Here is the Lords of the Fallen Moving On trophy guide which will help you save Byron and Winterberry from themselves and each other through what is again a highly failable NPC questline which takes place throughout the early – mid game and if you miss 1 step you will fail and need to try again on your next playthrough. The Moving On trophy revolves around Byron, a former Lampbearer who has lost his love and Winterberry, a deformed child who prefers to live in the shadows collecting trinkets than to come out and be ridiculed by the World.
You will need to head through the starting areas of the game then once you’re in the Sunless Skein you will need to go down into Revelation Depths BEFORE stepping on the elevator after the Skinstealer boss fight as the purpose of Moving On is to help Byron find peace and provide sanctuary for both Winterberry and Byron at Skyrest Bridge, if you fail to do so then Byron will kill Winterberry then fall into despair when you tell him he killed a child, not a Monster as he previously assumed. Follow these steps to successfully complete Byron and Winterberry’s questline:
Speak To Byron
Location: Pilgrim’s Perch, Vestige of Blind Agatha.
Speak to Byron who will be next to Vestige of Blind Agatha exhausting his dialogue.
Speak To Byron Again
Location: Forsaken Fen, Vestige of Valade.
Speak to Byron who will be next to Vestige of Valade exhausting his dialogue.
Speak To Byron Once More
Location: Sunless Skein, Vestige of Catrin.
Speak to Byron who will be next to Vestige of Catrin exhausting his dialogue where he will tell you about his fallen love and that someone has stolen her Pendant.
Speak To Winterberry
Location: Sunless Skein, Vestige of Catrin.
As you make your way around to the exit of Sunless Skein and to the Skinstealer boss fight you will drop down onto the upper level of the storage room. Pull the lever to open the portcullis giving you a direct path back to the Vestige of Catrin. Before dropping down, go round to the right side and speak to Winterberry once all enemies in the local area are down and exhaust hr dialogue. You can also purchase several items from her as well.
Report To Byron
Location: Sunless Skein, Vestige of Catrin.
Having spoken to Winterberry, go back and tell Byron you have found the Pendant and that a young girl has it.
Defeat Skinstealer
Location: Sunless Skein, Vestige of Catrin.
Defeat the Skinstealer boss to acquire the Drainage Control Key but straight after the fight DO NOT STEP ON THE ELEVATOR!. It will fail the quest.
Open Revelation Depths
Location: Sunless Skein, Vestige of Catrin.
Head down the stairs from the Skinstealer boss arena, go into the sewer then follow the path up to the door you can open with the Drainage Control Key and
Find Winterberry
Location: Sunless Skein, Vestige of Catrin.
Head down through the Revelation Depths to the area where the bridge has been raised causing you to go right through the tunnels and caverns then go out and kick the bridge down pass the Poison Ranger. Go back into the cavern then look to the left wall and smash the wooden barrier before following the path to the end where Winterberry will be waiting. Purchase any new items she has.
Ride Elevator To Upper Calrath
Location: Sunless Skein, Vestige of Catrin.
Once Winterberry has been spoken to go straight back to the arena where you defeated the Skinstealer boss and ride the elevator up to Upper Calrath and speak to Byron. This will now cause Byron and Winterberry to go to Skyrest Bridge.
Open The Crypt
Location: Skyrest Bridge, Vestige of Ethryg.
If you have already opened the Crypt behind Skyrest Bridge then head down there, if not then leave Skyrest Bridge and go round pass the Vestige of Chabui, drop down then follow the path to the elevator. Ride it up then follow the path down, hold the Lamp up to create an Umbral bridge then release the Lamp and drop down. Follow the path round after going into Umbral then grab the Skyrest Bridge Key, cross the bridge then back to Axiom then take a left and open the door to the Crypt.
Finalise The Questline
Location: Skyrest Bridge, Vestige of Ethryg.
Now that you have access to the Crypt, head down there and speak to Byron who will thank you which then unlocks Moving On.
Rewards
Now that Winterberry is safe at Skyrest Bridge, rest at the Vestige then go back and speak to her where you can purchase the remaining items she has for sale.
