Here is the Lords of the Fallen The Price of Knowledge trophy guide which will help you find Exacter Dunmire the knowledge he seeks which is done by finding and returning certain items out in the World to Dunmire before he decides he’s now equipped enough to go out in World of Mournstead… Which should go well :/. There are several missable items you need to acquire as well as needing to return them before certain points in the game so ensure you follow the steps in the following order although Exacter Dunmire’s questline is more relaxed than certain other NPCs in the game it would be a shame to waste another playthrough:
- Speak to Exacter Dunmire.
- Activate the Vestige of Chabui.
- Speak to Exacter Dunmire again.
- Collect and return the Bloody Aspergillum.
- Collect and return the Hallowed Sentinel Scripture.
- Collect and return the Book of Sin.
- Collect and return the Vanguard Barro’s Rosary.
- Collect and return the Ravager Gregory’s Rosary.
- Defeat the Unbroken Promise boss.
- Return the Dark Crusader’s Call.
Speak To Exacter Dunmire
Location: Skyrest Bridge, Vestige of Ethryg.
Once you get to Skyrest Bridge, speak to Exacter Dunmire who will be at the top of the stairs in front of the Vestige exhausting all of his dialogue.
Activate The Vestige of Chabui
Location: Skyrest Bridge, Vestige of Ethryg.
Leave Skyrest Bridge once you’re done then go through to the next Vestige, the Vestige of Chabui. You then need to fast travel back to Skyrest Bridge.
Speak To Exacter Dunmire Again
Location: Skyrest Bridge, Vestige of Ethryg.
Once you’re back in Skyrest Bridge, Exacter Dunmire will have moved to the study which can be found by putting the Vestige of Ethryg at your back then going right and down the stairs. Speak to Exacter Dunmire again exhausting all of his dialogue.
Collect And Return The Bloody Aspergillum
Location: Skyrest Bridge, Vestige of Chabui.
Fast travel back to the Vestige of Chabui then go through the Chapel and take out the Scourged Sister Delyth boss. Once she’s down go back up the steps, take out the 2 Penitent enemies on your right then collect the Bloody Aspergillum from in front of the statue. Return the Bloody Aspergillum to Dunmire.
Collect And Return The Hallowed Sentinel Scripture
Location: Pilgrim’s Perch, Vestige of Blind Agatha.
Rest at the Vestige of Blind Agatha then go right and into Umbral where you can drop down into the small lake bed and go up the stairs following the path round to the section where you can drop down onto a large wooden platform. Take out the enemies then focus on the Knight who will be up on the back platform and put him down. You can then go up to the platform where the Knight was and collect the Hallowed Sentinel Scripture from the end of the walkway. Return the Scripture to Dunmire the next time you visit Skyrest Bridge.
Collect And Return The Book Of Sin
Location: Pilgrim’s Perch, Vestige of Blind Agatha.
Work your way through Pilgrim’s Perch from the Vestige of Blind Agatha to the Umbral Entity you need to remove by Soulflaying the 3 corpses. There will be one off to the left up the ramp, another to the right above the platform you’ll be on. Then the third will require you to go down the 2 slopes then look off to the left of the far end of the platform. On this platform will be a statue you can Soulflay which drops the Book of Sin, collect it then return the Book to Dunmire when you get the chance.
Collect And Return The Vanguard Barro's Rosary
Location: Forsaken Fen, Vestige of Valade.
If you know where the Mendacious Visage boss arena then get yourself back there, if not go pass the fallen tree trunk and the first bonfire then continue going straight. You would usually take a left and go pass the 2 poisonous Rock Turtles, instead, go into Umbral then head down into the river bed smashing the weak green walls before taking a right whilst staying against the left wall. Soulflay the corpse then go through and defeat the Mendacious Visage boss then with the fight done go out of the arena through the back side to come to a wooden walkway you can follow around and down to a shack inside of which will be the Vanguard Barro’s Rosary. Dunmire will need the Rosary so return it to him next time you’re in Skyrest Bridge.
Collect And Return The Ravager Gregory's Rosary
Location: Lower Calrath, Vestige of Lydia the Numb Witch.
Head through Lower Calrath from the Vestige of Lydia the Numb Witch to the wooden ramp you need to climb up behind the bonfire and Infernal Enchantress, go up the stairs and defeat the Proselyte Knight then look left to see a set of double doors inside the building. Go through the wooden doors using your Lamp to phase through then climb up to the top of the area where you will find an impaled corpse which will hold the Ravage Gregory’s Rosary. Return the Rosary to Dunmire when you’re next at Skyrest Bridge.
Defeat The Unbroken Promise Boss
Location: Revelation Depths, Vestige of Lost Berescu.
The Unbroken Promise boss can be found in the very depths of Revelation Depths, a completely optional region you can cess by firstly defeating the Skinstealer boss then using the Drainage Control Key on the gate in the sewers back down the stairs which allows you to pull the lever where the cages will form a path to the Depths. Work down through the Depths to the Vestige of Lost Berescu which will be underneath the final wooden platform. You will need to defeat Dervla then go straight into the Unbroken Promise fight so as it’s a double boss fight ensure you are appropriately geared and levelled. With the Unbroken Promise down you will receive the Harrower Dervla’s Rosary and the Dark Crusader’s Call amongst other items.
Return The Dark Crusader's Call
Location: Skyrest Bridge, Vestige of Ethryg.
Return the Dark Crusader’s Call to Exacter Dunmire in Skyrest Bridge as soon as you can after acquiring it from the Unbroken Promise.
Collect And Return The Umbral Tome
Location: Sunless Skein, Vestige of Antuli.
Now you have access to the Revelation Depths you will have opened all required paths leading through to the end of Dunmire’s quest. First up, get back to the Vestige of Antuli then go down through the tunnel opposite back up the wooden stairs. Go to the platform near the top then into Umbral, jump across to the platform and Soulflay the statue where you will receive the Umbral Tome which you need to return to Dunmire.
Collect And Return The Perception Wisp
Location: Tower of Penance, Vestige of Brother Jeremiah.
Head down through the Manse to the Tower of Penance which you can find by crossing the bridge after opening the door with the Abbot Vernoff’s Key after defeating the Blessed Carrion Knight, Sanisho. Ride the elevator up to the top of the Tower then begin your descent down the long ladder to the Umbral platforms you need to pull across. Jump across to the platform on the far right then go up the ramp and smash the wooden barricade where you will find a Stigma you can activate as long as you are in Umbral. This will give you the Perception Wisp which you can then take to Dunmire.
Speak To Dunmire
Location: Sunless Skein, Vestige of Antuli.
Head down into the Mines from the Vestige of Antuli then take a left before you go through the portcullis you will have opened the first time you were here and follow the path through to where you drop down into the water (if you’re in Axiom). You will then find Dunmire at the bottom of the stairs looking at the Stigma which is falling (in Umbral). Exhaust all of his dialogue then return to Skyrest Bridge.
Purchase The Umbral Scouring Clump
Location: Skyrest Bridge, Vestige of Ethryg.
Go into Umbral when you’re back in Skyrest Bridge then go up the stairs to your right when your back is to the Vestige of Ethryg and purchase the Umbral Scouring Clump for 50 Umbral Scourings. You can collect Umbral Scourings by activating Stigma’s in Umbral. If you need help finding any Stigma then refer to the Lingering Moments trophy guide.
Collect Dunmire's Ring And Rosary
Location: Revelation Depths, Vestige of Lost Berescu.
Head back down to the arena where you defeated the Unbroken Promise then go up the stairs at the back of the arena and collect the Dunmire’s Ring and Exacter Dunmire’s Rosary.
Travel To Mother's Lull
Location: Revelation Depths, Vestige of Lost Berescu.
Once you have the Dunmire’s Ring and Rosary you can then use the Umbral Scouring Clump on the well which is on top of the platform you will be standing on. This will take you to Mother’s Lull.
Speak To Dunmire Again
Location: Mother’s Lull, Vestige of Lost Berescu.
Now that you’re in Mother’s Lull you will find Exacter Dunmire standing next to the Abyss, speak to him exhausting all dialogue options.
Conclude Dunmire's Quest
Location: Sunless Skein, Vestige of Antuli.
Leave Mother’s Lull then travel back to the Vestige of Antuli, go back through the same passage you went through to get the Umbral Tome where you can pick up Dunmire’s gear as well as conclude Exacter Dunmire’s questline.

Now that you have concluded Exacter Dunmire’s questline once you have collected the items in the Mines you will have acquired the following items:
- Exacter Scripture.
- Exacter Dunmire’s Cane.
- Exacter Hat.
