Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown is possibly the grindiest fighting game out there with you needing to complete 1850 matches, win lose or draw to not earn a platinum. That said you can choose your favourite game and jump into a true classic arcade beat-em-up.

You’re ten years too early!
Play 1200 matches. Easy for a martial arts maniac like me… I want to fight someone stronger!

I wouldn’t even worry about this one as it will come naturally as you work towards the other trophies in the game as you need to play 600 ranked matches, 200 room matches putting you over halfway already. You will then need to play another 1050 matches whilst working towards I am the ultimate!, My own strength frightens me and Hya hya hya! giving you 1,850 matches to play.

You are nowhere near ready to face the master!
Play 600 Ranked Matches. My Koen-Ken does not waver. You won’t make a fuss over this, will you?

Play 200 Room Matches. Hmph… Sarah is about the only person who can stop me.

Defeat Dural and clear Arcade Mode. To buy a boat or a fish detector. Decisions, decisions…

Choose Arcade from the main menu then use the following settings to have the easiest time of it Difficulty> Very Easy, Round Count> 1, Time Limit> 60 Sec, Health Bar (Player)> 260, Health Bar (CPU)> 200. Choose whichever character you’re comfortable with, Kage Maru is a good choice for beginners as you can mash Triangle to do a decent 3 hit combo. Defeat every opponent finishing with Dural to unlock your Trophy.

Send a stamp. The heart of Pro-Wrestling is to entertain others, so you’re now a pro wrestler too!

A nice simple way to send a stamp is to go main menu> Room Match> Create Room> Choose any settings you like and choose Create Room at the bottom of the screen. Pull up the Stamp menu then press any of the 4 action buttons to send a Stamp unlocking your Trophy in the process.

Practice in TRAINING. What’s important for a sumo is daily training… Head-to-head training that is!

Go main menu> Training> Tutorial> Dashing. Choose a character then when then training loads, your Trophy will unlock.

Play 300 Ranked Matches. Did you think I was just some spoiled rich-boy? You shouldn’t take me lightly.

I am the ultimate!
Play 300 Ranked Matches each using two characters. I’ve surpassed everyone’s imagination… Now to master all the characters!

You need to complete 600 matches in total for this one, 300 as a Type A character and an additional 300 as Type B. To do so, choose main menu> Ranked Match> Rank> Similar Rank, Connection Quality> Any, Disconnect Rate> Any then Player Menu. In the Player Menu choose Active Character Settings, select a character then choose Type A, go off and complete 300 Ranked Matches which can be win, lose or draw. Once done, go back to the Active Character Settings this time choosing a character (can be the same one) this time ensuring you choose Type B where you will need to complete an additional 300 Ranked Matches. You will unlock the following trophies along the way: I’ll show you… the results of my training!, I won’t lose! and You are nowhere near ready to face the master!.

My own strength frightens me!
Play 200 Room Matches each using two characters. This is the strength I’ve yearned for! Feel the weight of this four-thousand-year-old Kung-Fu.

To use 2 characters, you need to firstly go main menu> Room Match> Player Menu> Active Character Settings. Choose any character and select type A then go and complete 200 matches. Once done, go back to Active Character Settings and choose a character for Type B where you need to complete another 200 matches. The matches can be completed in either Room Search or Create a Room using the following settings to make things as quick as possible.

Room Create> Match Type> Normal Match, Round Count> Win 1 Round, Time Limit> 30, No. of Players> 2. You can set a passcode if you have a boosting partner or leave it blank if not and grind out the matches. Win, lose or draw, as long as you complete 200 matches with a character set to Type A and another 200 using a character as Type B, your Trophy will unlock. You will unlock the following trophies as you work towards this one Here I come!, Hmm, maybe I should hold back next time and There’s no way anyone can stop me.

Hya hya hya!
Play either 50 Tournament Matches or 50 League Matches in Room Match. Come at me with whatever fighting style you’ve got! I’ll take you on with my Kung-Fu!

Go main menu> Room Match> Room Create> Match Type> League Match, Round Count> Win 1 Round. Either choose a passcode if you have a boosting partner or leave it blank if you don’t then go and win, lose or draw 50 matches to unlock your Trophy.
