Survival Skills
Complete the first tier of every Survivor Challenge.

Here’s the Dead Island 2 Survival Skills guide where I’ll help you complete the first tier of every Survivor Challenge.

The Survivor Challenges are very simple for the most part with you needing to find crafting materials, apply mods and perks which are well worth your time and efforts then you also have to amass a total of a million dollars throughout the game which, whilst cumulative meaning you can spend as you play, it is a lot of money and will require you to sell every bit of loot and material you don’t have a need for.

There are 10 Survival Challenges you need to work through in Dead Island 2 which are as follows:

Survival Skills

Complete 1 survival challenge.
Reward: $1,000, Peak Health +.

You will need to fully complete 1 of the 9 Survivor Challenges listed below, there are many that are easy, however, the one to focus on the most is collecting a million dollars in total throughout the game.

Hollywood Rich List

Amass 1,000,000 cash.
Reward: $1,000.

There is a lot of cash scattered around Dead Island 2, however, to get a million you will need to be looking in every location you can.

Fortunately, the cash is cumulative so you are free to spend as you need to on upgrades or bringing weapons up to your current level.

Completing missions as well as finishing challenges throughout the game will earn you more money, however, a million is a very high number to find in an apocalypse so keep farming through areas as you work your way towards level 30 where you should be there if not be fairly close.

Grind out the rest of the cash throughout shops in Venice Beach or looting peoples houses in Bel-Air or Beverly Hills and sell all the gear you don’t need to make some extra money.

Mod Maker

Fabricate 5 Mods.
Reward: $100, Scrap x5.

Fabricating Mods will become available shortly after you start the game when Workbenches are unlocked and in order to fabricate a mod, you firstly need a weapon and a mod, both of which you gain through normal progression in the game.

Mods are found on blueprint looking materials and there are plenty of them scattered throughout the world, especially on story based workbenches or you can buy mods from a Trader in the mid to late game.

In order to fabricate a mod you simply need to go to a workbench, choose Upgrades for a given weapon, select Mod then add the mod to your weapon providing you have the required crafting materials which are found all over the place in Dead Island 2 as well as the cash needed for fabrication.

The best part is that the mods themselves can be reused across any weapon they’re suitable for which really increases your efficiency in combat.

Do this 5 times with 5 different weapons to complete the challenge.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Scrap 10 weapons for parts.
Reward: $100.

As you play through the game and hit the hordes of zombies that stand in your way, your weapons will deteriorate and eventually break.

You will also find a good amount of new weaponry to use as you move through the game and with limited inventory, you will need to make some room. That’s where scrapping comes in to play which can be done by going: Player Menu> Inventory then select any broken weapon or any weapon you no longer require and hold down the right stick to scrap a given weapon.

Just remember, you can also repair any weapon at a Workbench which are found throughout the game so ensure you only Scrap the weaponry you no longer have a use for rather than scrapping a really good weapon that can easily be repaired.

You will more than likely scrap 10 weapons as you progress through the main game as it doesn’t make much sense from a player stand point to not be able to collect a Katana because you have a broken bit of burnt timber in your bag.

Repo Man

Collect 50 zombie parts.
Reward: $100.

You will be able to start collecting zombie parts once you have tracked down Moose in Venice Beach who has Patton having an interesting time inside of the deceased. That won’t seem as bad as it sounds when you get there.

Zombie parts are dropped by any Apex Variant of the Undead (Crushers, Slobbers, Bursters, Screamers etc.). and appear as yellow hazmat bags amongst the other loot which is dropped after the kill.

As long as you keep an eye out and take down a good number of enemies of which there are plenty and collect their subsequent loot, you will have this done soon enough.

Resourceful

Collect 100 parts used in fabrication.
Reward: $100.

Parts used in fabrication can be found all over the place in Dead Island 2 and are required to make things at a workbench.

You’re looking for items such as Blades, Adhesive, Fasteners, Wire, Chemicals etc. You will easily be able to find thousands of fabrication items as you play through the game.

Revival Act

Revive another Slayer 1 time.
Reward: $100.

Once you boot up the game and are at the main menu, choose Public or Invite only and bring in another player or join their game which will work as long as you’re at similar stages in the story.

All you need to do to complete this one is revive them 1 time which is an easy one to do.

Scavenger

Loot 100 containers.
Reward: $100.

Another incredibly simple Challenge to complete.

A container can be anything from a suitcase to a storage locker, a car boot or a weapons chest. Looting 100 of them should be done before you leave Beverly Hills.

Staying Alive

Use 10 Med Kits.
Reward: $100.

If you don’t get this through normal gameplay then you’re far too skilled for a game like this.

The Perks Of Being A Zombie Slayer

Fabricate 5 Perks.
Reward: $100, Scrap x5.

Before you can fabricate perks, you firstly need to acquire some perks which are found on Blueprints throughout the game as well as being able to purchase them from certain Traders.

Once you have at least one perk and a weapon that the perk is suitable for, go to a Workbench and select your weapon then scroll down to Perks.

Depending on the rarity and type of weapon you have you might be able to add 1 perk or several which will also depend on how many perks you have managed to find as well as ensuring you have the required crafting materials and some cash, all of which are found in abundance throughout the game.

You will easily have enough perks to get this done by the end of the game with minimal exploring required.

Choose any perk and and apply it to your weapon which you need to do 5 times to complete the challenge and given the fact Perks are reusable you shouldn’t encounter any problems getting this one done.

Once you have completed every Survivor Skill to tier 1 you will then earn Survivor Skills.

That’s the Dead Island 2 Survivor Skills guide complete, I hope it helps you complete the first tier of every Survivor Challenge.
