The Emissary is at the back of one of the toughest biomes in the game, the Infested Abyss which will see you need to go through hell taking down 3 Root Nexus’ who will summon in Armies of Specials and enemies from both Yaesha and Root Earth so bring your best gear, Relics and Archetypes to survive for longer. I recommend going for both The Burden Hardest to Bear as this will get you the Profane Heart Relic from the Emissary, then, re roll and go back down into the Infested Abyss, fight your way through the enemies again which should be easier the second timing having knowledge of what it is you’re up against this time refusing to submit to the Emissary.
Upon refusing he will initiate a fight against you with a very strange mechanic, you can only hurt the Emissary as it is moving which it won’t do very often so the difficulty of the fight will be determined by the skills he spawns with. If you have Shocker, Cloner, Minions, Rat Swarm or anything else with active abilities designed to hurt you it will be a potentially tough, long fight. Every so often the Emissary will move glitching forward trying to slash at you.
It’s at this moment you need to unload everything you have on him until he stops moving again then go back to either healing if he got you or reloading dealing with any hostiles who appear.
Rinse and repeat these tactics until you manage to bring the Emissary down. If you followed this guide word for word you won’t have to go back into the Infested Abyss which is a bonus.
