The Frogs are found off the beaten track in hidden areas so you won’t come to them as part of the story, none of them are missable and if you do struggle taking any of the Frogs down you can come back later in the game when you are tougher. You will receive a variety of rewards for bringing down the Frogs with Tadpoles being the main stay, these Tadpoles allow you to upgrade the Baw-Li-Guhh-Lang Spirit to a very powerful randomised elemental version of the attack. The 6 Frogs you can find throughout Black Myth Wukong are:
Baw-Li-Guhh-Lang
Location: Black Wind Mountain, Bamboo Grove Snake Trail.
Rewards: x482 XP, x396 Will, x1 Stone Spirt, x1 Tadpole, Baw-Li-Guhh-Lang Spirit.
Baw-Li-Guhh-Lang can be found by dropping down to the right off the hill after you have defeated the first 3 Snake Skeletons you come to from the Bamboo Grove, Snake Trail Shrine, go into the Marshes, defeat the Toads where the Baw-Li-Guhh-Lang boss will ambush you. Defeat it ensuring you absorb the Baw-Li-Guhh-Lang Spirit.
Lang-Li-Guhh-Baw
Location: Yellow Wind Ridge, Sandgate Village, Village Entrance.
Rewards: Rewards: x758 XP, x772 Will, x1 Stone Spirit, x1 Yaoguai Core, x1 Tadpole, x1 Evil Repelling Medicament.
Lang-Li-Guhh-Baw can be found by going left as you look at the Sandgate Village, Village Entrance Shrine then go through the canyon to the quarry you can drop down into. The Lang-Li-Guhh-Baw boss will come at you with heavy hitting lightning based attacks so keep on the move to avoid the majority of them as well as managing your stamina so you can dodge through consecutive attacks.
Lang-Li-Guhh-Lang
Location: The New West, Valley of Ecstasy, Forest of Felicity.
Rewards: x1,270 XP, x904 Will, x2 Silk, x1 Cold Iron Leaves, Tadpole.
Lang-Li-Guhh-Lang can be found on a frozen lake through a small opening opposite the Forest of Felicity Shrine which you will come to after sliding down the hill having defeated the Non-White boss. The Lang-Li-Guhh-Lang boss is an ice based Frog who has hard hitting AOE attacks as well as the ability to eat you causing heavy damage. Defrost the Frog to cross it off the list.
Baw-Li-Guhh-Baw
Location: The Webbed Ridge, Webbed Hollow, Lower Hollow.
Rewards: 1,562 XP, x1,449 Will, x2 Silk, x1 Cold Iron Leaves, Tadpole.
Rest at the Lower Hollow shrine then go back the way you came and squeeze through the crack in the wall. Follow the path around to the pool you can drop down into where Baw-Li-Guhh-Baw will be waiting to ambush you. This can be a tough fight as you have Venom Bane and magic attack to deal with. Defeat the Frog.
Baw-Lang-Lang
Location: Flaming Mountains, Field of Fire, Cooling Slope.
Rewards: x1,778 XP, x1,787 Will, x2 Silk, x1 Cold Iron Leaves, Tadpole.
Baw-Lang-Lang is a Scorch Bane Frog who can be found over to the left of the cavern you can enter to access the Bishui Cave which can only be entered once you have completed the Five Carts Quest as well as ensuring you speak with Pale Axe Stalwart so he can die opening the door. Ensure you have the Fireproof Mantle equipped to negate the elemental damage then defeat the Frog.
Lang-Baw-Baw
Location: Mount Huaguo, Foothills, Verdant Path.
Rewards: x2,986 XP, x2,713 Will, x2 Cold Iron Leaves, Celestial Birthstone Fragment Curios, Fine Gold Thread, Tadpole.
After obtaining the Somersault Cloud Spell having defeated the Celestial Inspector boss you can fly right following the river North to the dry section of land behind the arena where you can fight Gold Armored Rhino boss. ensure you land before the fight starts otherwise the Cloud will disappear and you will potentially fall to your death. Not the best design but it is what it is so once you have safely landed get ready for a tough fight as Lang-Baw-Baw is a challenging opponent mainly due to the fact it can turn itself to stone where most of your attacks will bounce off so charge up a heavy then slam to chip away some of the rock until it turns back to red.
