Gran Turismo 7 National B Licence Guide

As you go through Gran Turismo 7 you will inevitably come to events where you need a licence in order to progress. In this guide we will show you how to earn all 10 licences which make up the National B Licence which is the first licence you can earn in Gran Turismo 7, that said these licences can be tough.

Licence B1 Starting & Stopping 1

Car: Mazda Demio XD Touring ’15.
Gold Time: 00:20:500.
This is a simple acceleration and braking test where you need to accelerate away smoothly and keep building speed until you get to the cones on the right side of the track then brake heavily.

Brake at these cones.

Your aim is to finish as close to the start of the blue and white chequered area with all 4 wheels on the area to complete Licence B1.

Licence B2 Starting & Stopping 2

Car: Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo ’91.
Gold Time: 00:16:600.
Similar to Licence B1 except this time you’re in a much faster car. Accelerate away from the line then when you get to the cones on the right of the track (the same braking point as Licence B1), brake hard.

You need to just get all 4 of your wheels on the finishing area to earn the Gold medal.

Licence B3 Cornering Basics 1

Car: Daihatsu Copen ’02.
Gold Time: 00:14:900.
Keep to the left of the track and steer into the corner without braking then exit the corner and cross the finish line still at full throttle.

Ensure a smooth racing line near the apex.

Once through the corner keep at full throttle across the finish line.

Licence B4 Cornering Basics 2

Car: AUDI TT Coupé 3.2 quattro ’03.
Gold Time: 00:11:700.
A faster car than Licence B3, however, the same principle applies with smooth cornering being essential. Keep to the left and tap the brakes about the 30 metre mark from the corner before applying full throttle again.

Tap the brakes at this section of the licence.

Maintain full throttle out of the corner where you should aim to cross the line around 78 mph.

Licence B5 Cornering Basics 3

Car: FIAT A112 Abarth ’85.
Gold Time: 00:13:200.
Given the relatively low power of the FIAT you can keep full throttle around the entire licence test ensuring you keep your cornering smooth and not aggressive to ensure a faster finish time.

Stay to the right of the track over the rumble strips.

Clip the grass on corner 2.

Licence B6 Cornering Basics 4

Car: Nissan Fairlady Z (Z34) ’08.
Gold Time: 00:11:000.
You will be in a faster car than in Licence B5, press the brakes fairly hard and release just as the barrier to the right of the track changes from orange to white.

Brake just before the barrier changes colour.

Then accelerate out the first corner, stay to the left on the second corner clipping the grass.

Come out of corner 2 and accelerate to the finish line.

Licence B7 Cornering Basics 5

Car: Toyota GR86 RZ ’21.
Gold Time: 0.17.900.
Look for the large tree shadows on the track as you approach the corner and brake heavily before you reach the final shadow.

Brake as you get to the final tree shadow on the straight.

Keep breaking and keep to the middle of the track. releasing the brake and apply full throttle once your parallel with the rock at the apex of the corner.

Keep your left wheels on the white line around the corner.

Release the brake and apply full throttle once your parallel with the rock at the apex of the corner maintaining smooth cornering then accelerate to the finish line.

Licence B8 Cornering Basics 6

Car: Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV GSR ’96.
Gold Time: 00:13:800.
Brake with medium intensity at the street light just before the 50 metre board. Brake into the corner and release applying full throttle as you hit the apex.

Brake into the corner and release applying full throttle as you hit the apex. Exit the corner smoothly whilst accelerating to the finish line.

Licence B9 Cornering Basics 7

Car: Honda Civic Type R Limited Edition (FK8) ’20.
Gold Time: 00:17:500.
Keep to the left and full throttle through the first right hand corner.

Go flat out in the first corner.

Keep to the left and brake heavily at the point where the grass meets the gravel for the final corner.

Brake to the apex and full throttle on the way out to the finish line.

Licence B10 Driving Basics

Renault Clio R.S. 220 Trophy ’16.
Gold Time: 00:25:400.
Cut the chicane as much as you dare and brake heavily immediately after the second kerb.

Stay left on the rumble strips in the first corner.

Stay far right on the second corner.

Brake deep into the corner and keep right to maintain speed out the corner.

Stay right in the third corner.

Continue to the fourth corner then give just a tap of brake as you approach the corner.

Tap the brake whilst staying tucked in to the corner.
