In total, there are 20 CTR Challenges to complete in Adventure Mode, each one can be accessed once you have achieved first place in a given event. In order to complete a CTR Challenge, you need to collect a “C”, “T” and an “R” which are spread throughout the courses usually in hard to reach places.
16 of the CTR challenges require you to collect the CTR letters and 4 CTR challenges require you to complete the Crystal Challenges of which one in each area can be found and requires you to collect 20 pink crystals in a short amount of time. The CTR and the Crystal Challenges need to be collected throughout the game in the following regions:
Learning the courses is essential to complete the Crystal Challenges. What can make this challenging is you need to not only collect all 3 letters, you also need to come in first place in the event so accuracy and speed is essential. Below, I’ll list where all 48 CTR letters can be found in the order you’ll come to the events in the game.
N. Sanity Beach
N. Sanity Beach has 4 circuits to collect CTR Letters in which are:

Grab all CTR Letters as well as the Crystal.
Crash Cove
- C: Near the end of the course on the right side will be a crashed ship, go up the ship and jump off to the right to collect the C.
- T: You will need to perform a triple boost drift around the first corner then jump off the ramp, go through the left side of the puddle where you will be able to jump up to the ledge on the left (Puddle Jumper trophy location). Once on the ledge, go right down the bridge to collect the T.
- R: Behind the first rock after the start / finish line tucked in will be the R.
Roo's Tubes
- C: Found to the left side of the first jump, having 10 Wumpa fruit will make this easier to collect. Jump at the very top of the crest to gain enough air to collect the C.
- T: Found near the end of the course, when you get to where the dinosaur bones are just before the start / finish line, go left and drift boost through the sludge to collect the T.
- R: After the boost pads will be the R just over the small crest, you’ll see it in plain sight.
Mystery Caves
- C: Roughly halfway around the course there will be 3 ramps with jump-pads and fireballs coming up from below, on the second ramp, stay to the right side and avoid jumping to collect the C.
- T: Near the end of the course will be some jumping turtles, go pass them where you will see 4 crates just in front of a stone archway, behind the crate on the left will be the T.
- R: Shortly after the start / finish line will be 2 jumping turtles, jump off of the one on the right to collect the R.
Super Speedway
- C: Jump at the end of the second halfpipe after using the boost pad to collect the C.
- T: Go through the tunnel on the right after the start / finish line, jump off to the right and stay against the left wall to collect the T.
- R: The R can be found on the left side of the first halfpipe before the rolling barrel.
Skull Rock
Complete the Crystal Challenge to collect the CTR token.
The Lost Ruins
The Lost Ruins has 4 races with CTR Letters which are:

Collect all 12 CTR Letters as well as the pink crystal.
Coco Park
- C: The C can be found just over to the left on the grass verge after the start / finish line.
- T: Head through the tunnel staying against the right wall where you will see the T just before the tunnel exit.
- R: Go around the left after collecting the T and stay left, the R can be found on the verge in a flower bed just as you go over the small hill.
Papu's Pyramid
- C: Having 10 Wumpa fruits is very helpful here, go around the level to where the purple plants are once going up the left angle corners. Stay left and jump through the gap in the wall onto a small platform (one of the shortcuts in the level) where you will be able to collect the C.
- T: Go around the lap pass where you collected the C, you will be able to jump off the the left onto a ledge (the second shortcut in the course) where you need to jump off at the end to the right to collect the T.
- R: On the last right turn before the start/finish line to the right side will be the R.
Dingo Canyon
- C: The C will be to the right of the first corner.
- T: When you get to the fork in the road with the 2 Armadillos going from side to side, take either path then at the end of the rock will be the T.
- R: The R can be tricky to acquire and is found just after the T, you need to use the boost pad and jump off to the right of it to collect the R, you will more than likely fall into the canyon and respawn. Do this on lap 1 if you can to ensure you have enough time to catch up and win the event.
Tiger Temple
- C: Go through the course from the start / finish line and jump off to the right of the first ramp you come to, the C will be behind a Wumpa fruit box.
- T: The T can be found on the grass to the left of the first corner.
- R: You will need to activate the shortcut in the level by either having an aku-aku / uka-uka mask or a forward firing weapon. After going through the first tunnel, look to the left side of the area near the bottom of the hill to see a golden section of wall, fire your weapon at the wall to open up the shortcut. At the end of the shortcut, stay central and jump off to grab the R.
Rampage Ruins
Complete the Crystal Challenge to collect the CTR token.
Glacier Park
Throughout Glacier Park there are 12 CTR Letters to collect which can be found in:

Blizzard Bluff
- C: Found on the right side of the final ice patch before going across the start/finish line.
- T: The T can be found before you drop down into the canyon on the right side of the track after going round the first corner.
- R: After going over the first frozen section of track, go around the sharp left corner ensuring you stay left and collect the R before going through the small hut.
Dragon Mines
- C: Found in plain sight on the first left corner in the course, there will be a largen green dragon on your right, cut the corner to obtain the C.
- T: Drive through the course to where the wooden corkscrew goes up and jump off to the right to collect the T. Try and get this one done on lap 1 so you have enough time to get to first place.
- R: After the wooden corkscrew where you collected the T, go up and around to where the crates are, if we go from left to right as 1, 2, 3 and 4 for the crates. The R is in between 2 wooden struts between crate 2 (very easy to miss).
Tiny Arena
- C: Before the last set of jumps in the course after going through 3/4 of the track, the C will be in plain sight over to the right side of the track.
- T: Having 10 Wumpa fruit will make this a lot easier to collect. Go through from the start/finish line to where the first jump over the mud puddle is. Stay central to collect the T.
- R: Soon after you collect the C, stay right across the jumps to collect the R.
Polar Pass
- C: Head through to the first fork section where the Polar Bear is trapped in the ice, go around behind the Polar Bear where you will see the C against the green wall.
- T: After going over the 4 ice patches pass the tunnel with the seals going from side to side, jump off to the right of the boost pads to collect the T.
- R: Go over the boost pads over the water and jump off to the right on the last jump pad before going around the corner to collect the R.
Rocky Road
Complete the Crystal Challenge to collect the CTR token.

N. Gin Labs
- C: Found off to the left of the second set of boost pads on the track, jump off to the left to collect the C.
- T: Go through the course from where the rolling barrel tries to squash you, follow the course until you drop down. Stay central and jump over the hole in front of you to collect the T.
- R: On the third set of boost pads (directly after collecting the C), jump off the end of the boost pad to collect the R.
Cortex Castle
- C: Once out on the first wooden platforms once pass the Spider, you will see the C to the right side of the corner. Jump across the gap to collect the C.
- T: On the final jump on the track, stay right and don’t jump on the boost pad to collect the T.
- R: The R can be collected by jumping on the right side of the first boost pad in the course.
Hot Air Skyway
- C: Stay to the right side on the corkscrew going down, the corkscrew has 4 crates going diagonally, just after the crates will be the C.
- T: Go down the long straight around halfway through the level, jump off to the right of the boost pad whilst you have 10 Wumpa fruit to collect the T.
- R: Having 10 Wumpa fruit is essential here. Just after collecting the C, jump off to the right at the bottom of the corkscrew, you will need to jump high to collect the R.
Oxide Station
- C: Head through the track to the first boost pad jump and jump off the end of the boost pad to collect the C.
- T: Around halfway around the course there will be a long extended jump you make after using a boost pad, the T is just before you land. Ensure you don’t jump off the boost pad as you will overshoot, missing the T. Brake just before hitting the boost pad slowing you down enough to collect the T.
- R: Near the end of the track you will do a vertical drop down to a lower section of track. In front and above you will be a series of blue flashing chevrons pointing down. Stay in the centre as much as you can to collect the R, this is one of the hardest CTR letters to find as you won’t see the R until you go pass it.
Nitro Court
Complete the Crystal Challenge to collect the CTR token.
Once you have collected all 48 CTR letters and have completed all 4 Crystal Challenges, you will then have collected all 20 CTR Tokens where your Trophy will then unlock.
