Lies Of P Golden Lie Special Weapon

Here we will go over how to obtain the Lies of P Golden Lie Special Weapon which to do so will task you with fulfilling a series of exact requirements as you progress through the game which begin as soon as you enter Hotel Krat in Chapter 1 and won’t be concluded after you have taken down the penultimate boss at the end of the game.

If you miss just one of these steps, most of which are highly missable you won’t be able to obtain the Golden Lie which is arguably the best weapon in the game. The main requirement you need to fulfil is to become a true liar where you then transition from a puppet to a Human. Here is an overview of the main requirements you need to fulfil:

• You will need to lie at every given opportunity in the game.
• Collect the Portrait as soon as the Eldest of the Black Rabbit Brotherhood boss is defeated.
• Give the Portrait to Geppetto before speaking to anyone else.
• Collect every record possible up until the point you take down the Laxasia the Complete boss (9 by this point).
• Play every record you have (9 in total) in full where the record will then appear sleeve-less as a record rather than have the yellow sleeve.
• Do not go into the room after the bridge where you fight the Laxasia the Complete boss.
• Achieve the “Your Heart is Pounding” message.
• Pick the Cat up.

With all of the requirements achieved as listed above you will be able to collect the weapon once you have given Sophia peace where your hair will turn grey and you will then be “Human”.

Given the amount of missable elements there are and in trying to put a guide together for the Golden Lie Special Weapon I thought it best to create a separate guid for all of the potentially missable elements in Lies of P so refer to the Lies of P Story Progression Essentials guide for a full look at how best to unlock the Golden Lie.

Listening to the records of which there are 9 in total you will have by the point you have defeated the Laxasia the Complete boss will give you small amounts of Humanity each time so either listen to them as you get them or just put the records on play at the gramophone and go off and do something ensuring your controller doesn’t turn off.

Around Hotel Krat will be a Cat you can interact with, it does go to different locations which change when you fast travel with the 2 most common areas being on a cushion behind Eugenie and on the upper right balcony as you run round to Geppetto’s quarters. The more Human you become the more you can do with the cat.

When you get to the Chapter 5 Malum District go through and defeat the Eldest of the Black Rabbit Brotherhood boss then immediately go into the town hall, go into the room on your left and collect the Portrait of a Boy. Return this to Geppetto as soon as you are pass Giangio and back in the Hotel, Geppetto will then hang this in his quarters to the left of the door as you exit back to the Hotel balcony.

The nose on the portrait will grow the more you lie throughout the game and gain Humanity by performing certain actions (curing Antonia, confronting Arlecchino, killing Alidoro etc.). It will, once you start feeling warmth begin to sprout leaves and twist around at the the end.

Once the Laxasia the Complete boss is defeated, ensure you have played all 9 records you have, and told every lie up until and including the Arlecchino lie in the Trinity Sanctum in the lower section of the Arche Abbey Outer Wall biome.

From here, you can then go through and speak to Sophia who you need to offer peace to where she will then die and providing you have fulfilled every requirement as listed above your hair will turn grey.

You can then go and retrieve the Golden Lie Special Weapon from the portrait which I did by fast travelling back to Hotel Krat immediately after the cutscene ends with Sophia.
