Location: Yellow Wind Ridge, Yellow Wind Formation, Windseal Gate.

Slide down the sand slope from the Yellow Wind Ridge, Fright Cliff, Rock Clash Platform Shrine after defeating the Stone Vanguard, acquire the A Pluck of Many Spell then follow the path up. Look over to your left at the right turn to see the Gore-Eye Daoist boss examining the cliff who you can hit to start the boss fight and it can be one that will end very quickly if you’re under levelled so it might be safer to come back later unless you’re feeling confident. Get ready to be peppered with hard hitting attacks most of which will inflict the Poison bane on you.

The Gore-Eye Daoist loves to slam its staff into the ground and create wide red pools that enhance its attacks as well as spewing out projectiles that inflict heavy damage in a wide arc making them hard to avoid. Use the rock in the centre of the arena to take cover if you can or dodge away a few times to get enough distance between you and the boss.

Cloud Step can be a very useful Spell in this fight especially if you have put some Sparks points into the skill tree as you will get a clone allowing you to heal then unleash a powerful kick that can stagger the Daoist allowing you to get the start of a combo or a jumping heavy attack in.

If you do get hit by the red mist you will probably have the Venom bane inflicted on you so heal up or end the fight quickly as you will be continuously losing health meaning one hard hit can easily send you back to the Shrine. Spirits such as Second Rat Prince or Wandering Wight are usually safe bets as they can stagger the boss long enough to get a heal in then keep attacking until you bring the Gore-Eye Daoist down not forgetting to absorb the Spirit he drops which is key to unlocking some serious damage dealing potential in the later game.
