Here’s a quick look at how to unlock the Lies of P St. Frangelico Cathedral Chapel shortcut which will help you get back to the top of the Cathedral without having to traverse the rafters again.
St. Frangelico Cathedral Chapel is of course in Chapter 4 and requires you to go down a ladder, cross the Decay pool before climbing and navigating your way up to the top pass enemies who will charge at you as well as throw lumps of decay all in an attempt to send you off the rafters and it is the single most annoying area in the game so here’s a look at how to unlock a lift which means you’ll only have to do it once, not the several times you would have to without having the shortcut open.
Cross the Decay pool then climb the ladder, lure the Carcass enemy to you on the platform then inch forward on the walkway to spawn another Carcass all whilst avoiding the Brute throwing Decay before crossing the beams and eliminating her.
Climb the ladder then carefully work along the beam keeping your character straight and roll through the Decay throw before turning right, lining up the next beam , wait for the wheel to move out of the way then roll through to the large platform, turn left and kill the Brute.
Continue along the platform luring the Carcass enemy to you, dash back then slash it to kill it where you can then start crossing the final set of beams where you will again have a Brute throwing Decay at you so move quickly to the platform.
Wait for the wheel to spin round to where you can walk through without getting knocked off by one of the spindles, dash behind the Brute then put her down before climbing down the ladder.
Heal up as you will more than likely take a big smack from the lightning ball rolling down the hill. I have tried numerous times too avoid the ball but it seems like a hit you need to tank which is risky as there are 2 Carcass enemies to deal with on a narrow ledge. One as soon as you turn off the ramp and another who comes round the corner.
Follow the path along to the next room where you will have 2 Carcass enemies and a Decay throwing Brute in a doorway so use thrusting attacks or throw a Thermite to bring her down as sweeping attacks will hit the wall and doorway before they hit the target.
Continue along through the passage to the top of the area then sprint across the first gap when the spindle is just about level with the platform, wait, then run and jump when the next cog makes a gap available.
Go to the end of the walkway then turn right before going through the gate and pull the lever at the end. This will now make the platforms that where going down change direction meaning if you die or return to the Stargazer you can go to the right of the Decay pool and simple ride the platforms up to the top of the Cathedral meaning you never have to go through the rafters again unless you choose to.
