Here is the Black Myth Wukong Medicine Meal trophy guide which will help you find all of the Celestial Pills scattered throughout the game all of which considerably boost your health, mana and stamina making them very useful to increase your chances of survival. There are 1 of each type of Pill you can find out in each of the first 5 chapters making 15 Pills in total. There is then 1 special pill you need to find in the final chapter of the game which is hidden behind a secret boss.
You can also craft Medicine Pills with Xu Dog to boost your stats but these won’t be counted towards the trophy. All of the Pills below will be listed in the order I recommend you collect them in the various walkthroughs we have put together which will help you collect everything in the game you need for the Platinum. The 3 types of Celestial Pills you can find throughout the game are:
- Celestial Jade Lotus Pills: The Jade Lotus Pills increases your health.
- Celestial Taiyi Pills: The Taiyi Pill increases your mana.
- Celestial Nonary Pills: The Nonary Pills increases your stamina.
I will break the pills down as you can find them chapter by chapter which are:
Black Wind Mountain
The Celestial Pills in the Black Wind Mountain can be found in the following order:
Celestial Jade Lotus Pill
Location: Forest of Wolves, Guanyin Temple.
The Jade Lotus Pill can be found in a chest to the left of the building after you have defeated the Lingxuzi boss.
Celestial Taiyi Pill
Location: Bamboo Grove, Marsh of White Mist.
Once you have defeated the Whiteclad Noble boss, go through into the cave then as you get to the right turn up the stairs you need to instead go left out on the wooden walkway where you will find a Meditation Spot as well as a chest on a table which holds the Celestial Taiyi Pill.
Celestial Nonary Pill
Location: Black Wind Cave, Outside the Cave.
Make your way up through the small Army of enemies, take out the Bullguard then go up the ramp to the hut on the left where, as long as the area is safe you can loot the Celestial Nonary Pill from the chest.
Yellow Wind Ridge
All of the Celestial Pills are found in areas you won’t need to go to if you’re solely focusing on the story and 2 of them are guarded by enemies with them being obtainable in the following order:
Celestial Taiyi Pill
Location: Fright Cliff, Rock Clash Platform.
After defeating the Stone Vanguard boss you will be able to go through the back of the arena to the Rock Clash biome. Go right after resting at the shrine then look to your right to see the chest which holds the Celestial Taiyi Pill.
Celestial Nonary Pill
Location: Sandgate Valley, Village of Despair.
Go left from the Valley of Despair shrine and head down into the caverns, go up through the crack in the wall, take down the Swift Bat then smash through the wooden barricade at the back of the area. Take out the 2 Swift Bats in this cave then loot the Celestial Nonary Pill from the chest at the back of the cavern.
Celestial Jade Lotus Pill
Location: Crouching Tiger Temple, Cellar.
Go up the stairs from the Crouching Tiger Temple shrine then defeat the powerful Tiger Vanguard (King) boss. Then, as long as you have also defeated the Stone Vanguard boss you can interact with the statue up the stairs form the bloodbath to reveal a Tiger’s face whose mouth you can jump in to which leads down to the Cellar. Take out the villagers then loot the Celestial Jade Lotus Pill from the chest on the left before going down the stairs.
The New West
Only 1 of the Pills will be on the main path, the other 2 are considerably out of the way in places you would only find if you are an avid explorer. They can be found in the following order:
Celestial Taiyi Pill
Location: Pagoda Realm, Outside the Wheel.
Once the Captain Wise-Voice boss has been defeated follow the path from the shrine then loot the Celestial Taiyi Pill which is in a chest on a table to your right. Smash through the fence afterwards to find another Meditation Spot hidden on a frozen lake.
Celestial Jade Lotus Pill
Location: Bitter Lake, Turtle Island.
After the cut scene where you end up on the Turtle you will be in a fight against the Kang-Jin Star boss. Rest at the Turtle Island shrine then go off to your left dropping down to the lowest level where you will find the Celestial Jade Lotus Pill in a chest tucked against the cliff.
Celestial Nonary Pill
Location: New Thunderclap Temple, Temple Entrance.
From the Temple Entrance go forward through the first building then follow the path left pass the Mages. Go through the dark building with the Blind Monks taking a right then right again leading you out to a snow field. Follow the frozen river to the end where you will need to take out several enemies before being able to loot the Celestial Nonary Pill from the chest.
The Webbed Ridge
The Webbed Ridge is a dangerous area to be in at the best of times and if you want to acquire all 3 Celestial pills you will need to ensure you do so before defeating the Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master who concludes the chapter. The Celestial Pills you can find in the fourth chapter can be found in the following order:
Celestial Jade Lotus Pill
Location: The Webbed Ridge, Village of Lanxi, Estate of the Zhu.
You will need to defeat the, The Second Sister boss then go behind the hole Zhu Bajie digs where you will find the chest which holds the Celestial Jade Lotus Pill.
Celestial Taiyi Pill
Location: The Webbed Ridge, Webbed Hollow, Cliff of Oblivion.
Work through the Webbed Ridge until you take on and defeat the mandatory Boddhisatva’s Right Hand boss then once the Princess has made a bridge from the boss’s corpse cross it then go immediately up to the left where you will find a chest that contains the Celestial Taiyi Pill.
Celestial Nonary Pill
Location: The Webbed Ridge, Temple of Yellow Flowers, Court of Illumination.
The Celestial Nonary Pill can be found in the Court of Illumination region, however, before you can enter the section behind the shrine you will firstly need to have collected the first 3 Purple Altar Talismans during the Purple Talisman Quest. You can then go up the stairs behind the Court of Illumination Shrine and enter the purple barrier where you will be ambushed by the Supreme Inspector boss who you need to strip some health from. After the fight you can then go through to the back of the area and loot the Celestial Nonary Pill from the chest.
Flaming Mountains
The Flaming Mountains can be a dangerous place so finding Pills to increase your base stats can only be a good thing. The Pills are either hidden behind tough bosses or in the Secret area of the chapter and can be found in the following order:
Celestial Jade Lotus Pill
Location: Flaming Mountains, Woods of Ember, Ashen Pass II.
The Celestial Jade Lotus Pill will be in a chest over to the right of the area opposite the Ashen Pass II shrine which you will come to having defeated the Quick as Fire, Fast as Wind boss.
Celestial Taiyi Pill
Location: Flaming Mountains, Furnace Valley, Rakshasa Palace.
Rest at the Rakshasa Palace shrine then look behind the shrine to see an open area where you can find the chest which holds the Celestial Taiyi Pill.
Celestial Nonary Pill
Location: Flaming Mountains, Bishui Caves, Purge Pit.
The final Celestial Nonary Pill you can find will be in the Bishui Caves which is accessible once you defeated the Rusty-Gold Cart in the Cooling Slope region accessible one you have defeated the Red Boy boss then lost to the Yaksha King. Speak with the Pale-Axe Stalwart to open the door leading down to the pillar you can interact with in the cave. Follow the linear path round then take out the Top Takes Bottom, Bottom Takes Top boss which allows you to continue through the caves. With the first 4 Skandha’s found, approach the Giant Shigandang boss and defeat it by staying out of range then running forward for the attack until the behemoth is down. You can then run up the arm on your right (the Giant Shigandang’s left) which triggers a cutscene with a Monkey ripping an eye out which then becomes the Skandha of Consciousness. then unlocks Medicine Meal.
Now that you have all 5 Skandha’s you can then go to the Zodiac Village (accessible once the Chen Loongs quest has been completed) and speak with Xu Dog choosing the “Show the Five Skandhas” dialogue option where Xu Dog will then create the Five Skandha’s Pill which then unlocks Medicine Meal.
