Here we will go over all of the Black Myth Wukong The Webbed Ridge Spirits of which there are 13 spread through the fourth Chapter in the game, 3 are found from bosses and the remaining Spirits are hidden by challenging enemies who more often than not have a decent amount of back up around them to increase the difficulty of the challenge. Spirits are designed to give you 1 or more passive buffs or boosts to your abilities as well as having a given use case which is more often than not combat based to inflict specific, enemy based damage on your opponent(s).
Once an enemy has been defeated you need to go up to the hovering Spirt and press R2 where your Gourd will absorb the Spirit allowing you to use it. If you are killed before you can retrieve a Spirit or just don’t collect it then a new menu will appear at Shrine for Uncollected Spirits. The 13 Spirits you can find in The Webbed Ridge, their locations, abilities, buffs and the order I recommend going for them are:
Lantern Holder
Location: The Webbed Ridge, Village of Laxi, Estate of the Zhu.
Ability: Will-o’-the-Wisps. Qi Cost: High. Passive Effect: Moderately increases the Will gained.
Before you can acquire the Lantern Holder spirit you will firstly need to defeat, The Second Sister boss who then allows you to access the Webbed Hollow. Rest at the shrine then fast travel back to the Estate of the Zhu biome which will now be during the day, go back to where you fought the Second Sister where the Lantern Holder will be waiting for you. Defeat it then collect the Spirit.
Beetle Captain
Location: The Webbed Ridge, Webbed Hollow, Upper Hollow.
Ability: Airborne Sting. Qi Cost: Moderate. Passive Effect: Moderately increases Maximum Stamina.
Go forward from the Upper Hollow shrine through the caverns whilst staying right, the Beetle Captain can be found in a cave off to the right. Defeat it then collect the Spirit.
Scorpion Prince
Location: The Webbed Ridge, Webbed Hollow, The Verdure Bridge.
Ability: Scorpion Prince. Qi Cost: High. Passive Effect: Moderately increases Poison Damage.
Rest at the Verdure Bridge shrine, equip your best gear then go forward staying right, drop down off the ledges then go up the stairs to your left to come to a courtyard where the Scorpion Prince will be pacing around. The Prince is boss level tough especially if the Ticks wake up and web you in place so come back later if needs be just ensure you take the Scorpion Prince then collect its Spirit.
Puppet Spider
Location: The Webbed Ridge, Webbed Hollow, The Verdure Bridge.
Ability: Venom Claw. Qi Cost: Moderate. Passive Effect: Moderately slows the decay of Might.
Rest at the Verdure Bridge shrine, go forward then right, drop down off the platforms then stay right where a Puppet Spider will drop down from above. Defeat it then go through the cocoons on your left to find a cave inside of which will be the Puppet Spider you need to defeat to acquire the Spirit.
Elder Armourworm
Location: The Webbed Ridge, Webbed Hollow The Verdure Bridge.
Ability: Foul Spray. Qi Cost: High. Passive Effect: Slightly increases Critical Hit Chance when in Poisoned state.
The Elder Armourworm Spirit is a strange one as you need to nurture a baby until it reaches full size where you can then collect the Spirit. Firstly, defeat the Elder Armourworm boss in the Verdure Bridge biome where you will receive the Proto-Armourworm, you then need to have access to Zodiac Village which is done by defeating the Chen Loong boss then speaking with Xu Dog in the Cellar in Yellow Wind Ridge, return to Chen Loong who will grant you access to the Zodiac Village.
Speak with Chen Loong who is behind Shen Monkey and offer him the Proto-Armourworm, rest at the shrine then go to the ridge between Shen Monkey and Chen Loong, go over to the right and feed the Proto-Armourworm 3 Rice Cocoons which are random drops from smashing cocoons throughout the Webbed Ridge chapter. With the Proto-Armourworm having been fed 3 Rice Cocoons, rest at the shrine where you will then be able to go back to the Proto-Armourworm who will now have turned into the Elder Armourworm Spirit you can collect.
Puppet Tick
Location: The Webbed Ridge, Webbed Hollow, Relief of the Fallen Loong.
Ability: Bursting Spiders. Qi Cost: High. Passive Effect: Considerably reduces the Mana cost for A Pluck of Many.
Once the Boddhisatva’s Right Hand boss is defeated go left and cross the bridge. Follow the path then use Cloud Step to cross the bridge with the hostile cocoons and go forward through the forest to the Relief of the Fallen Loong shrine. Rest then go back the way you came and up to the right to enter a cavern. Stay right then go to the end of the path where you will find 3 Puppet Ticks. Defeat them all as well as any other enemy who aggros in the local area then collect the Spirit.
Centipede Guai
Location: The Webbed Ridge, Webbed Hollow, Middle Hollow.
Ability: Rolling Ball. Qi Cost: High. Passive Effect: Slightly increases Movement Speed.
The Centipede Guai is a boss you can fight by dropping down from either the Middle Hollow or Bonevault shrines. Defeat the Centipede Guai boss then absorb the Spirit it drops for you.
Dragonfly Guai
Location: The Webbed Ridge, Webbed Hollow, The Purifying Spring.
Ability: Rain of Arrows. Qi Cost: Moderate. Passive Effect: Slightly increases Qi gained from hits, but significantly reduces Maximum Health, Mana and Stamina.
Head through the Purifying Spring after defeating the Zhu Bajie boss then go up and over to you right behind the rocks where the Dragonfly Guai will be waiting to ambush you. Defeat it then collect the Spirit.
Beetle Commander
Location: The Webbed Ridge, Temple of the Yellow Flower, Forest of Ferocity.
Ability: Blade Flurry. Qi Cost: High. Passive Effect: Moderately increases Poison Resistance.
The Commander Beetle boss is a tough opponent by itself but when you factor in the Warriors that are there as well you may have trouble in this fight as its easy to get overwhelmed. Take out the Snake Herbalist then go up the stairs and over to your right to begin the fight. Take out the Warriors as a priority then focus on the Commander Beetle, who, once defeated will drop its Spirit for you.
Snake Sherriff
Location: The Webbed Ridge, Temple of the Yellow Flower, Temple Entrance.
Ability: Tiger Roar. Qi Cost: Low. Passive Effect: Moderately increases attack, but considerably reduces Defense.
The Snake Sherriff is a tough opponent who can be found by climbing the stairs from the Temple Entrance shrine, go over to your right into the gardens where a lot of Worm Practitioners can be found. Try not to aggro them then go up the stairs at the back of the area and defeat the Snake Sherriff whose Spirit can then be absorbed.
Fungiwoman
Location: The Webbed Ridge, Temple of the Yellow Flower, Court of Illumination.
Ability: Aloft. Qi Cost: High. Passive Effect: Considerably increases maximum Health, but moderately reduces Maximum Stamina.
The Fungiwoman boss can be a tough one to take down and to find her, look at the Court of Illumination shrine then turn around and follow the path straight forward, go up the stairs and around to the right to the open area and try to harvest the Snake-Headed Mushroom. Be as aggressive as you can in the fight as she can heal herself very quickly back to full health making the fight a lot longer than it ordinarily would be. Defeat the Fungiwoman boss then absorb her Spirit. If, like me, you died to the Venom Bane after the boss was defeated you can retrieve her Spirit from the shrine.
Verdant Glow
Location: The Webbed Ridge, Purple Cloud Mountain, Valley of Blooms.
Ability: Verdant Arbor. Qi Cost: High. Passive Effect: Slowly recovers a small amount of Health.
Before you can acquire the Verdant Glow Spirit you will firstly need to defeat both the Venom Daoist boss and the Venom Daoist (second encounter) boss which then reveals a painting on the back wall you can interact with leading you through to Purple Cloud Mountain. Go to the Valley of Blooms shrine, turn around so you are facing the bridge then jump off to you right into the water. Go right through the forest where a Lushleaf will awaken. Defeat the walking tree which then allows you to collect the Verdant Glow Spirit.
Snake Herbalist
Location: The Webbed Ridge, Purple Cloud Mountain, Valley of Blooms.
Ability: Mighty Release. Qi Cost: Moderate. Passive Effect: Recovers a small amount of Health when taking Medicines.
Rest a the Valley of Blooms shrine in Purple Cloud Mountain then cross the bridge and follow the path where you will find the Snake Herbalist on the main path. You might find it easier if you take out the Dragonfly Guai on either side then defeat the Snake Herbalist whose Spirit can then be absorbed.
