- Mediocrity.
- And So It Begins….
- A Trip Downtown.
- Walk in the Park.
- On top of the World.
- Out of the City.
- Hospital Bill Through the Roof.
- Gravedigger.
- Train to Nowhere.

On your next run through you need to be on Grim difficulty where you will then unlock:
Having completed the game on Grim I recommend you spend some time going back through the various missions using Chapter select working through the collectibles especially the Armour where you will unlock the following trophies along the way:
Now it’s time for Morbid difficulty which I recommend doing in co-op as you will then have a chance for your co-op partner to get to a checkpoint or get you back up where as on Solo, once you’re down, you’re down. So doing Morbid difficulty in co-op will unlock:
With that done, keep your co-op partner around and complete the first mission on Undead difficulty which will now be accessible having completed the game on Morbid. This is a 1-2 hit death run so having a co-op partner can be invaluable. You will then, after completing mission 1 on Undead unlock:
With all that done you will more than likely have unlocked the majority of the miscellaneous trophies but depending on your playstyle you could have missed them as well so now it’s time to unlock the following trophies:
- Survivor.
- Skilled.
- Genocidiary.
- Aim For The Head.
- Up Close & Personal.
- Blown To Bits.
- Pyromaniac.
- Car Killer.
It’s then time to enter the Endless Mode and survive through to Round 10 ensuring you get the collectibles along the way which unlocks:
Now for the last 3 trophies you need to unlock, get a co-op partner and work towards unlocking:
Then finally after leaving all of those Corpses in your wake and having collected virtually everything in the game you will then unlock:
Romero Would Be Proud
Collect All Trophies
You will need to earn the other 40 trophies throughout Dead Nation Apocalypse Edition before you can unlock Romero Would Be Proud.
Mediocrity
Complete Campaign Mode On ‘Normal’
Completing the game on Normal shouldn’t give you that many difficulties, work through to the game completing every mission until you roll the credits on Normal which then unlocks Mediocrity.
Tough Enough
Complete Campaign Mode On ‘Grim’
The Grim difficulty is a hefty step up from Normal and will see you taking less damage, have fewer health drops and less ammunition available. Complete the game on Normal first then go back through on Grim where you will have a much better feel for the game. Once you roll the credits on Grim difficulty you will unlock, Tough Enough.
Morbid Curiosity
Complete Campaign Mode On ‘Morbid’
Morbid difficulty is so tough it will only unlock once you have completed the game on Grim unlock Tough Enough then start a new campaign on Morbid which will give you a very tough playthrough and one where you may well die several times per mission as you fight to the checkpoints. There will be barely any health drops, ammunition is very rare and money is scarce so focus on upgrading the Rifle and Flare as a priority then focus on 1 weapon at a time as you progress with the Blade Cannon being a lifesaver to carve large sections of a horde away. Once you have rolled the credits on Morbid difficulty you will then unlock Morbid Curiosity. If you are struggling, there’s always co-op.
Double the Action
Complete Campaign Mode In Co-Op Mode
You can complete Campaign mode in Co-Op mode on any difficulty, if you’re struggling with the game get it done on Normal or Grim whereas if you are going for Romero Would Be Proud I strongly recommend going through Morbid difficulty in Co-Op. To access Co-op mode choose Co-Op from the main menu then invite a friend who also has a copy of the game and ensure you stay connected for every mission ensuring you complete each of the missions before quitting out. Once you complete a mission you can turn the game off, however, you will need to load up your Co-Op game and invite the same friend back in to your game and continue through the missions. Once you roll the credits in Co-Op you will then unlock Double the Action.

Teamwork
Complete A Mission In Co-Op Mode (Any Difficulty Level)
Refer to Double the Action for Co-Op information.
Very Dead
Complete A Mission On ‘Undead’
Undead difficulty will unlock once you have completed the campaign on Morbid difficulty (refer to Morbid Curiosity) and I recommend going through Mission 1 in Co-Op as on Undead difficulty you will die in 1-2 hits so having a Co-Op partner can be invaluable. Complete the first mission on Undead difficulty to unlock Very Dead.
Survivor
Complete A Mission Without Dying
This will more than likely come naturally as you playthrough the game but if not, then load up Mission 1 on Braindead then run through the mission. If you do die then maybe this isn’t the game for you. Once you do complete a mission without dying you will unlock Survivor.
Skilled
Complete A Mission Without Receiving Any Damage
Ensure you are familiar with the way the game works, the mechanics and how the zombies move then load up Mission 1 on Braindead then carefully make your way through the mission taking out the zombies from a distance with your Rifle. You can’t get hurt in any way be it from an explosion, a zombie or anything else and finishing the mission after picking up a health pack putting you back to full health won’t count. You need a 100% clean run to unlock Skilled.
Zombie Killer
Kill 1 000 Zombies
Given the high number of zombies you will be facing you will unlock Zombie Killer before you get to the mid-game.
Zombie Hunter
Kill 10 000 Zombies
Having completed your first playthrough you might have unlocked this depending on how you play and if you’re in Co-Op. You will definitely unlock Zombie Hunter as you play through the game for a second time on Grim difficulty and if not, you owe your Co-Op partner a drink.
Genocidiary
Kill 53 597 Zombies
Killing 53,597 Zombies will more than likely be one of the final trophies you need to unlock in Dead Nation Apocalypse Edition so if you have done everything else across the entire list, load up Mission 10, Highway to Hell then use a maxed out Blade Cannon to carve through the seemingly endless Hordes. Rinse and repeat until you unlock Genocidiary.
Aim For The Head
Perform 500 Headshots
Headshots are performed with the Rifle for the most part and they require you to hold down the Fire button so you charge a shot then aim the laser at a Zombie and pull the trigger which, on the weaker zombies especially will result in a Headshot. Perform 500 Headshots to unlock Aim For The Head.
Up Close & Personal
Perform 500 Melee Kills
Melee Kills are an invaluable asset as they allow you to kill or push enemies away with a quick slash of yuor rechargeable blade and can be used to carve through Hordes of weak Zombies. Don’t sleep on Melee Kills in the game, get used to the mechanics of how Melee works then continue on slashing through enemies until you have cleaved 500 or more Zombies which then unlocks Up Close & Personal.
Blown To Bits
Blow Up 1 000 Zombies
There are several ways to blow Zombies up in Dead Nation Apocalypse Edition such as using Grenades, Mines or Car Explosions and you will be well on your way to blowing up 1,000 Zombies by the end of your first playthrough. Upgrade the Grenades and Mines to cause a greater AOE blast and more damage meaning you kill more per use then once you have exploded 1,000+ Zombies, Blown To Bits will unlock.
Pyromaniac
Burn 1 000 Zombies
You can Burn Zombies using either Molotovs or Flamethrowers. If they are burnt by environmental hazards this won’t count, you will need to be the one who has directly caused them to Burn. Now you also won’t need to kill 1,000 Zombies with fire damage, just setting 1,000 Zombies on fire is enough to unlock Pyromaniac.
Car Killer
Destroy 500 Vehicles
Vehicles are a good source of loot as well as a good way of distracting Zombies if the vehicle has an alarm. You can also explode vehicles which creates an AOE explosion, hand for clearing out lower level Zombies or damaging tougher ones. You will more than likely have to grind out the 500 vehicle kills, a good place is in Mission 1 so keep destroying vehicles if you have done everything else until you hit 500 total destroyed vehicles which then unlocks Car Killer.
Upgrader
Fully Upgrade A Single Stat Of Any Weapon In Campaign Mode
Upgrading Stats is how you increase the efficiency of your weapon and one of the best weapons in the game is the Rifle so play through the game then once you have fully upgrade either Power, Fire Rate or Clip Size you will unlock Upgrader.
Weapons Specialist
Fully Upgrade All Stats Of Any Weapon In Campaign Mode
There are many weapons in Dead Nation Apocalypse Edition, one of the best is the Rifle and to unlock Weapons Specialist you need to full upgrade the:
- Clip Size.
- Fire Rate.
- Power.
Once you have maxed out the Rifle or any other weapon you will then unlock Weapons Specialist.
Suit Up
Collect An Armor Piece
Refer to Top Gear for more information.
Top Gear
Collect All Armor Pieces
There are 45 pieces of Armour to collect in Dead Nation Apocalypse Edition all of which will change the way you move and how much damage you receive from enemy attacks so ensure you test out the Armour you have collected at a Checkpoint to see what works well for your playstyle. There’s little point having fast armour equipped if you are more of a tanky player and the reverse is true, if you’re more of a slasher and dasher, being a tank won’t help you achieve a favoured outcome. Refer to the Top Gear trophy guide for how and where you can acquire every piece of Armour in the game then once you have them all you will unlock Top Gear.
Contributor
Help Your Country To Clear The Virus Infection
Ensure you are connected to the Internet in game then go through and complete 1 mission, at the end of the mission you will get a stats screen as well as a contribution screen showing you how much you have helped the global cause which then unlocks Contributor.
Looter
Collect All The Loot In Any Mission
Refer to King of Looters for more information.
King Of Looters
Collect All The Loot In Every Mission
Collecting all of the loot in a mission requires you to not only loot any chests but also loot every car boot, vending machine and anything else as you make your way through a given mission. Refer to the King of Looters trophy guide for a complete breakdown of all of the loot required throughout each mission all of which you can acquire on Braindead difficulty then once you have every single piece of loot in the game you will unlock King Of Looters.
Memento Collector
Find all mementos in single player campaign in a single playthrough
Mementos are new for the Apocalypse Edition of Dead Nation and they are sadly random throughout the game. There are 4 Mementos in each of the 10 main campaign missions which will be inside the small boxes you can open for Multiplier / Gold / Ammunition and you will need to collect them all which can be done on a Braindead difficulty. Follow the guides in the King of Looters guide where we have detailed every piece of loot you can collect throughout the game and along the way you will find these 40 Mementos.
The Mementos themselves present with a purple glow around a box and as these are random just ensure you have all 4 before completing a mission. You can view the Mementos you have collected by going: Main Menu> Gallery> Mementos then scrolling through although they won’t tell you which mission they are to be unlocked in. Once you have unlocked all 40 Mementos you will then unlock Memento Collector.
Still In the Game
Survive to Round 5
Refer to Never Give Up for more information.
Never Give Up
Survive to Round 10
Choose Endless from the Main Menu then get ready for a very tough slog through 10 rounds of Hell. You need to choose a given path, the path you choose is ultimately irrelevant but can be very useful as well as you can get your hands on better weapons / ordnance, boost your Gold / Health or help with your Score and Multiplier with the latter being the least useful of the set. Try and stick to the blue or green paths for the most part and upgrade your gear as soon as you can. Surviving 10 rounds is very tough and only the best players will manage it so keep practicing and perfect until you complete round 9 which then unlocks Never Give Up.
Keep It Up
Complete a Round with a Kills-per-minute rate of 100 or more
Choose Endless from the Main menu then go through to round 3 or 4 focusing on upgrading weapons like the SMG and Blade Cannon. Once you are well kitted out go down the pink route and very quickly annihilate everything that comes your way as the trophy suggests you need to achieve a KPM of 100+ which is tough especially if you hang around as it works on an average across a 60 second period. Once you have achieved a KPM of 100+ you will then unlock Keep It Up.
Combo Master
Get the Apocalypse Combo Kill Bonus (150 Kills)
This trophy can be a pain to unlock but will be easier if you choose the pink route in Endless during the later stages as you will be mobbed by a lot of enemies. Ensure you spend the earlier rounds upgrading weapons like the Blade Cannon and SMG then ordnance such as Flare, Grenades and Mines. Go through the pink route on as latter stage as you can manage then annihilate every enemy quickly ensuring you don’t lose your multiplier. Once you achieve a combo kill of 150+ you will then unlock Combo Master.
Dynamic Duo
Complete a Round in Co-Op Without Either Player Taking Damage
I recommend you team up with someone who knows the game well then load up Endless Co-Op and work through the first round carefully and cautiously ensuring neither of you take any damage. Go back to back if you can so you protect the left side and your partner protects the right then swivel round and help when you can just as long as neither of you take a single bit of damage. Once you have successfully made it back round to the starting chamber without either of you being hurt you will unlock, Dynamic Duo.
Found ‘Em
Find all the Egogate emblems
There are 9 Egogate Emblems for you to find which can be done either in Endless or Arcade mode and they require you to open the 9 blue glowing circular chests. Refer to the Found ‘Em trophy guide for more information then once you have all 9 you will unlock Found ‘ Em.
That’s the Dead Nation Apocalypse Edition trophy guide complete I hope it helped you through the game.
