Cold Pork can be started once you have reached the Blue Crab in Venice Beach as part of the main story and is a fairly simple side quest as long as your gear is repaired and matched to your level.
Speak with Trent in the Blue Crab opposite the Workbench when you are ready to begin then head over to the Police Station clearing out everyone waiting for you in the parking lot whilst avoiding the Burster.
Once the local area is clear, head through the door to the Police Station and shoot out the 2 Maglocks, one to the left through the shutter and the other in the restroom up on the left wall, just watch out for the ambushing Walker.
Head through and take the first door on your left, clear the Walkers and collect the Police Dept. Keycard from the shelf under the notice board, go back to the corridor and take the door on your left.
Go through to the far side of the room and collect the Secure Storage Room Key from the shelf just the other side of the shutter, clear the Cops and open the door.
On the back wall you will find a very nice Assault Shotgun which can really help you take down some of the tougher enemies in the game as well as plenty of ammunition.
The item you need for the quest though is the green Gun Case on the floor next to the corpse, which, once collected, can be taken back to Trent in the Blue Crab to conclude the side quest.
