Here is the God Of War Ragnarök Nocturnal Predator Favour guide where we will help you find and take down the Flame Phantom which is found in The Crater in Vanaheim. The Flame Phantom will count towards one of the Crater Hunts as you work towards Invasive Species and is considered an Epic Hunt on your World Overview.
In order to get to The Crater you will firstly need to complete the Creatures of Prophecy main story quest where you rescue Freyr then, on your back to the Mystic Gateway you will come across Lúnda’s dog, Helka beginning the Scent of Survival Favour, which, once completed, will land you in The Crater. In order to fight the Flame Phantom it will need to firstly be night time so if you are doing these in order leave it as night time from when you completed the For Vanaheim! Favour where you took down The Crimson Dread and rescued Birgir. If you’re going for this one and it’s daytime in The Crater we will have the same starting point just a few more things to do along the way. Start from the Crater Entrance Mystic Gateway, mantle over the cliff in front of you and take a right, cross The Plains then drop down 2 levels and mantle up the your left.
Follow the path forward then get ready for a pain of a fight against some Seidr which will be a lot easier to take down if you freeze the healing braziers around the local area allowing you to damage them enough for a kill. Once all enemies are down, go over to the left of the area and use the Celestial Altar to turn the time of day from Day to Night then kick the shield off the edge over looking The Plains and drop down.
The first Wisp can be found over to the left of where you dropped down after using the Celestial Altar and will, like all 3 Wisps, be feeding on an animal making them fairly easy to see. Use a charged blast from your Blades of Chaos (aim with L2 then hold R2 to plant both Blades in the ground and send a fiery charge down the Chains) which will banish the Wisp.
The next Wisp can be found by crossing The Plains heading towards the frozen lightning bolt looking to your left. Send a charge down the Blades to banish the Wisp.
The third and final wisp is located across The Plains against the shore / canyon’s edge (the landscape changes if you have completed the Return of the River Favour yet).
Once all 3 Wisps have been banished you should then go over to the right of the area as you look back across The Plains then use one final blast to remove the vines around a shrine you will need during the fight which is situated under where the Dragon sits on the rock when it flies over.
The Flame Phantom can be summoned by going to the disc with the purple Runic lights on it in the centre of the area and can be a challenge as it’s one of the toughest Phantom style bosses in the game.
The Phantom will slam, swing and burn you at every opportunity and if getting burn status can really empty your health bar quickly. Make good use of your parries as well as dodging where you can then inflict as much punishment on the orb as you can until it’s staggered allowing you to smash up the Shrines as best as you can.
Try and get close to a shrine as you’re attacking the Flame Phantom as you only have around 30 seconds to smash a shrine before they become invulnerable again making this fight longer than it could be. in the process.
Whittle down the Flame Phantoms health ensuring you smash all 5 shrines where you can then inflict a final, critical hit on the Flame Phantom putting it down for good completing the Nocturnal Predator Favour in the process.
That’s how to complete the God Of War Ragnarök Nocturnal Predator Favour in Vanaheim.
