Black Myth Wukong Headgear Armour
Here we will go over all of the Black Myth Wukong Headgear Armour of which there are 18 pieces to collect and craft as you progress through the game. Some Headgear armour will drop from bosses or tough enemies where as other armour pieces need to be crafted at a shrine providing you have the required materials. Armour plays a very important role in Black Myth Wukong as it can change your build considerably giving you a significant edge if you have the correct pieces of gear equipped, there’s not much point having Frost Bane Resistance for example if you are facing a Scorch Bane based enemy.
Headgear Armour
Collecting all of the Headgear armour will count towards Mantled with Might which requires you to collect all 74 Armour pieces in the game and the 18 Headgear pieces you need to acquire in Black Myth Wukong are as follows:
- Pilgrim’s Headband.
- Grey Wolf Mask.
- Bronze Monkey Mask.
- Galeguard Beast Mask.
- Snout Mask.
- Monastic Insect Hat.
- See No Evil.
- Iron Horned Helm.
- Golden Mask of Fury.
- Locust Antennae Mask.
- Non-Pure Broken Mask.
- Centipede Hat of Transcendence.
- Skull of Turtle Treasure.
- Earth Spirit Cap.
- Yaksha Mask of Outrage.

Pilgrim's Headband
Location: Black Wind Mountain, Forest of Wolves, Guanyin Temple.
Requirements: Craft at Shrine.
Cost: Yarn x4., Will x1,000.
Proceed through the Forest of Wolves to where the Keeper of Black Wind Mountain calls you over to warn you about the Lingxuzi boss. Rest at the shrine then choose to Craft the Pilgrim’s Headband.
Grey Wolf Mask
Location: Black Wind Mountain, Forest of Wolves, Guanyin Temple.
Requirements: Defeat Lingxuzi.
Defeat the Lingxuzi boss to receive the Grey Wolf Mask.
Bronze Monkey Mask
Location: Black Wind Mountain, Ancient Guanyin Temple, Grand Chamber.
Requirements: Craft at Shrine.
Cost: x2 Silk, x4 Yarn, x1,800 Will.
Firstly, ring all 3 Bells in Black Wind Mountain then defeat the Elder Jinchi boss in the Ancient Guanyin Temple. Ensure you have defeated the Wandering Wight boss first then from here go to a shrine and choose to Craft the Bronze Monkey Mask.
Galeguard Beast Mask
Location: Yellow Wind Ridge, Fright Cliff, Rockrest Flat.
Requirements: Craft at Shrine.
Cost: x2 Silk, x4 Yarn, x1,800 Will.
Go through Fright Cliff and defeat the Stone Vanguard boss which then allows you to craft the Galeguard Beast Mask at the Shrine.
Snout Mask
Location: Yellow Wind Ridge, Fright Cliff, Rockrest Flat.
Requirements: Complete the Drunken Boar Quest.
The Drunken Boar quest can be started and finished in the Yellow Wind Ridge, Fright Cliff, Rockrest flat biome, once the Yellow-Robed Squire has been defeated you will be awarded the Snout Mask.
Monastic Insect Hat
Location: Yellow Wind Ridge, Kingdom of Sahali, Sandgate Bound.
Requirements: Craft at Shrine.
Cost: x4 Silk, x2 Cold Iron Leaves, x3,600 Will.
You will be able to craft the Monastic Insect Hat once the Fuban boss has been defeated in the secret area: Kingdom of Sahali which is accessible once the Drunken Boar quest has been completed.
See No Evil
Location: The New West, New Thunderclap Temple, Temple Entrance.
Requirements: Farm Blind Monks.
Blood Monks are tough enemies found in New Thunderclap Temple and it can be a challenge to bring them down as one of their punches can knock you down regardless of the move you are doing (4 Focus Points is the only attack I’ve found they can’t power through). There is 1 Blind Monk down the stairs from the Temple Entrance over to the right of the building or if you are tough enough to handle multiple Blind Monks at once then go right from the Temple Entrance shrine then follow the path round to the 3 Monks hitting the tree. Either way, continue to defeat Blind Monks until one of them drops the See No Evil Headgear.
Golden Mask Of Fury
Location: The Webbed Ridge,
Requirements: Craft at Shrine.
Cost: x4 Cold Iron Leaves, x2 Fine Gold Thread, x6,600 Will.
You can craft the Golden Mask of Fury once the Yellowbrow boss has been defeated which concludes your time in The New West.
Locust Antennae Mask
Location: The Webbed Ridge, Webbed Hollow, Upper Hollow.
Requirements: Farm Grasshopper Guai.
The Locust Antennae Mask has a low chance of dropping from Grasshopper Guai who are green bug-like Humanoid enemies who attack you quickly with their incisor claws. You can find a Grasshopper Guai just pass the Upper Hollow shrine who will spawn from a Cocoon, or another will spawn from a cocoon in the Verdure Bridge region once you go forward from the shrine. There are plenty of other places you can find Grasshopper Guai, I for example acquired the Locust Antennae Mask the first time I killed a Grasshopper Guai in the Village of Lanxi but it’s just luck as to when the headgear will drop.
Non-Pure Broken Mask
Location: The Webbed Ridge, Webbed Hollow, Purifying Spring.
Requirements: Craft at shrine.
Cost: x4 Cold Iron Leaves, x2 Fine Gold Thread, x7,200 Will.
You can craft the Non-Pure Broken Mask at the shrine once the Zhu Bajie boss has been defeated.
Iron Horned Helm
Location: The Webbed Ridge, Temple of Yellow Flowers, Court of Illumination.
Requirements: Craft at shrine.
Cost: The Duskveils’s Horn, x4 Cold Iron Leaves, x2 Fine Gold Thread, 6,400 Will.
The Iron Horned Helm can be crafted at a shrine once you have taken down the optional Yin Tiger boss in Zodiac Village, accessible by completing the Chen Loong quest, you can then continue through the game to Purple Cloud Mountain where the optional Duskveil boss can be defeated which I strongly recommend doing after you defeat the optional The Scorpionlord boss otherwise Duskveil will kill the Scorpionlord. With Duskveil down you can then craft the Iron-Horned Helm at the shrine.
Centipede Hat Of Transcendence
Location: Flaming Mountains, Woods of Ember, Ashen Pass I.
Requirements: Craft at Shrine.
Cost: x4 Cold Iron Leaves, x2 Fine Gold Thread, x7,500 Will.
You can craft the Centipede Hat of Transcendence at the shrine once the Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master boss has been defeated.
Skull Of Turtle Treasure
Location: Flaming Mountains, Woods of Ember, Height of Ember.
Requirements: Farm Turtle Treasure.
The Skull of Turtle Treasure is a Headgear item which drops from an enemy of the same name, Turtle Treasure, one of whom can be found in the Longevity Road region of The New West, however, you will have a lot more success by going down the hill from the Father of Stones boss arena staying right as you go. Defeat the Turtle Treasure then continue to defeat the Turtle Treasure until you receive the Skull of Turtle Treasure Headgear.
Earth Spirit Cap
Location: Flaming Mountains, Field of Fire, Ashen Pass III.
Requirements: Defeat Nine-Capped Lingzhi Guai.
Rest at the Ashen Pass III shrine then enter the area behind and try to harvest the Nine-Capped Lingzhi Guai Mushroom in the centre which spawns the Nine-Capped Lingzhi Guai boss who, once defeated will drop the Earth Spirit Cap.
Yaksha Mask Of Outrage
Location: Mount Huaguo.
Requirements: Craft at shrine.
Cost: x4 Cold Iron Leaves, x2 Fine Gold Thread, x8,100 Will.
You can craft the Yaksha Mask of Outrage at the shrine once the Yaksha King boss has been defeated which concludes Chapter 5.
Golden Feng-Tail Crown
Location: Mount Huaguo, Foothills, Verdant Path.
Once the Supreme Inspector boss has been defeated you will have access to the Somersault Cloud Spell so hop on then go back to the start of Mount Huaguo whilst staying low to get your bearings. At the end of the path fly up and over to your left then drop down looking back the way you came to see a chest against the foliage. Open it to receive the Lotus Silk Cloudtreaders.
Golden Feng-Tail Crown Mythical
Location: Mount Huaguo, Foothills, Verdant Path.
You will be awarded the Golden Feng-Tail Crown (Mythical) once the mandatory Feng-Tail General has been defeated which is made a lot easier if you have been following along with the Medicine Meal guide to increase your stamina then also having the Fireproof Mantle Vessel equipped. You can then fly South West along the river to the rock where the Feng-Tail general will jump on to. Land on its back then hold R2 to grip the antennae then hold R2 again where you will survive the burning with the Fireproof Mantle Vessel equipped. Survive long enough to receive the Golden Feng-Tail General Headgear.
Bull King's Mask
Location: Flaming Mountains,
Requirements: Craft at shrine.
Cost: x2 The Bull King’s Iron Horn, x2 Fine Gold Thread, x2 Celestial Ribbon, x9,999 Will.
The Bull King’s Mask can technically be crafted once the optional Bishui Golden-Eyed boss has been defeated in the Bishui Caves which is the secret area of the Flaming Mountains, however, as per the chapter 5 walkthrough I recommend crafting the Chest Armour, Arm Armour and Leg Armour first then waiting until new game plus to craft the Bull King’s Mask where you will need to go through the Bishui Caves again and acquire more Bull King’s Iron Horn.
That’s where to find all the Black Myth Wukong Headgear Armour pieces, which one is your favourite?.
