Welcome to the Helldivers 2 trophy guide which will help you work towards defending Super Earth from Bugs, Automatons and Squid Armies as you dive for Democracy!.

In Helldivers 2 you will play as a member of the Helldivers an Elite Military force with one main purpose which is to defend Super Earth from hordes of Bugs, Armies of Automatons and schools of Squid. All of which have their own methods of killing you as well as their own sets of strengths and weaknesses. You won’t be short of kit to help you stay alive and as this game is cross-play you won’t be short of team-mates either. You can launch from your ship on a Solo mission or you can team up with several other players and work as a team to bring down your enemies.
As well as your initial loadout you can also requisition Pods to bring hell down on your enemies be it an LMG in the earlier levels right up to massive carpet bomb attacks which decimate the field and only the toughest of enemies will be left standing albeit after having their health shredded down making them fairly simple to finish off. Make no mistake though you will be dying a LOT throughout Helldivers 2 so don’t see it as a failure, it’s part of the fun especially seeing as even failure will give rewards making you that bit stronger for the next time. Whilst the game isn’t strictly a roguelike it’s not far off.
Trophy wise there is a lot of variety and you need to not worry about the majority of trophies from the offset as you simply won’t be able to fulfil their requirements until much later in the game or you have to grind out the levels, kills, collect gear, hold specific stratagems, unlock certain difficulties and team up with other players. There’s even a trophy where you can’t fire your main weapon so learning the game is essential if you want to come with the Platinum. From the start of the game you should run through the tutorial which will then unlock:
Now you know the basics it’s time to learn the game so for the first say 10 hours you will more than likely unlock the following trophies:
- That which does not kill you….
- The taller they are….
- They don’t call it Tacticool for nothin’.
- Cool guys don’t loo- AAAAH!.
- Bot Scrapper.
- Bug Stomper.
- Extractinating the Countryside.
- Patriot.
- Strapping young lad.
- They mostly come at night….
- Spread Managed Democracy.
Now that you know the basics of the game it’s time to get the basic co-op trophies done (we will get to the tougher ones later) and out of the way which you will more than likely have already done but just in case you’re playing Solo, ensure you work towards unlocking:
With that done you can work towards finishing off the majority of the skill / weapon based trophies and seeing as you have already unlocked the above trophies you should now be at a decent level and have plenty of resources meaning you can get any weapon / stratagem needed. If you’ve wasted your resources then play some more and get them back as you need them whilst working towards unlocking the following trophies:
- Caught them by Supplies!.
- Samples are a diver’s best friend.
- Doing your part.
- It’s the only way to be sure….
- For the greater good!.
- Kill it with fire!.
- Get some!.
- The power of democracy.
- Fully operational.
- Ship it!.
- Nothing is bigger than Freedom.
- Let’s call it a draw.
- Hot Potato!.
- Hold My Liber-Tea!.
- Eat This!.
- In the nick of time.
- The long arm of Justice.
- Stalking is illegal.
- Job’s done!.
- Science is done by quantity.
You should now be able to finish off the majority of the difficulty trophies which are tough but doable with the right players in your team so get yourself amongst some good players, use our Discord to boost sessions if you want to and we have access to other servers as well if you need them then work towards unlocking:

The Epitome of Super Earth
Obtain all trophies of HELLDIVERS™ 2.
You will firstly need to earn the other 38 trophies throughout Helldivers 2 to unlock The Epiome of Super Earth.
Hell Dive
Complete an Extreme difficulty mission or higher without anyone dying.
This one can be a tough one but its not too bad, it will be a level 6 mission (extreme). My advice is to be at least level 25 and have the exosuit AND shield for this. A full team makes it easier to manage and I have found bug missions are best, avoid the moderate stage bugs and aim for the low. STICK TOGETHER as a team spreading out increases your heatmap and spawns in more things. Avoid turrets and other FF heavy things, the precision rail cannon strike is very good. Once you have completed an Extreme mission with no one dying you will then unlock Hell Dive.
Hold my primary, I’m going in!
Complete a full Hard difficulty mission or higher without anyone firing their primary or support weapon.
Load into a bug extermination mission on a level 5 difficulty with others for support they can help you. Be sure to NEVER use your primary weapon, turrets are a good call and so is ammo for your secondary then once you have finished the Hard mission with no one firing their primary you will all unlock Hold my primary, I’m going in!.
Gone in 360 seconds!
Complete a full Extreme difficulty Blitz mission and extract in under 6 minutes.
This one I suggest doing against either bugs or squids, you need to complete the mission in 6 mins or less. Do a search and destroy mission taking exos and explosives like the auto cannon or the grenade launcher. Have a full team if possible and send one team mate off to extraction, once you blow up the ships or close the bug holes all should kill their character’s. The person at extract then calls in the shuttle and respawns all members on them the booster “Expert Extraction Pilot” in the Democratic Detonation Warbond will definitely help you out. Once successfully done you will unlock Gone in 360 seconds!.
Extractamundo!
Extract with a full squad on a Hard difficulty or more mission.
This one should unlock naturally but just in case, all team extracts on a hard difficulty mission to unlock Extractamundo!. Nothing too hectic
Caught them by Supplies!
Kill a Charger with a resupply pod.
This one is a pain in the ass to complete. Chargers are in bug missions and “charge” at you, I tend to just head left or right, the turn terribly. But you need to kill one with a pod. I’d say damage it until either one of its legs shows the yellow flesh or the rear side of it shows the same. Next load up a resupply press L2 to aim do a 4 second count in your head and release. If the stratagem “ball” bounces off then wait for the cool down and hold the throw button for longer then after killing a charger with a resupply pod you will then unlock Caught them by Supplies!.
Samples are a diver’s best friend
Extract with at least 15 rare samples from a mission as a team.
Sample farming is a skill everyone should do. So the rare ones are orange and are sometimes behind crates, buried, kinda everywhere. To drop all your samples hold down on the d-pad to open a radial menu then select the test tube looking one. This way a single member then can hold all samples to extract then once you have 15 rare samples and have extracted you will then unlock Samples are a diver’s best friend.
Doing your part
Complete at least 100 missions.
This will unlock naturally, any difficulty mission counts as long as you extract so do so 100 times which unlocks Doing your part.
It’s the only way to be sure…
Have 6 orbital barrage stratagems in the same place at the same time.
This one is fun. So the orbital gatling barrage at level 0 for 5000 credits. The orbital 120mm at level 5, 4000 credits. Orbital 380mm, level 8 at 7500 credits. Then finally the Orbital Walking Barrage, level 10 and costs 7500 credits. With one other player this is possible I’d suggest to try and get a full lobby to all throw the Orbital 380mm, FOR DEMOCRACY!!. With 6 orbital barrage stratagems in the same place at the same time you will then unlock It’s the only way to be sure….
For the greater good!
Kill 5,000 enemies.
Kill 5000 will unlock to unlock For the greater good!.
Kill it with fire!
Kill 100 enemies using fire damage during the same mission.
There are several ways to inflict fire damage including the Flamethrower, Orbital Napalm Barrage, Incendiary Grenades, Flamethower turret. All those will help just be careful of friendly fire then with 100 enemies killed with fire damage you will then unlock Kill it with fire!.
Get some!
Fire at least 150 rounds in one burst, killing at least 10 enemies.
Another one that’s quite easy. Use a LMG like the Stalwart or something to get this. I find that either Squids or Bugs will be the best way then with an average of 15 rounds per kill fire in one go you will unlock Get some!.
That which does not kill you…
Be injured in all limbs at the same time.
This trophy is deceptively difficult at times. You will be best to use the Armor called “Hero Of The Federation” on page 4 of the warbond named “Helldivers Mobilise” It grants a 50% chance of not dying when taking lethal damage. For this trophy you need to call down a resupply or something that uses a Hellpod to partially clip you. If done correctly you will unlock That which does not kill you…. Keep in mind this might take a fair few tries. it can also unlock naturally, for me a hellbomb went off and ragdolled me into a big rock.
The power of Democracy
Kill 25 enemies with one stratagem.
Turrets, Stratagems and all that count for this. I’d suggest the 500kg or the Cluster air strike and try and aim it across a group as it fires by going from left to right across your screen so use that approach to get the best “bang for your buck”. As long as you defeat 25 enemies with one Stratagem you will then unlock The power of Democracy.
Fully operational
Reach max rank on one ship module.
Samples, Samples, Samples. You will need a lot of them and the Patriotic Administration Centre is the cheapest.
- Level 1 is 60 common samples.
- Level 2 is 80 common and 40 rare.
- Level 3 is 80 common, 60 rare and 5 super samples.
- Level 4 is 150 common, 150 rare, 15 super samples and 20,000 requisition slips.
- Level 5 is 200 common, 200 rare, 20 super samples and 30,000 requisition slips.
In total you need the following to unlock Fully operational:
- 570 common samples.
- 450 rare samples.
- 40 Super Samples
- 50,000 requisition slips.
Ship it!
Upgrade all ship modules at least 1 level.
Refer to Fully operational for more information.
Nothing is bigger than Freedom
Defeat a Hulk.
This can only be obtained in bot missions and on challenging difficulty (4) and above. A railcannon strike will make short work of this and the laser can have the same outcome. Oh little extra information, Rail cannon for bugs and bots, Laser for bugs, bots and squids. They are a fire and forget sort of weapon and with a Hulk defeated you will unlock Nothing is bigger than Freedom.
The taller they are…
Defeat a Bile Titan.
This is only obtainable in bug missions. A single rail cannon strike will make short work of this. Even just the laser will do the same as well then with a Bile Titan down you will unlock The taller they are….
They don’t call it Tacticool for nothin’
Complete 10 tactical objectives.
These are optinal objectives, typically marked blue on the minimap. These are things like SERF cannon eplacements, stalker lairs, RADAR stations and various others that litter the maps. All are quite simple to do as well and should take little time to complete, with 10 tactical objectives complete you will then unlock They don’t call it Tacticool for nothin’.
Let’s call it a draw
Shoot off both arms on a Hulk and then extract while it’s alive.
This one can be a little annoying as you need to blow off both arms off a Hulk. If you’re unsure of what you’re shooting is a hulk then look at it and press R1 to will display the name of the enemy to you. With a Hulk’s arms shot off you will unlock Let’s call it a draw.
Cool guys don’t loo- AAAAH!
Fly at least 25 meters from the shockwave of an explosion.
Hellbombs are a good call for this. They ragdoll you pretty well at times whilst the 500kg is another and as long as you go 25 metres or more from the shockwave you will unlock Cool guys don’t loo- AAAAH!.
Hot Potato!
Throw back a live grenade.
In my 400hr current playtime opinion Squids are best for this. They have the ones who fly around and make it their life goal to throw grenades at you all the time. Throw a live grenade back which will then unlock Hot Potato!.
Bot Scrapper
Play 1 Bot Mission.
Self explanatory. Play 1 Bot mission to unlock Bot Scrapper.
Bug Stomper
Play 1 Bug Mission.
Play one Bug mission to unlock Bug Stomper.
Extractinating the Countryside
Play a planet defense mission.
This might take a little time. We get alerts about defending planets from either Squids, Bugs or Bots. Just play those and follow the war around the map to unlock Extractinating the Countryside.
Patriot
Play at least 50 missions.
This will unlock naturally for you. Play missions on any difficulty to unlock then once the 50th has completed you will then unlock Patriot.
Hold My Liber-tea!
While using a jump pack, knock yourself into a ragdoll state.
Faceplant a large rock or building to enter a ragdoll state. In my case its the normal state for me when i use jetpacks then once you have ragdolled you will unlock Hold My Liber-tea!.
Eat This!
Kill a bug warrior with a shotgun within 1 meter.
For this one just play bug missions with a shotgun. They swarm you very quickly so keeping killing until a Big Warrior turns up then defeat it at very close range with a Shotgun to unlock Eat This!.
Democracy ain’t done with you yet
Heal another player using stims.
If you see a teammate looking a little under the weather press Cross to heal them which unlock Democracy ain’t done with you yet.
Promote Synergy
Provide assisted reload for a teammate.
There are a few weapons to choose from including:
- Recoiless Rifle.
- Autocannon.
- Airburst Rocket Launcher.
- Spear.
- STA-X3 Wasp.
You pick up the backpack that also spawns in with the main weapon then the other player has the gun. You can then walk up to them to provide an assisted reload which unlocks Promote Synergy.
Strapping young lad
Customize your Helldiver with new cape, armor, and helmet.
Towards the front of the ship you walk through a somewhat smaller corridor, On the left are 4 small screens. In there you can change weapons, grenades and your armour, cape and helmet. Change out those then to unlock Strapping young lad.
In the nick of time
Extract after the timer reaches zero.
This is quite easy there’s a few different ways to attempt this. 1st is to try and time your extract so the pick up lands just as the timer reaches zero or wait for it just to reach zero. The blitz missions are good for this. The 2nd way is the same as the first but I let the ship get called down automatically and tough it out for 2-3 mins. Its not difficult to do just be sure to call in a resupply and extra weapons for the fight before the timer reaches zero then extract to unlock In the nick of time.
The Real Deal
Complete Basic Training.
This is the tutorial, It should just play when you boot up the game or find it in the start menu of the game then once complete will unlock The Real Deal.
The long arm of Justice
Kill a target at a distance of over 100m.
The long arm of justice should unlock naturally, even accidently in most cases. But tag an enemy with R1 if it says they are further then 100m then take pot shots until they get killed.
Stalking is illegal
Complete a Stalker Hive tactical objective.
Stalkers are pure 100% concentrated evil. They are bugs that can turn invisible so if you spot any more then 2 coming for you there is a stalker nest close by. Look for a small red blob on the map and clear that blob. If that doesn’t work look for another close by or the Blue icon on a nest then once a Stalker Hive has been cleared you will unlock Stalking is illegal.
Job’s done!
Complete a mission but fail to extract.
Once all main objectives are done and the blue extract beacon is on the map just hold a grenade until it explodes or find the nearest enemy and try and hug them. Do this until all members are dead or the lives have ran out and it will unlock Job’s done!.
Science is done by quantity
Extract with at least 15 common samples.
Common samples are everywhere but this does mean exploring the map to find them. I suggest you choose a objective that can be completed quickly like uploading Blackbox data then work to clear explore the map. if you see diamond icons on your map then be sure to look around thoroughly to find what has been missed. There’s also sometimes a radar station on the map, this will help greatly if you stumble across it and get it working, it shows all icons on the map and is very helpful. Once you have extracted with at least 15 common samples you will unlock Science is done by quantity.
They mostly come at night…
Extract from a mission during nighttime.
When choosing a mission look on the part of the globe map thats in darkness, it even shows a small sun or moon icon if you are in the daytime or night time with a small clock showing the time. You should unlock They mostly come at night… naturally as well.
Spread Managed Democracy
Kill 150 enemies during the same mission.
Killing enemies is the name of the game in Helldivers 2 and as long as you choose a mission with a decent difficulty level and a few objectives you will come up against plenty of enemies especially on a Bug or Squid Worlds. Try and launch with another player then ensure you both understand one of you is to get the majority of the kills with the other playing a supporting role then switch around if needs be, Playing on 6 difficulty should make this a breeze with turrets and LMGs in the starting weapons. Either way, once you have killed 150+ enemies in the same mission you will then unlock Spread Managed Democracy.
