horn which is impervious to damage unless you smash it off where it then becomes a weak point for a short while until it grows back. In the meantime you will have a lot of lightning, swiping, stomping and charging attacks to avoid and work around. Use the Wandering Wight Spirit for an easy smash then utilise a Qi Build to quickly get the Wandering Wight back.

Gold Suozi Armour Chest Armour (Mythical)

Location: Mount Huaguo, Foothills, Rhino Watch Slope.
You will receive the Gold Suozi Armor Chest Armour (Mythical) upon defeating the Gold Armoured Rhino boss. Counts towards Guardian of Gear and Mantled with Might.

Cloudtreading Deer

Location: Mount Huaguo, Foothills, Deer Sight Forest.
Rewards: Lotus Silk Cloudtreaders Leg Armour (Mythical), Mind Core.
The Cloudtreading Deer is a mandatory 2 phase boss who is up there as one of the most frustrating enemies in the game as its hitboxes are somewhat broken and regardless of how efficient you are at dodging this thing can seemingly hit you out of nowhere, if ever a boss needed patching in Black Myth Wukong, this is the one. Even the Plantain Fan won’t save you from the tornados that appear. You might need to spend a good number of hours levelling up to the point you can stand toe to toe with the Deer as the first phase is brutal enough when its Frost based. The Second phase brings out the Venom and some half health hitting attacks that again are a nightmare to avoid. Overcome and defeat both phases.

Lotus Silk Cloudtreaders Leg Armour (Mythical)

Location: Mount Huaguo, Foothills, Deer Sight Forest.
You will receive the Lotus Silk Cloudtreaders leg armour (Mythical) upon defeating both phases of the mandatory Cloudtreading Deer. Counts towards Guardian of Gear and Mantled with Might.

Emerald-Armed Mantis

Location: Mount Huaguo, Foothills, Mantis-Catching Swamp.
The Emerald-Armed Mantis is a mandatory boss who you will fight inside of Zhu Bajie which is less disgusting when you realise you are in his stomach rather than any other cavity and this fight is severely challenging as the Mantis moves incredibly fast, hits harder than nearly any other boss and has a decent amount of health. Use the Thrust Stance, the Golden lining Transformation and the Apramana Bat Spirit to get the edge then punish quickly with Immobilize before finishing the bug off for good.

Dian-Cui Loong-Soaring Bracers Arm Armour (Mythical)

Location: Mount Huaguo, Foothills, Mantis-Catching Swamp.
You will receive the Dian-Cui loong-Soaring Bracers Arm Armour (Mythical) once the Emerald-Armed Mantis boss has been defeated. Counts towards Guardian of Gear and Mantled with Might.

Jingubang

Location: Mount Huaguo, Foothills, Mantis-Catching Swamp.
Enter the Water Curtain Cave which is directly West on the map from the Mantis-Catching Swamp shrine then follow the path through the waterfall then round to Wukong’s throne where you will see a giant Staff stretching out into the heavens. Approach it to trigger a cutscene during which you will acquire the Mythical Jingubang. Counts towards Guardian of Gear and Staffs and Spears.

Unlock Guardian of Gear

Location: Mount Huaguo, Foothills, Mantis-Catching Swamp.
You will unlock Guardian of Gear once you have acquired all 5 pieces of Sun Wukong’s Armour and Weapon.

Stone Monkey

Location: Mount Huaguo, Birthstone, Heart of Birthstone.
Upon entering the rock where Sun Wukong’s memory lies you will be placed in a fight against Stone Monkey which is a brutal 2 phase boss fight that can challenge every part of your ability. Put the first and second phase Stone Monkey boss down with the second being able to duplicate itself. Use any gear that aids you in water to help overcome the threat like the Waterward Orb Curios and Serpentscale Chest Armour (upgraded of course).

The Great Sage's Broken Shell

Location: Mount Huaguo, Birthstone, Heart of Birthstone.
The final boss (not including the ones needed for the secret ending, but we’ll do them in new game plus to make things easier) will be against the memory of Sun Wukong which takes place over a very tough 2 phase fight. Try and save all of your resources for the second phase where Wukong will steal all of your Relics and go full God mode on you. This fight will be a challenge but then again, it is the final boss so it’s supposed to be. Go and level up some more if you are struggling to put him down then come back with upgraded gear and put him down which rolls the credits.

Credits

With the, The Great Sage’s Broken Shell boss defeated, watch the cutscene which then rolls the credits concluding the game. I recommend checking over the first 5 walkthroughs in the game before enetering a new cycle as in doing so you will be back at the start of the game albeit with your gear but if you have missed anything it would be a shame to leave it in your first playthrough. The previous 5 walkthroughs we have put together are:

  1. Chapter 1 Walkthrough.
  2. Chapter 2 Walkthrough.
  3. Chapter 3 Walkthrough.
  4. Chapter 4 Walkthrough.
  5. Chapter 5 Walkthrough.

That’s the Black Myth Wukong New Game Plus walkthrough complete, did it help you through Mount Huaguo?.
