The Macaque Chief is a surprisingly hard hitting boss and one who can ruin you very quickly with powerful combos and ice attacks which freeze you in place leaving you open to more attacks until you manage to break free. One of the more deadly aspects of this fight is the fact the Chief has a very long reach which can easily catch you out so ensure you double dodge to avoid the majority of slashes.
Do your best to avoid the jumping slashes and the stabbing attacks and considering you only need to drop the Macaque Chief to about 20% health use every Spell, Spirit and ability you have to bring him down which will cause him to disappear concluding the first encounter.
