Gran Turismo 7 National A Licence Guide

Before you can go for the National A Licence, you will firstly need to have acquired the National B Licence (click the link to go to the National B Licence Guide). Once you have the National B Licence come back here and we’ll take you through how to pass all 10 licences that make up the National A Licence in Gran Turismo 7.

The licence test you will need to complete are:

  1. Licence A1 Racing Line Beginner 1.
  2. Licence A2 Racing Line Beginner 2.
  3. Licence A3 Racing Line Beginner 3.
  4. Licence A4 Urban Tracks 1.
  5. Licence A5 Cornering in the Wet: Beginner.
  6. Licence A6 Consecutive Corners: Beginner 1.
  7. Licence A7 Consecutive Corners: Beginner 2.
  8. Licence A8 Dirt Driving: Beginner.
  9. Licence A9 Hairpins.
  10. Licence A10 Racing Line Basics.
 

The methods below will be aimed at achieving Gold times.

Licence A1 Racing Line: Beginner

Car: Subaru BRZ STI Sport ’18.
Gold Time: 00:17:500.
Keep to the left of the track where you can start to turn into the right hand corner just after the corner indicator marker.

Gran Turismo 7 National A Licence A1 first corner turn point
Start to turn in at the marker.

Then apply a touch of the brakes to slow the car down enough that it doesn’t run too wide then let the car flow naturally to the outside of the track where you can then reapply full throttle to take you over the line.

Licence A2 Racing Line: Beginner 2

Car: Volkswagen Scirocco R ’10.
Gold Time: 00:18:100.
Keep to the right and brake heavily at about the 75 metre mark and turn into the corner keeping the brake depressed until you reach the apex of the corner. Now left the car drift into the middle of the track then turn into the second corner and apply full throttle over the finish line.

Brake hard when you're halfway between the 100 and 50 metre boards.

Turn into the corner keeping the brake depressed until you reach the apex of the corner. Now allow the car to drift into the middle of the track then turn into the second corner cutting the corner as much as you dare.

Cut the second corner as much as you dare.

As soon as you’re level with the apex apply full throttle and race to the finish line.

Licence A3 Racing Line: Beginner 3

Car: FIAT Abarth 500 ’09.
Gold Time: 00:22:300.
Steer to the left to hug the outside line and then turn into the right corner lifting on the throttle ever so slightly as you reach an access road after the 50 metre board.

Lift off the accelerator for a second before making the turn at the access road..

Steer the car into the corner and then gradually decrease the steering on exit to let the car return to the outside of the track. Tap the brake as you reach the 100 metre board for the second corner.

Then steer into the corner taking as much kerb as possible.

Cut the corner keeping your left wheels on the edge of the rumble strips.

Before finally allowing the car to drift back to its’ wide outside position to cross the finish line.

Licence A4 Urban Tracks 1

Car: Honda Civic Type R (EK) ’98.
Gold Time: 00:29:800.
Follow the road taking the slight right and left corner as close to the walls as you can.

Hug the wall on the first slight right.

Stay to the left from the previous corner maintaining the perfect racing line.

Then hug the left wall and brake slightly when the concrete walls turn into a wire mesh wall and turn into the corner trying to not scrub off too much speed.

Let the car flow back to the left of the track and keep in that position until you reach the next big right corner, start to steer when you reach the corner indicator marker and release the throttle ever so slightly before immediately re applying it.

Lift off for a second and turn in at this marker.

Now keep at full throttle and follow the course until the finish line.

Licence A5 Cornering in the Wet: Beginner

Car: Nissan 180SX Type X ’96.
Gold Time: 00:30:500.
Keep to the left of the track and brake at the left hand kerb start point just after the 100 metre board and brake heavily into the corner.

Brake hard when you get to the rumble strips after the 100 metre board.

Apply the throttle as you exit the corner end then lift and coast a small amount in the next corner, don’t brake as it slows you down too much.

Keep left on corner 2.

In the final corner keep to the left and again lift and coast out of the corner.

Lift off and coast around the corner.

Once out of the corner apply full throttle to cross the finish line.

Licence A6 Consecutive Corners: Beginner 1

Licence A6 Consecutive Corners: Beginner 1Car: Alfa 4C ’14.
Gold Time: 00:18:700.
From the start keep to the right and brake with medium intensity at the 100 metre marker board and keep braking until you get near the corner apex.

After this you want to go full throttle and when you turn for the right corner feather the throttle on and off whilst you navigate both the right and left corners.

Tuck in to the left at the apex of corner 1.

Stay on the edge of the rumble strips around corner 2.
Gran Turismo 7 National A Licence A6 corner 3 apex
Keep a smooth line out of the double chicane.

You need to not brake as it slows you down too much then with this chicane clear apply full throttle over the finish line.

Licence A7 Consecutive Corners: Beginner 2

Car: BMW M3 ’04.
Gold Time: 00:26:000.
Keep to the left and apply heavy braking when you see an access road to the left of the first corner and brake into this right corner.

You then want to go on and off with the throttle to keep the power of the car under control and not slide the rear end as traction is important to keep speed up.

Cut the corner as much as you dare.

Stay hard left on the second corner.

Then apply full throttle approaching the final corner and go on and off with the throttle to hug the inside line. Apply full throttle when you reach an orange segment of the white wall to the right of the track.

Apply full throttle when you go pass the orange section of wall.

Keep accelerating whilst going over to the left side of the track to cross the finish line.

Licence A8 Dirt Driving: Beginner

Car: Toyota Tundra TRD Pro ’19.
Gold Time: 00:19:500.
Go full throttle with gentle steering input to navigate the first right hand corner just after the start then keep right. When you reach the next corner marker indicator slam the brake momentarily before turning sharply into the uphill left hand corner and apply full throttle and full left steering lock. Now follow the route and keep full throttle and perform another sharp steering action to take the final right corner to cross the finish line.

Now follow the route and keep full throttle and perform another sharp steering action to take the final right corner.

Cut the final corner then power to the finish line.

Come out of the corner then floor it to the finish line taking care not to steer gently so as not to lose any time.

Licence A9 Hairpins

Car: Honda NSX Type R ’92.
Gold Time: 00:17:100.
Keep left and attack the first corner taking as much kerb as you dare braking heavily just as the painted kerb ends on the right hand side before slamming the brakes on full

Brake heavily out of the first corner.

Brake hard into the left apex then apply full throttle 75% of the way round this corner.

Go back on the accelerator at this point of the corner.

Let the car naturally flow to the right of the track to not cause any wheel spin under acceleration and keep the throttle pinned to the finish line.

Licence A10 Racing Line Basics

Car: Toyota Supra RZ ’97.
Gold Time: 00:29:000.
Keep left after the start and brake heavily when you are parallel with the access road off the track to the left.

Brake and steer into the corner applying full throttle then go on and off with the throttle around the next 2 left hand corners.

Tuck in at the apex of corner 1.

Keep your left wheels on the rumble strips of corner 2.
Gran Turismo 7 National A Licence A10 corner 3 apex
Stay to the left around the second left.

Brake heavily as you are parallel corner marker indicator for the right hand corner. This is a double apex corner so coast around the first part steering right as you go.

Brake hard before going round the double apex right hander.

Apply full throttle around the second part of the corner and keep the throttle pinned to the finish line. That’s how to earn all your Gran Turismo 7 National A Licence aiming for Gold times throughout.
