Lies Of P Story Lies And Truths

Here we will go over all of the choices you need to make as you progress through both of your required playthroughs focusing on the Lies of P story Lies and Truths which will determine not only how Human you can become by the end of the game the choices you make will also offer a variety of rewards, collectibles, endings and character progression so knowing when to lie and when to tell the truth is a core element of Lies of P.

During the story and in certain circumstances you will be prompted to make a dialogue choice which will either prove to be a Lie or a Truth you can also interact with several NPC’s who also have dialogue choices for you to make. As you lie you will gain more Humanity where as telling the truth will cast you deeper into the role as a puppet even thought the truth is usually a lot harsher than a potential lie.

Ensure you follow along with the Lies of P Story Progression Essentials guide I put together to ensure you don’t miss out on anything as you progress through the game.

Several of the Story Lies and Truth options are missable if you just charge through the game without speaking to the NPC’s and several of the Lies and Truths are highly missable which then also locks you out of certain trophies so ensure you follow the guide as you progress through the story so you don’t then miss out on anything.

I recommend playing through your first playthrough telling lies as you go as it will be easier to progress than telling the truth. You can then tell the truth on your second playthrough which allows you to mop up the remaining collectibles whilst you also have much higher level gear than you will have had on your first run.

The dialogue choices and where they can be found throughout the game are as follows:

 

The majority of the choices you make can be over-written by making specific decisions at the end of the game, however, you will need to answer appropriately in order to unlock the relevant collectibles on a given playthrough.

Hotel Krat Entrance

Location: Chapter 1, Hotel Krat.
You will need to lie your way into Hotel Krat so when asked who you are you need to select the “Human” dialogue option which also unlocks First Lie.

Weeping Woman

Location: Chapter 2, Inside the House on Elysion Boulevard.
Missable.
From the Stargazer inside the house go around the rooftops then wait before dropping down into the courtyard as you will have a formidable enemy to deal with when you do. Instead, look to your right to see the silhouette of a lady in the window who is wanting you to find her child in City Hall.

Proceed through the area taking down the Mad Donkey Boss, meet Geppetto then go through the next area taking care around the electrified traps then before going into the next building look to your right to see a large headless puppet who you need to defeat which allows you to collect the Broken Baby Puppet.

Return the Baby to the Weeping Woman then pass her her baby where she will then ask you if her baby is adorable.

  • Lie playthrough you want to choose the “She’s a cute baby” dialogue option.
  • Truth playthrough you need to choose the “That’s a puppet” dialogue option.

The Atoned

Location: Chapter 4, Moonlight Town.
Proceed through Moonlight Town to the train car you will need to ride up the mountain to the St. Frangelico Cathedral Chapel. Before you can access the train car you need to speak with the Atoned, a Stalker who asks you if you are a fellow Stalker or something else.

In order to lie to the Atoned you need to have already taken down the Survivor boss in the Venigni Factory which rewards you with the Stalker’s Promise gesture so if you haven’t done that go back and defeat him then come back and speak to the Atoned.

  • Lie playthrough you want to choose the “Give the Stalker’s Greeting” dialogue option.
  • Truth playthrough you need to choose the “Do Nothing” dialogue option which will then cause her to fight you.

Alidoro

Location: Chapter 4, St. Frangelico Cathedral Library.
Make your way up and around the biome to where you come back down into the pool of decay where you take the staircase up into the main library area. At the back of this section will be an elevator you can use to get to the rooftop where you will meet the Hound, Alidoro.

Speak with him where he will eventually ask you if you know of anywhere safe for him to go.

  • Lie playthrough you want to choose the “Venigni Works” dialogue option.
  • Truth playthrough you need to choose the “Hotel Krat” dialogue option.

Alidoro, Venigni Factory

Location: Chapter 3, Workshop Union Entrance (Chapter 5)
After speaking with Alidoro at the top of the Cathedral go and defeat the Fallen Archbishop Andreus boss which will start Chapter 5 shortly after. When you’re done with everything you need to do you will then see Alidoro’s Avatar next to the Chapter 3, Workshop Union Entrance Stargazer so when that appears, fast travel there.

Upon arriving, go up the stairs to your right and take an immediate left to find Alidoro cowering in the corner. Speak with the Hound who will be upset that you sent him to a place of danger where he will then ask if you know of any place of real safety.

  • Lie playthrough you want to choose the “Elysion Boulevard” dialogue option.
 

You will not encounter Alidoro in the Venigni Factory on your Truth playthrough as you will have sent him directly to Hotel Krat.

Julian

Location: Chapter 6, Rosa Isabelle Street Culvert.
After you have defeated the White Lady boss follow the staircase up, rest at the Rosa Isabelle Street Culvert Stargazer then look to your right to find Julian who asks you to find his wife’s body which is on Rosa Isabelle Street.

Agree to Fetch her belongings then head through the sewers and around the area to where a puppet Soldier is torching some corpses. Kill him then turn around to see an angled staircase against the back wall with Julian’s bride slumped against the staircase wall.

Interact with her corpse to receive a Wedding Ring then go back to Julian and work through his dialogue where can either comfort or berate his idea of being in love with a puppet.

  • Lie playthrough you want to choose the “I saw the message she left, saying she loves you” dialogue option.
  • Truth playthrough you need to choose the “I’ve never seen that happen before” dialogue option.

Polendina

Location: Chapter 6, Hotel Krat.
Polendina is the Concierge at Hotel Krat and now that Romeo is dead he has become self aware and has developed feelings for Lady Antonia. Polendina has left his usual post behind the desk and has ventured out into the courtyard before the City Hall district. Go and speak with him where he will require affirmation he is correct to be feeling Human emotions as a puppet.

  • Lie playthrough you want to choose the “There’s no such puppet” dialogue option.
  • Truth playthrough you need to choose the “I have” dialogue option.
  • Truth playthrough has a second option if you have satisfied the requirements for Julian having found the Wedding you can also choose the “Show the wedding ring” option.

Lady Antonia

Location: Chapter 6, Hotel Krat.
Speak with Lady Antonia after you have defeated Romeo, King of Puppets in the Estrella Opera House biome in Hotel Krat where she will reminisce about her younger years as she sits in front of a portrait of her former self before asking you if she has any beauty left in spite of the Petrification disease spreading across her face.

  • Lie playthrough you want to choose the “Of Course” dialogue option.
  • Truth playthrough you need to choose the “There is nothing left” dialogue option.

Belle

Location: Chapter 7, Grand Exhibition Gallery and Chapter 9 Krat Central Station Platform.
Highly Missable.
Belle is a missable NPC who is hiding in the rafters of the Grand Exhibition Gallery in Chapter 7 and you need to speak with her before you defeat the Champion Victor boss. If you fail to speak with Belle then she will disappear until your next playthrough.

As you progress through the Gallery you will come to an area with 3 spinning Jesters who throw Electric canisters at you as well as a double-shielded Sentinel who thumps down the corridor. Get pass them all then climb the ladder out on the gantry.

Defeat the sword-wielding puppet then drop down to your left once you’re on the blue rafters to the balcony below where you can then find Belle at the end of the walkway. Speak with her twice to exhaust her dialogue and ensure then go and defeat Champion Victor.

Belle will be at the Hotel once Victor has been defeated, however, you will need to play through the game until after the Hotel attack, then, at the end of Chapter 9 after you have taken down the Corrupted Parade Master boss you can speak with Belle who will ask you to find her comrade who has gone missing.

Agree to find him.

Fast travel to the Krat Central Station Platform biome then, if you managed to climb the ladder over to the left of where the large Crocodile-Scorpion hybrid Elite is pacing around you can open a shortcut back to the Stargazer which enables you to go down the stairs after turning right from the Stargazer.

Turn around at the bottom of the stairs to find an open green train car inside of which will be Atkinson who is not looking healthy.

Speak with Atkinson until you receive Atkinson’s Letter then put him out of his misery (kill him) before returning to Belle in Hotel Krat.

Speak with Belle where she will then ask about Atkinson’s Fate.

  • Lie playthrough you want to choose the “He was killed in action fighting a puppet” dialogue option.
  • Truth playthrough you need to choose the “He became a monster” dialogue option.

Simon Manus

Location: Chapter 7, Grand Exhibition Gallery.
You will be able to speak with Simon Manus once you have defeated the Champion Victor boss which concludes Chapter 7. Simon will ask you several questions, however, only one has dialogue options available where Mr Manus is trying to get your agreement to the point the Petrification disease is the cure for Humanity.

  • Lie playthrough you want to choose the “Monsters” dialogue option.
  • Truth playthrough you need to choose the “Hope for a cure” dialogue option.

Eugenie

Location: Chapter 8, Hotel Krat / Barren Swamp.
Barren Swamp is a biome which opens once you have defeated the Champion Victor boss and have spoken with Simon Manus so before you go there you will need to speak with Eugenie in Hotel Krat who will give you a glove specially made for Alidoro. Head to the Barren Swamp, make your way through the biome to where you can send the explosive mine kart down the tracks to destroy the ghat creating a shortcut.

Head further down the path where you will find Alidoro so speak to him and offer him the gloves which he will not be grateful for scoffing at their poor quality. You then need to head back to Hotel and speak with Eugenie again where she will ask about the gloves and what Alidoro thought of them.

  • Lie playthrough you want to choose the “He was happy” dialogue option.
  • Truth playthrough you need to choose the “He was angry, he said the gloves were rubbish” dialogue option.

King Of Riddles

Location: Chapter 10, Relic of Trismegistus.
Head through the Relic of Trismegistus biome to where the large axe-wielding puppet ambushes you.

Put it down then continue along the path taking a left up the ramp to the payphone where Arlecchino will ask you if you’re a killer.

  • Lie Playthrough you want to choose the “No” dialogue option.
  • Truth playthrough you need to choose the “Yes” dialogue option.

Venigni

Location: Chapter 10, Hotel Krat.
Work through the Relic of Trismegistus Entrance biome and defeat the Black Rabbit Brotherhood boss then return to Hotel Krat where you can speak with Venigni who is struggling to hear the words on the device.

The reason Venigni is unable to hear the words is due to the fact he’s Human, when you listen to the message you can hear clearly that Geppetto is behind the frenzy. Venigni will then ask you if you managed to hear anything.

  • Lie playthrough you want to choose the “I couldn’t hear” dialogue option.
  • Truth playthrough you need to choose the “Geppetto caused the puppet frenzy” dialogue option.

Alidoro, Venigni And Eugenie

Location: Chapter 10, Relic of Trismegistus Entrance / Hotel Krat.
Highly Missable.
Go through the Relic of Trismegistus Entrance biome and take down the Black Rabbit Brotherhood boss where you can then go up through the passage to find Alidoro standing next to a small fire.

Speak with him ensuring you exhaust his dialogue options then choose the “Attack Alidoro” option before confirming you want to attack where you can slay Alidoro who is an imposter. Doing so will give you the Alidoro’s Cryptic Vessel.

Go back to Hotel Krat and speak to Venigni tasking him with deciphering the Alidoro’s Cryptic Vessel which will reward you with the Alidoro’s Cryptic Vessel Decryption which you need to open and read all 4 pages of.

With the Decryption read you can now go and speak to Eugenie who doubts as to the authenticity of who Alidoro really is.

  • Lie playthrough you want to choose the “I think he was just a talented Stalker” dialogue option. This unlocks The Story of a Stranger Girl as well as rewarding you with the Far East Princess record.
  • Truth playthrough you need to choose the “The real Alidoro was murdered by the fake one” dialogue option.
  • Truth playthrough has a second option which becomes available after you have killed Alidoro then allowed Venigni to decipher the cryptic vessel where you can then choose the “He was Eugenie’s older brother” dialogue option. This dialogue option grans you the Proposal, Flower, Wolf Part 1 Record.

Arlecchino

Location: Chapter 10, Relic of Trismegistus Entrance / Arche Abbey Outer Wall.
After you deal with the powerful axe-wielding puppet in the Relic of Trismegistus you can then follow the path around to your left and stay left up the path to find a payphone. Interact with the phone then choose the “I’m not a killer” dialogue option which gives you the King of Riddle’s Surprise Box which you can open to obtain the Chosen One’s Trinity Key

Head through the game to the Arche Abbey Outer Wall biome, make your way through the area and kick the ladder down to the Stargazer before climbing the ladder by the gun-wielding puppet.

Go down through the tower to where the Macho Man will ambush you. Defeat him then look to the back wall to find the trinity sanctum you can open inside of which you will find Arlecchino wrapped up in telephone lines against the wall. Speak to him  where he will ask you if you’re a puppet or a Human.

  • Lie playthrough you want to choose the “Human” dialogue option.
  • Truth playthrough you need to choose the “Puppet” dialogue option.

Sophia

Location: Chapter 11, Ascension Bridge.
Once you have defeated the Laxasia the Complete boss go into the now open room at the back of the bridge only once you have seen the “My Heart is Pounding” message appear on screen.

Refer to the Lies of P Story Progression Essentials guide for a full rundown of what you need to before entering Sophia’s Chambers.

Interact with Sophia where you need to make a choice regarding Sophia’s fate. Be careful here as the decision you choose will impact the ending you receive so it would be advisable to make a back-up save before proceeding.

  • Lie playthrough you want to choose the “Give her peace” dialogue option.
  • Truth playthrough you need to choose the “Let her live” dialogue option.

Geppetto

Location: Chapter 11, Arche Abbey Upper Part – Internal Bridge.
You will come across Geppetto in his cell as part of the story so continue through the area to this point then speak with him where he will ask you if he was a trustworthy Father.

  • Lie playthrough you want to choose the “Yes” dialogue option.
  • Truth playthrough you need to choose the “No” dialogue option.

Transformed Simon Manus

Location: Chapter 11, Arche Abby Cradle of the Gods.
Defeat the Simon Manus, Awakened God boss where he will then ask you about Sophia’s fate. The answer you need to give will all depend on if you are following along with this guide so when you spoke to Sophia earlier in the game you will have on your lie playthrough chosen to “give her peace” and on your truth playthrough you will have needed to have chosen the “let her live” option.

  • Lie playthrough you want to choose the “I liberated her from Arche Abbey” dialogue option because you let her die.
  • Truth playthrough you need to choose the “I liberated her from Arche Abbey” dialogue option because you allowed her to live.
 

This may sound confusing but as you killed her in your lie playthrough a lie would then be the fact you liberated her and the truth requires the same response as you did liberate her.
