Blind boxes can either be won during story mode or bought via the shop for 500 coins each so it’s recommended that you get story mode to 100% completion to get all the free blind boxes. Then in collaboration with Unbridled luxury for obtaining 100,000 coins you can then use the coins to buy blind boxes until you have opened a total of 100 where your Trophy will then unlock.

First-timer
Complete the tutorial.

Run through the opening race which serves as the tutorial for the game where you will learn the basic controls. Upon completion you will then unlock your Trophy.

Just starting
Upgrade the Rarity of one Common vehicle.

Upgrade the Rarity of 10 Common vehicles.

In order to upgrade common vehicles you will firstly need 10 in your collection and will need 2,000 spare gears (200 per vehicle) then choose collection from the main menu and select any of the common cars you own followed by pressing Cross to upgrade, repeat this 9 more times to unlock your Trophy.

Fine work
Upgrade the Rarity of one Rare vehicle.

Upgrade the Rarity of 15 Rare vehicles.

Very similar to Well advanced except this time you’re upgrading 15 rare vehicles, each rare vehicle costs 500 gears to upgrade so you will need a total of 7,500 spare gears (for tips on obtaining gears see What do I do with so many). With the 7,500 gears obtained head to your collection then press Cross to upgrade each rare vehicle and once 15 have been upgraded your Trophy will then unlock.

The best way to get to the 100k target is to play through all other aspects of the game like career mode and multiplayer where you will earn coins naturally. You can sell any car in your collection for coins by pressing L2 depending on the cars rarity depends how many coins you receive stating at 300 for common and moving up to 2,000 for super treasure hunt cars. You will need to open a total of 100 blind boxes to unlock Box collector so these 2 trophies can be combined onto one action by opening blind boxes and then immediately selling those cars.

A method has been discovered that earns you around 7,000 coins per hour of gameplay but this does require a custom made track and boosting partner and is done by creating a track through the track builder option, in the track builder simply add a start line and finish line element and publish the track. Now enter this race via a multiplayer private lobby and then choose the track you created, you will then receive 100 coins per victory. Thanks to racing seasons you can level up and earn coins however these events are time limited so this option is only available when these events are active. Whichever way you choose to rack up coins once you hit 100,000 your Trophy will then unlock.

Gears, like coins are not very easy to come by so this could take time to achieve, your best strategy is to get 100% completion in story mode first as gears are rewarded for completing events. With career mode done you can dismantle any car in your collection for gears by pressing R2, depending on the cars’ rarity depends how many gears you receive stating at 50 for common and moving up to 500 for super treasure hunt cars.

You will need to open a total of 100 blind boxes for Box collector so these 2 trophies can be combined into one action by opening blind boxes and then immediately dismantling those cars. Once you hit 25,000 gears your Trophy will unlock.

Friends no more
Complete a race in Split Screen mode.

This requires a second controller or friend via shareplay (PlayStation), choose quick play modes and then split screen. Choose any car and track you wish for both players and enter the race, once compete your Trophy will unlock.

Spendthrift
Make a purchase in the Shop.

Firstly, complete a few races where you’ll have some coin available (you need at least 500) then go Main Menu> Shop> Blind Box> Buy. Once purchased your Trophy will unlock.

Tell no one
Meet the requirements of a Secret Event.

Meet the requirements of all the Secret Events.

The City Rumble story mode has a total of 9 secrets that need to be completed, each secret informs you of basic information on how to unlock it. I have split the 9 secrets into 2 sections of linear and unmissable secrets and those that need certain conditions to be met to unlock.
Linear / unmissable:

Complete the Jurassic Predator boss race.
Complete the Snow Pilot boss race.
Win all 5 boss races.
Uncover 3 different secrets.

Conditional:

Complete the journey begins driving the Hot Wheels High Vehicle.
Complete Amazing Drivers event with the Motosaurus.
Compete Reckless Driving with the Bone Shaker.
Complete the Best Event with the Buns Of Steel.
With Secret 8 complete this unlocks an event called Top Secret so win this event.

With all 9 secrets completed in any order your Trophy will then unlock.

The City Rumble story mode compromises a total of 5 boss races you can unlock and race these in any order, each boss race adds a new hazard to contend with so it slightly increases the difficulty of these races. The 5 bosses are as follows:

Ex Machina, The Nitro Bot.
The Shadow of the Scorpion, The Scorpion.
Jurassic Predator, The Terrordactyl.
Snow Pilot, The Yeti.
Ghost Seekers, The Haunted House.

With the victory secured in all 5 races your Trophy will then unlock.

Take the stage
Validate a Track in Track Builder mode.

Validate a total of 5 Tracks in Track Builder mode.

When you first enter the track builder the game will automatically show you how this mode works so your first track will show you the basics of the mode then also show you how to validate a track. After this you have free reign so choose a map then place a course start line then a finish line followed by pausing the game and validating the track, repeat this a further 3 times to unlock your Trophy.

You unlock secret rarity vehicles though story mode progression by completing the set requirements for each vehicle. The list of vehicles and there requirements are as follows:

442: Reveal all 9 story mode secrets (See Keeper of Secrets for more information).
Ramblin wrecker: Win all 5 boss races (See No more rivals left for more information).
Hi-po hauler: Beat the unleashed goal for all 32 time attacks in story mode (See King of the city for more information).
Duck n roll: Win all 52 race events in story mode (Play right the way through City Rumble).
VW beach bomb: Unlocks automatically when all 4 other story mode secret vehicles have been unlocked.

The game features a 6th secret vehicle the Cadillac Seville by Gucci but this vehicle isn’t required. Once you unlock all 5 secret vehicles, your Trophy will unlock.

Now try online
Win a Quick Race with AI Difficulty set to Hard (not unlockable in Split Screen mode).

Choose options from the main menu and set the AI to hard difficulty, now choose quick play and quick race, you’re free to select any track and car you like but be aware that the AI will be ruthless in this mode so expert track knowledge is needed in order to succeed. Should you not be able to beat the AI then choose a course with a shortcut like Applied Gravity from the College Campus map and use the shortcuts available to make life easier. Once you do win the race against AI on hard difficulty your Trophy will unlock.

A podium is a finish in 1st, 2nd or 3rd place and at first it may seem like a big number but it’s not as bad as it sounds as you need win all race events in career mode (52), win all 5 boss races in career mode (5), and win 5 online races (5), so that’s well over half the number already and that does not include any podium finishes that aren’t victories. Should you complete all other modes and still not have this one start a quick play event and choose a short circuit and fast car with the AI set to easy until you have 100 podiums at which point your Trophy will unlock.

Boost is one of the main mechanics that make up how Hot Wheels Unleashed plays, you use boost to gain massive speed for a short space of time. Each vehicle in the game has boost capabilities from a charged boost that can only be activated when full or a free boost that can be deployed at any time. To charge the boost gauge up you need to either drive as fast as possible for a gradual charge or drift around corners to receive a faster charge, running over boost strips on track also help.

With the boost ready to deploy simply press Cross for a vehicle that has charged boost or press and hold Cross for a vehicle that has free boost. You can track your boost time on the statistics screen that follows each and every race and once you reach a cumulative 3,600 seconds of boost your Trophy will then unlock.

Complete a Quick Race in Multiplayer mode.

Multiplayer races see you compete against up to 11 other human controlled players, each track you race on is voted for by the lobby from a choice of 5 featuring 3 created by the developers and 2 by the community. When in a multiplayer lobby you need to try your best to make minimal mistakes as one mistake can and will cost you the victory, a good all round vehicle is essential to online play but more importantly you need to maximise your boost and drift mechanics to maintain a lead. Should you be struggling this can be done in a private lobby with only one other player and you will get all other online trophies on your way to the 5 wins. Once you take the 5 wins in multiplayer quick races, your Trophy will unlock.

Master of drift
Drift for a total of 500,000 centimeters (196,850 inches).

Drifting is one of the main mechanics in Hot Wheels Unleashed, as you drift around corners it helps fill up your boost bar so the more you drift the faster you can go, by using carful steering and throttle application you can make drifts go on for long distances. You can track your drift distance via the stats screen that follows each and every event you take part in. This should come naturally as I got this around 60% of the way through story. Once you drift for a total of 5km (500,000 centimetres) your Trophy will unlock.
