The First Berserker Khazan Directory.
Here is the, The First Berserker Khazan boss hub which will list off the bosses you can fight throughout the game both mandatory and optional of which there are 16 and 22 respectively. Bosses pose the main challenge in The First Berserker Khazan and speaking as a veteran of the soulslike genre, they are tough so you may well need to spend a good amount of time levelling up, farming better gear and or improving the gear you have, re-speccing Skill points, trying new weapons, checking armour sets and working with different combinations of gear.
The First Berserker Khazan Bosses
It’s not much use to have 5 pieces of one set of armour equipped if you only need the first one or two benefits so mix things up, I usually go for a 2/3 butcher/Soul Soul Eater armour so I can increase my dual wield damage as well as penetrate through the guard of any enemy who wields a shield by an additional 90%.

Yetuga
Location: Charnak Mountain Range, Mount Heinmach, Banished Hero.
Yetuga will be the first boss you fight in the game and one who can be a challenge. Spend some time farming the enemies and collecting Lacrima which you can use at the Blade Nexus to level up until you are able to bring this Yeti down.
Blade Phantom
Location: Charnak Mountain Range, Stormpass, Trials of the Frozen Mountain.
The Blade Phantom can be a tough opponent as it will attack you with every kind of weapon you can find in the game. This will be a skill test for your brink guard where you block at the last second before an attack will hit you and it can be chained to follow along the combos the boss will throw at you.
Keshta The Unyielding
Location: Charnak Moutain Range, Stormpass, Stormpass’ Phantom of Combat.
Keshta the Unyielding can be fought in the side mission, Stormapss’ Phantom of Combat and is essentially a beefed up version of the Blade Phantom and one you might want to come back and take down later in the game once you have become stronger to deal with the challenge.
Viper
Location: Charnak Mountain Range, Embars Ruins, Forgotten Temple.
Viper is a 2 phase boss who will be fought at the end of the Forgotten Temple main mission in the Embars Ruins district of the Charnak Mountain Range and is the first proper brick wall of the game. Once you take it down for the first time, Viper will then evolve and you need to do the whole fight over again so conserve your resources as much as you can in the first phase phase to make the second more manageable.
Viper first phase.
Viper second phase.
Volbaino
Location: Charnak Mountain Range, Phraugh Village, First Act of Revenge.
Volbaino is an incredibly dangerous fire based boss who can be found at the end of the First Act of Revenge main mission in the Phraugh Village district and one who will test your patience. Dodge the nail then block the hammer to increase your chances of survival as well as using the ladder to change levels when this enraged Moose ignites the entire floor.
Specter Of Bhangau
Location: Charnak Mountain Range, Phraugh Village, Night of Tragedy.
The Specter of Bhangau is a reimagining of the Volbaino boss who utilises teleportation and wide flame AOE attacks as well as slamming down on you with the hammer and nail combinations. Remember to use the ladder if you need to create more space, however, unlike with Volbaino where you can get some cheeky hits in as he climbs up, the Specter just teleports to your position so stay vigilante.
Aratra
Location: Charnak Mountain Range, Skoffa Cave, Strange Stench.
Aratra is a giant Spider who can be a pain to deal with so ensure you trigger both explosions in the mine (1 near the start of the biome and 1 by climbing the ladder after the Plague enemies are down) which then blocks both escape routes in the boss arena. Stay away from the Poison and try to attack from the back and sides to avoid the mandible swipes and bite attacks.
Bearius
Location: Charnak Mountain Range, Spider’ Tomb, Blacksmith’s Heirloom.
Bearius is an optional boss who can be fought in the Blacksmith’s Heirloom side mission in the Spider’s Tomb district which can be started once you have spoken to the Blacksmith having rescued him after completing the main Strange Stench mission and is essentially a more powerful version on the Bear you will have fought previously in the game.
Rangkus
Location: Pell Los Plateau, Palemion Citadel, Traitor Revealed.
Rangkus is a very powerful boss who you will fight at the end of the Traitor Revealed main mission and can be a serious brick wall given his extremely hard hitting flame based attacks that will burn straight through your guard so having Fire Resistance Elixirs equipped is all but essential to reduce the damage then it’s a case of brink guard the projectiles, avoid the swiping combos which end with a delayed attack and doing your best to keep distance from the fire AOE and projectiles then getting in there with some punishment of your own before backing off until Rangkus has been brought down.
Maluca
Location: Pell Los Plateau, Nadin Quarry, Veiled Knives.
Maluca is the first main Chaos boss you will fight and as such he can wreck you if you allow the Chaos meter to build up which then reduces your health bar over time to the point he can one shot you and given the power, speed and variation of his combos he can easily send you back to the Blade Nexus at full health so Chaos Resistance Elixirs will help a great deal as will taking the time to learn when to dodge and when to brink guard which I found easier to do by following the rule of dodging the Katana and brink guarding the dual swords as best as you can until you manage to take the win.
Xaldin
Location: Pell Los Plateau, Nadin Quarry, Human Xilence.
Xaldin will fight similar to Viper except this version will hit harder and have a greater defence pool but given how much stronger you will be at this point you shouldn’t notice that much of a difficulty spike as long as you block the thrown Spear on the way forward and back then avoid the slashes, swipes an dodge the grab attack which is fairly well telegraphed. Fire seems to work work well in this fight so utilise the element if you’re stuggling.
Mutated Xilence
Location: Pell Los Plateau, Nadin Quarry, Final Conquest.
Mutated Xilence can be found at the end of the Final Conquest side mission in the Nadin Quarry district and is a strange fight as the mutation Xilence has gone through will cause him to take severe damage after a few attacks but don’t allow yourself to become complacent as this fight is essentially the second phase of the Viper fight so you can still get smacked around but all in this is one of the simpler fights given the heavy damage the boss inflicts on itself.
Elamein
Location: Pell Los Plateau, El Ravaca Village, Devoured Village.
Elamein has been turned to the side of Chaos and is an extremely challenging boss who is made a lot simpler if you equip at least 2 pieces of the Deep Shadow armour set which then gives you a 90% guard penetration boost essentially negating the shield then it’s a case of avoiding the combos, electrical AOE attacks, discharge and melee attacks as well as the unrelenting brutality she brings to the fight, Overcome the challenge and bring her down.
Bringkus
Location: Pell Los Plateau, Palemion Citadel, Pavel’s Final Words.
Bringkus is an optional boss who can be found at the end of the Pavel’s Final Words side mission in the Palemion Citadel and is a more powerful version of Rangkus who you will have fought in the same arena. Avoid the very hard hitting, ground shattering shockwaves and wide hitting flame attacks which will be a lot more manageable if you try and stay behind the boss, brink guarding the melee and the non-flame projectiles then try to dodge the flame projectiles as you will still take a decent amount of damage upon guarding.
Shactuka
Location: Pell Los Plateau, Linon Mine, Inconceivable Truth.
Shactuka is a boss who you will face at the end of the Inconceivable Truth main mission in the Linon Mine and is a sporadic, ferocious opponent who uses plenty of delayed attacks as well as arena crossing lunge attacks most of which should be dodged or brink guarded and the grab attack which is hard to avoid can be dodged by moving back several times but you’ll need to be quick. Fire works incredibly well against Shactuka so use it to your advantage which will help you bring this Beast down.
Completed Yerid
Location: Pell Los Plateau, El Ravaca Village, Why Have You Forsaken Us?.
The Completed Yerid is an optional boss who you can fight at the end of the very tough, Why Have You Forsaken Us? side mission in the El Ravaca Village district and is a harder hitting version of Shactuka who is still weak to fire but as a counter you will be hit by a lot more Plague attacks which can make things tougher to recover from.
Yeturak
Location: Pell Los Plateau, Linon Mine, Escaping Linon Mine.
Yeturak is an optional boss who can be found at the end of the Escaping Linon Mine side mission in the Linon Mine district and is very powerful as Yeti’s go. It has similar moves to the Yetuga boss you will have fought in the first mission in the game except this one can take some severe punishment before it falls with fire being a key weakness.
Sergei
Location: Pell Los Plateau, Linon Mine, Last Command.
Sergei is an optional boss who can be found at the end of the Last Command side mission in the Linon Mine and before you can fight him you firstly need to defeat a Halberd wielding Knight and a powerful Fire Mage. With them both down, Sergei will then appear from the back room with Spear and Shield in hand so equipping any items from the Deep Shadow set will help to break through the shield as will getting behind Sergei where he is open to severe punishment.
Trokka
Location: Heart of Pell Los, Lake City Aldevir, Witch’s Castle.
Trokka is the first main boss you will fight in the Heart of Pell Los region and is incredibly challenging especially if you are using a Greatsword build as she is so fast and agile that hitting her can be a problem, use the long range of the Spear or the speed and power of the Dual-Wield then once she starts flying save your Stamina then rapidly dodge out of the way of the rapid orbs then get ready to dodge the culmination of orbs which leads straight into a counter-attack opportunity which if missed can lead into a run ending combo. Stay on the move constantly in this fight and dodge rather than block for whenever possible.
Failed Creation
Location: Heart of Pell Los, Lake City Aldevir, Lacrima.
The Failed Creation is an optional boss who you can fight at the end of the Lacrima side mission in the Lake City Aldevir district and is a tough opponent who utilises flame attacks as well as being fought in a Plague pool but the real challenge comes from the Plague enemies who spawn throughout the fight as getting caught by a few attacks in quick succession whilst also trying to deal with the boss if you don’t have any decent AOE attacks available can easily send you back to the Blade Nexus. Keep your distance in this one, run back and forth dealing with the mobs then punish the boss when you have an opening.
Gwydo
Location: Heart of Pell Los, Lake City Aldevir, Unrequited Love.
Gwydo is an optional boss you can find at the end of the Unrequited Love side mission in the Lake City Aldevir district and he is a surprisingly very powerful boss who utilises Maluca’s move sets with incredible efficacy. Combine that with the fact Gwydo has an incredibly high HP and defence and this is a fight that will take a lot longer than expected before you come away with the win.
Bellerian
Location: Heart of Pell Los, Rephalan Mountains, Hermit Mountains.
Bellerian is a mandatory boss who you need to defeat at the end of the Hermit Mountains main mission in the Rephalan Mountains district and she can be a nightmare to take or not to bad all depending on which enemies she summons in to take you on, if she summons Dogs or Knights then you will have an easier time of it, if she summons the Reaper then you may well be in trouble unless you are proficient at brink guarding as a Reaper can only be really damaged once its Stamina is depleted. Use your heavy attacks to smash through her shield whilst avoiding as many attacks as you can then go Phantom Form to inflict some heavy damage leaving you hopefully able to take her down.
Reaper
Location: Heart of Pell Los, Rephalan Mountains, Atlante the Precise.
Reaper is an optional boss who can be found at the end of the Atlante the Precise side mission in the Rephalan Mountains and it is a very challenging fight unless you are highly proficient at brink guarding which then makes the fight simpler, you need to brink guard the majority of the seemingly never ending slap attacks in a bid to whittle the Reaper’s Stamina down then once it’s staggered you can inflict some heavy damage so focus on your best attacks then get a Brutal in just before the red circle dissipates to inflict maximum damage.
Skalpel
Location: Heart of Pell Los, Vaisar Gate, Corruptor’s Fortress.
Skalpel is a mandatory story boss who you will fight at the end of the Corruptor’s Fortress main mission in the Vaisar Gate district and he is up there as one of the cheekiest bosses I have ever fought but we’ll get to that. Attack wise he has a wide and varied arsenal he can use to great effect including sword attacks and slams with the coffin, he will get on top of the coffin and perform a very nasty, run ending combo if you don’t knock him off in time by using Skills and heavy attacks and ensure you avoid the coffin grab which can half health you depending on your build. Once you have put Skalpel down, you will get a mission complete screen, breathe a sigh of relief, maybe put the controller down or get a drink. Don’t do that though as after the mission complete screen, Skalpel will then initiate phase 2 and come back at you harder than he did before, as a consequence of this his health will tick down over time but considering how tough the first phase is you may well be low on resources so do your best then the next time at least you’ll know what to expect.
Skalpel first phase.
Skalpel second phase.
Corrupted Creation & Mutated Rosha
Location: Heart of Pell Los, Vaisar Gate, Crimson Trace.
The Corrupted Creation and Mutated Rosha bosses can be found at the end of the Crimson Trace side mission in the Vaisar Gate district who will come at you one after the other starting with the weaker Creation who you should try to put down as fast as possible whilst conserving your resources as once the first Abomination has been dealt with, the second will spawn straight in and this one is around x5 tougher than the first one. It will hit a lot harder, have a much greater defence and be more aggressive with the use of the Plague status as well you could find yourself in trouble here. Avoid the multi hit combo, try to avoid the webbing and use fire to deal heavy damage against them both if you’re struggling to come away with the win.
Remnant Of Elamein
Location: Heart of Pell Los, Vaisar Gate, Transcendental Sword.
The Remnant of Elamein boss is an optional one who you can fight at the end of the Transcendental Sword side mission in the Vaisar Gate district and she is a much tougher version of the Elamein boss you will have fought earlier in the game so remember to have at least 2 pieces of Deep Shadow armour equipped to give you that 90% guard penetration as her shield is back and stronger than ever. Lightning Resistance Elixirs are a good call to have equipped as is any fire or earth offensive items to help deal increased damage.
Princess Ilyana
Location: Heart of Pell Los, Rovelion Imperial Theater, Strange Melody.
Princess Ilyana is a story boss who you will fight at the end of the Strange Melody main mission in the Rovelion Imperial Theater district and she is incredibly fast and hard hitting with some arena filling AOE Chaos attacks which will initially fill the arena then discharge Chaos explosions along the paths created and avoiding them can be tricky so ensure you have Chaos Resistance Elixirs equipped to help negate the Chaos status. The saving grace to this fight is the Princess does have a relatively small health pool compared to some other bosses so whittling her down is more a case of being able to out speed her rather than out power her as every hit will deal fairly decent damage for a boss fight.
The Ninety-Ninth Owl
Location: Heart of Pell Los, Rovelion Imperial Theater, Centurial Order.
The Nonety-Ninth Owl boss can be found at the back of the Centurial Order side mission and he can be a pain to deal with as he brings low health Mobs along which for the most part will hit you once then die, trouble is if you get hit a few times by the mobs whilst dealing with the boss then get a hard slam from the boss it can put you in a lot of trouble as this guy hits hard so bring some either ranged attacks from the Spear or AOE attacks from the Greatsword to have an easier time of things.
Tanya
Location: Heart of Pell Los, Rovelion Imperial Theater, Remnants of Chaos.
Tanya is an optional boss who you can fight at the end of the Remnants of Chaos side mission int he Rovelion Imperial Theater district and she can be a nightmare to fight as every time she hits you with the Snakes on her back she will then heal for the damage dealt so avoiding or brink guarding the Snakes is imperative if you want to make this fight not go on for a long time. Avoid the Chaos blasts and the spinning swooping strike then punish as she recovers after performing a combo before backing away and staying out of reach of those healing Snakes.
Hismar
Location: Vitalon Capital of the Empire, Capital City Vitalon, Fall of the Empire.
Hismar is a mandatory boss who will fight at the end of the Fall of the Empire main mission in the Capital City Vitalon district and can be a very frustrating boss to take on given its stature and the fact most of your attacks won’t be able to reach its head unless he has attacked you and got his horns stuck in the ground which are essentially the only weak point on the Dragon as they can be smashed off. The Brutal attack is performed on the top of his head when staggered, however, you have such a small window to get there that you may well miss the timing just by being trapped behind a paw or be at the other end of the body. Avoid the Chaos and Lightning blasts the during the second half of the fight do your best to avoid the Chaos breath whilst focusing as many of your attacks on either his weaker head or the paws if you can’t reach that chin.
Cursed Boris
Location: Vitalon Capital of the Empire, Capital City Vitalon, Disobedience.
Cursed Boris is an optional boss who you can fight at the end of the Disobedience side mission in the Capital City Vitalon district and can be a powerful adversary if you get complacent so stay on your toes and don’t allow your Stamina to dip below half as you will need to either brink guard or dodge some powerful slam attacks which can also inflict Chaos.
Netherworld Jocko, Netherworld Tigron, Netherworld Aratra
Location: Vitalon Capital of the Empire, Capital City Vitalon, Charon’s Chains.
Charon’s Chains is a side mission you can access in the Capital City Vitalon district and has 1 Blade Nexus leading through to 3 bosses who you will fight back to back, the Netherworld Jocko is a Yeti who shouldn’t cause you that many issues. The Netherworld Tigron is a large horned Bear who can bight, swipe, slam and thrust you around the arena with ease. The Netherworld Aratra is a large Spider who inflicts Venom and can overpower you fairly easily with hard hitting slams and swipes as well as bites and ground shaking jumping attacks. Bring them all down.
Netherworld Jocko.
Netherworld Tigron.
Netherworld Aratra.
Gilsan
Location: Vitalon Capital of the Empire, Capital City Vitalon, Birth of Evil.
Gilsan is an optional boss who is at the end of the Birth of Evil side mission in the Capital City Vitalon district and providing you take out the 2 Archers as a priority then focus on Gilsan avoiding his 2 blade strikes then treat him like an Elite enemy and give him the beating he deserves for killing your friend.
Reese
Location: Vitalon Capital of the Empire, Great Temple, Bloodied Sanctuary.
Reese is a boss who you will need to fight at the end of the Bloodied Sanctuary main mission in the Great Temple district and she is a spike in difficulty through a 2 phase fight with hard hitting Chaos attacks and some crippling melee attacks both lightning and chaos based. Use the lightning wall to break line of sight for the Chaos projectiles which absorb them then get back round and inflict some damage of your own whilst always being prepared to either brink guard or dodge out of the way of the next series of attacks. Conserve your resources in the first phase as best as you can to help increase your chances of survival the impending beating you’ll receive.
Reese first phase.
Reese second phase.
Specter of Pleuvious
Location: Vitalon Capital of the Empire, Great Temple, The Vow.
The Specter of Pleuvious is an optional boss you can find at the end of the Vow side mission in the Great Temple district and can only be accessed once you have 3 pieces of the Temple Key. The Specter will attack you in similar ways to how the regular Specters you will have fought throughout the game trying to inflict hallucination and attacking multiple times with both regular and ethereal attacks which combo into harder attacks some of which can be countered.
Ozma
Location: Vitalon Capital of the Empire, Imperial Palace, Master of Chaos.
Ozma is the final boss in the game and can be found at the end of the Master of Chaos mission in the Imperial Palace district and this is one of if not the toughest fight in the game as I’m sure you would expect being the final boss and it’s also a 3 phase fight with a heavy emphasis on inflicting Chaos status on you which drains your health bar. Don’t be surprised if you die multiple times before taking the win, it will take you multiple attempts to learn the many varied throughout the first 2 phases then the third phase will test your patience over and over until you manage to come away with the win.
Ozma first phase.
Ozma second phase.
Ozma third phase.
That’s all of the, The First Berserker Khazan bosses you can find throughout the game which one(s) did you struggle the most with?.
