Here we will go over how to complete the Black Myth Wukong Old Rattle-Drum quest which can be started in Yellow Wind Ridge and requires you to take down 2 tough bosses, the rewards are worth it though. You will receive the Old Rattle-Drum once the Tiger’s Acolyte boss has been defeated, you then need to go to 3 different sections in the Yellow Wind Ridge then press R2 to shake the Rattle-Drum which will then initiate a working cut-scene which will awaken all enemies in the local area. One you get to the third and final area you will need to drop the well and fight a very powerful boss so ensure you’re strong enough to handle a highly agitated Tiger in the confines of a cavern. The locations you need to use the Old Rattle-Drum quest are:

Acquire the Old Rattle-Drum.
First Old Rattle-Drum location.
Second Old Rattle-Drum location.
Third Old Rattle-Drum location.
Mad Tiger Boss.

Acquire The Old Rattle-Drum

Location: Yellow Wind Ridge, Yellow Wind Formation, Windrest Hamlet.
Go through the area to the bridge from the Windrest Hamlet Shrine then take down the Tiger’s Acolyte boss where you will then be awarded the Old Rattle-Drum allowing you to begin the Old Rattle-Drum quest.

First Old Rattle-Drum Location

Location: Yellow Wind Ridge, Yellow Wind Formation, Windseal Gate.
Go to the Windseal Gate Shrine then follow the path up the hill following the path round to the right pass the area where you can fight the Gore-Eye Daoist boss and cross the bridge. Take out the Spearbone then go left into the courtyard where you will be prompted to use the Old Rattle-Drum so press R2 when the on-screen prompt appears to initiate the quest where the young boy will tell you to find the well. Take out all enemies in the local area then head back down to the Shrine.

Second Old Rattle-Drum Location

Location: Yellow Wind Ridge, Yellow Wind Formation Windrest Hamlet.
The second Old Rattle-Drum location is technically in the Windrest Bridge area, however, it is a lot easier to get to if you go back down the hill from the Windrest Hamlet Shrine then go through the wooden gate and into the area directly to your left. You will be prompted to use the Old Rattle-Drum again so do so then after the enemies have awoken and have been defeated head back to the Shrine.

Third Old Rattle-Drum Location

Location: Yellow Wind Ridge, Sandgate Village, Village Entrance.
Head back through to the open area where you can defeat the optional Earth Wolf boss then go all the way left through the gate in the stone wall then go round to your left where you can use the Old Rattle-Drum again which causes a boy to spawn. Once he jumps down the well, go to the well and interact with it to jump down after him.

Mad Tiger Boss

Location: Yellow Wind Ridge, Sandgate Village, Bottom of the Well.
Once you have dropped down, go into the cavern which will initiate the fight against the Mad Tiger boss who can be a hefty challenge depending on your proficiency with the game. Defeat the Mad Tiger ensuring you collect the Mad Tiger Spirit then go to the chest at the back of the arena to collect the Plaguebane Gourd.
