GRID Legends is set to release on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC 25-Feb-2022 and has more car classes than any other GRID game that’s come before. You can race through the game in everything from a truck to a hyper car and nearly everything in between across 3 difficulty tiers in the main career or take the action online to test your skill against other players all vying for that prestigious first place finish. The 9 GRID Legends confirmed car classes are as follows:
Drift
There will be specific drift events where you need to get sideways in order to rack up some serious points as you speed around the track where precision driving is crucial. Fortunately GRID Legends will feature some custom made drift cars with over racked steering and serious turbo’s allowing you to go in hard and power out into the next corner to smoke your competition.
Electric
It’s 2022 so Electric cars are an inevitability in a game such as GRID Legends and you won’t be disappointed with what’s on offer. Electric cars offer instant acceleration and with them having no gears to cycle through they should give you a much smoother race experience as long as you can tame the power that comes with the class.
GT
Gran Touring / Gran Turismo cars make a welcome return in GRID Legends and are the main stay of the vehicles you have access to. You will have access as you make your way through the game to decades worth of engineering greatness at your fingertips to master and perfect.
Open Wheel
Open Wheel cars feature entries that are track focused lightweight race cars that focus on speed and handling above all else. As you work your way through to the Pro Tier you will have to work hard to tame the power you’ll have under your right foot.
Specials
In the Specials tab you will find all manner of weird and wonderful machinery. Not a lot is known about the cars held under Specials. You will have everything from vintage icons to modern day marvels to hoon around the track in.
Touring
The Touring category will feature hard hitting race events where trading paint is as unavoidable as the crashes that will inevitably occur. Focus on the driving as you work your way through the tiers racing everything from hot hatches to Rally classics.
Track Day
Track Day cars are built for one purpose which is to get you around the track as quickly as possible in custom made, focused machines. You will have access to a good number of track focused cars that span decades of racing history and modern machines that push the limits of technological advancement.
Trucks
If you’ve ever driven a truck in real life you’ll know the confidence it gives you being high up in a commanding driving position with all the weight needed to get your opposition back in the pits. The trucks are set to have the power to match their size making them dangerous contenders in multi class races.
Tuner
The Tuner class is where everything else in the game ends up that isn’t in any of the other 8 classes featuring everything from American muscle to World time attack monsters. The further you advance through GRID Legends, the more cars you will have available and there’s a lot on offer in the Tuner class.
That’s every class you will have available in GRID Legends. Which one are you looking forward to the most?. For me, I’m up for getting behind a Truck and smashing the opposition out the way… As long as I can catch them of course!
