Win 100 Stages

The game does not track your victories so complete career mode first then mop up any remaining trophies you have left, by this time you should have more than likely won 100 stages. If you still haven’t unlocked this one then do a quick play event around the Great Orme stage from the Wales Rally which is the quickest stage in the game until your Hot Shot Trophy unlocks.

WRC 8 Hard worker trophy
PlayStation Silver Trophy

Hard worker
Complete a season objective

Hard Worker can only be done in career mode and you need to be driving a WRC Championship car in order to get a season objective. A season objective is to reach a set place in each rally over the course of the calendar, as there are 14 Rallies on the calendar you have a total of 14 chances in one season to get this trophy. The season objective is a random finishing position for each time you start a new season. My objective was a top 3 finish in a rally but I have seen top 5 as an easier objective and winning rallies as a harder objective. Once you have secured a podium at all 14 rallies your Trophy will unlock.

WRC 8 Perfectionist trophy
PlayStation Silver Trophy

Perfectionist
Complete 15 objectives of any type during the same season

This is best done from the start of your WRC Career so it gives you enough time to complete the number of objectives before the season ends. From the career menu choose objectives and the game will set you short-term (1-2 weeks) or medium-term (4-6 weeks) objectives. Your aim is to complete as many of these as possible in one season, some will be easy to complete like earn 15k over 4 weeks but others can be a pain like don’t use hard tyres in the next rally. What makes this trophy so hard is it can take several weeks to beat some objectives so you might run out of time to complete 15 before the season ends.

Due to that, this is very luck based on you getting easier objectives to complete, objectives can be completed during rallies or during events, so I recommend spending a season on these objectives and nothing else then it makes your chances higher of getting these done. Once you have completed 15 in a single season, your Trophy will unlock.

WRC 8 Race master trophy
PlayStation Gold Trophy

Race master
Win a Stage in Authentic difficulty

Here we have a quick and easy workaround solution to the heavily buggy and glitched trophy race master in WRC 8. Race Master has been bugged pretty much since the launch of the game and subsequent patches since launch still have not fully fixed the issue. Thankfully the trophy can be obtained through a working solution and in this guide, I will explain and talk you through the 4 steps needed to get this done.

  • Step 1:
From the main menu press R1 until you reach the settings tab and go into gameplay settings and adjust the difficulty and make sure it is set to authentic.
  • Step 2:
Win an online multiplayer race, this can be done in a public or private lobby and it does not matter how many attempts it takes just as long as you secure a win.
  • Step 3:
Return back to the main menu again press R1 until you reach the settings tab and then enter the gameplay settings menu and reduce the difficulty back to easy.
  • Step 4:
Win a quick play race so from the main menu choose the solo tab and select quick play.
  • Final Step:
Select any rally, any stage and any car you wish and then start the quick play event.

Keep trying until you win the quick play event, making sure you restart from the results screen. When you have taken the win, your Trophy will unlock.

WRC 8 WRC 2 driver trophy
PlayStation Silver Trophy

WRC 2 driver
Join the WRC 2 Championship

During your career in between each of the rallies on the calendar, you can participate in additional events like training, historic races and for this trophy manufacturer tryouts. In a manufacturer tryout, you get to drive a car around a stage with the aim of impressing that manufacturer, normally it’s simply driving a set distance within a time limit so your first aim is to succeed in this challenge. Now resume your career and every time you get to choose another one of the optional events, make sure you look out for another manufacturer event and hope it’s a rare event as the rare event becomes a manufacturer challenge.

You can use your Research & Development points to purchase an ability to give you a better chance of receiving more rare events. With this rare event unlocked go on and win it, a victory will then issue you with a contract to race for that manufacturer in the WRC 2 vehicle class and unlock your WRC 2 driver trophy once the game loads up your career menu again. Should you fail to get the manufacturer challenge you can still win the Junior WRC Championship to be issued with a drive for a WRC 2 team and unlock your Trophy that way as well.

WRC 8 WRC Champion trophy
PlayStation Gold Trophy

WRC Champion
Become WRC World Champion

Starting your career mode off you accept a contract with a Junior WRC Team, your aim is to perform well in rallies and manufacturer tryouts to get the attention of a WRC 2 team. They will offer you a contract, by repeating the same method eventually you will get an offer from a WRC team. Now you need to perform consistently over the 14 rallies that make up each calendar year, you won’t need to win every rally but getting a podium will increase your points total nicely. Other things to take note of is the final stage in each rally called the power stage, offers points for setting the fastest time in this stage which will all help. Once the season has ended and you have become the WRC Champion, your Trophy will unlock.

WRC 8 features a total of 14 rallies and they are:

  1. Monte Carlo.
  2. Sweden.
  3. Mexico.
  4. Argentina.
  5. Chile.
  6. Portugal.
  7. Sardinia.
  8. Finland.
  9. Germany.
  10. Turkey.
  11. Spain.
  12. Wales.
  13. Australia.
  14. Corsica.

These can be done driving any of the car classes (Junior WRC, WRC2, WRC 2 Pro and WRC) but only the WRC class races all 14 rallies in one season. Stage knowledge helps to set consistent times but should you make a mistake you can restart any stage you wish. Once you have secured a podium your Trophy will unlock.

WRC 8 Rising star trophy

Rising star
Reach level 40

For each and every event you take part in during career mode will earn you experience, the game has a level cap of 50 but for this trophy you only need to reach level 40. Level 40 takes around 48,000 experience, to reach and this is not very hard to do as you can earn over 2000 experience for each rally win so you will get this while working on your way towards the WRC Champion trophy. As soon as you hit level 40, your Trophy will unlock.

WRC 8 Show-off trophy

Use 15 perks

Winning rallies in career mode can give you a perk like 10% bonus experience for the next rally, when back in the career menu chose the crew sub-menu and on the left side of the screen you can use a perk. You can also spend skill points to increase chances of getting a perk, all you need to do is use a total of 15 perks, what the perk does is irrelevant, once you have used your 15th perk your Trophy will unlock.

WRC 8 Collector trophy
PlayStation Gold Trophy

Collector
Have 4 legendary cards in an active crew

This is a trophy that can only be unlocked in career mode. In your WRC 8 career you have a crew of 6 members working on your behalf for all aspects of your career and those 6 crew members are:

  1. The Mechanic.
  2. Your Agent.
  3. Car Engineer.
  4. Meteorologist.
  5. Physical Therapist.
  6. Financial Director.

All crew members fit into 5 categories for how skilled they are, for this trophy you need 4 legendary crew members which are indicated by a little gold triangle in the bottom right-hand side of the crew members details. To get these 4 legendary crew you can either find them for winning rallies or special events or more than likely recruit them. To recruit new crew membership you need to visit the crew sub-menu after finishing each and every event to do this from the career menu select the crew sub-menu and then select recruitment.

New recruits don’t appear after every event, it took me several seasons to find all 4 of my legendaries. I made sure I had space in my crew reserve to cover additional recruits. Most importantly of all, it’s random as to how many recruits you find and how often they appear make sure you have the legendary skill tree ability as that helped me find those very rare crew members. Once you have collected your 4 legendary crew members all you need to do is make them active at which point your Trophy to unlock.

WRC 8 Indecisive trophy
PlayStation Silver Trophy

Indecisive
Change team 5 times

This trophy can only be unlocked in career mode and as you progress through your career you can change team several ways which are:

  • At the end of the current season.
  • By increasing manufacturer reputation.
  • By been sacked by a previous team.

It does not matter how you change teams or whom you pick as all you need to do is change teams a total of 5 times to unlock this trophy. You will one way or another be presented with contract options and for me, my 5th team change It was by successfully increasing my reputation with Ford via a manufacturer challenge. This might but I must reiterate not be the case for you all you need to do is remember that any team change at any point of time in the game counts. Once you have accepted the contract for your 5th team change your Trophy will unlock.

WRC 8 Force of nature trophy
PlayStation Silver Trophy

Force of nature
Win 15 Stages with dynamic weather in Quick Play mode

From the main menu press R1 until you reach the solo tab then select quick play. From the quick play menu select any rally you wish then press Square to bring up the weather sub menu. Make sure dynamic weather is set to on and confirm your selection. Now you’re free to select any stage, car class and car you wish before accepting all these options and loading up the stage. As the description states you need to win 15 of these stages so go on to win the stage and then repeat the process until you are successful with your 15th stage win at which point your Trophy will unlock.

WRC 8 Competitor trophy
PlayStation Silver Trophy

Competitor
Take part in 50 events in the calendar

Competitor is a trophy that like most in WRC 8 can only be unlocked in career mode. As you progress through career mode you get the opportunity to take part in side events, these include extreme driving conditions, historic races & manufacturer tryouts just to name a few. To unlock Competitor you need to take part in a total of 50 of these events. Each one of these events including the standard rallies counts towards the 50 total and as this is a cumulative total it can be done over the course of several seasons. As you need to race several seasons to get all the other trophies in WRC 8 this trophy will unlock through natural progression. Also, the outcome of the event does not matter as this is simply a complete trophy rather than a win so once you start your 50th event your Trophy will then unlock.

WRC 8 Jackpot ! trophy
PlayStation Bronze Trophy

Jackpot !
Win a rare event

This is another trophy that can only be done in career mode. From the career menu choose calendar, part of your career is the ability to take part in different events in between the main rallies. These events include manufacturer tryouts, training, extreme conditions and historic races. Every so often one of these events will have 5 stars and that’s very important as that informs you that the upcoming event is rare so now is your opportunity to get Jackpot done. Select this rare event then return back to the career menu then proceed to the next event. Your rare event will now load, should you fail to win simply continue with your career until another rare event appears. Eventually, you will get a victory in a rare event where your Trophy will unlock.

WRC 8 Nostalgic trophy
PlayStation Bronze Trophy

Nostalgic
Win a Historic Race event

This trophy can only be done in career mode, you can take part in a wide range of events on the calendar in between rallies which include training sessions, manufacturer tryouts, extreme weather conditions and historic races which is the one required to get this trophy done. From the career menu open up your calendar then under an event selection tab you will be given 3 choices make sure it says historic race, if it does not appear, keep checking back after each event you participate in until Historic Race appears in the list and then select it.

Now return back to the career menu and proceed to the next event, your historic race will now load up which is a random stage using one of the 4 historic cars in the game, they are the Lancia Fulvia, Lancia Stratos, VW Polo and the Proton Iriz. Your aim is very simple and that is to win the event, as this is a random event using a random car it might take a couple of historic races to get a feel for how these  cars perform but thankfully the game gives you plenty of chances to take part in historic races. For me, this was towards the end of my Junior WRC career and it was my 3rd historic race so don’t fret if you don’t succeed first time as other opportunities will arise throughout your career. When you are successful in winning the event your Trophy will unlock.

WRC 8 Public threat trophy
PlayStation Bronze Trophy

Public threat
Get a DNF state in any mode

To unlock the Public Threat trophy you need to get a DNF which stands for did not finish so this means you can crash and smash your car until it can’t go any further in a stage. You have complete freedom to do this in any game mode and use any car and stage, for me I was driving in Australia which has plenty of trees and fences that litter the side of the track. Drive your car into as many of these obstacles as you can and monitor your car damage using the damage wheel located in the bottom left of the screen. The more damage you cause the worse the car will perform until eventually it can’t take any more and an on-screen message will say you have totalled the car and at this point, your Trophy will unlock.

WRC 8 Certified driver trophy
PlayStation Bronze Trophy

Certified driver
Win a rally with a repair time penalty

To unlock Certified Driver I suggest you do this in a career rally as most of the trophies in WRC 8 are based in career mode. A service area allows you to perform a maximum of 45 minutes work on your car penalty-free however if you exceed these 45 mins you will incur a time penalty of a minimum 1 minute added time. So you need to win a rally by over 1 minute to negate this additional 1 minute penalty time. That means you need to race very fast but also incur some car damage so when you reach the service area you can then perform and receive your service area penalty. This can be done at any rally in the game using any car that you’re currently driving.

For me, I managed to get this trophy even though I only finished 3rd in the rally so my feelings are that the WRC 8 trophy unlock conditions have not been programmed very well as quite a few of them are not working as they should. So if you’re lucky like me you could get this for reaching the podium but if you want to be doubly sure simply make sure you win a rally by over 1 minute to unlock your Certified driver Trophy.

WRC 8 Nomad trophy
PlayStation Silver Trophy

Nomad
Drive over 2,000km in any mode

Complete career mode first then check your driver card for distance driven over all surfaces. I’d be amazed if you get every other trophy done before unlocking this one given the amount of distance you need to cover throughout career and in quick play. However, if you need more KM covered, complete the Great Orme stage from the Wales rally until you reach the 2000km target where your Trophy will unlock.

WRC 8 Splasher trophy
PlayStation Bronze Trophy

Splasher
Go through 200 water puddles

Splasher can be done in any game mode and is a cumulative trophy so chances are you might get this during natural career mode progression. The quickest and easiest way to get this trophy is to drive stages on any of the tarmac rallies in the game which are Corsica, Germany and Spain ensuring wet weather is enabled. I say use tarmac rallies because in wet weather these rallies have loads of standing puddles for you to drive through and every standing water puddle in the stage no matter how big or small will count towards the total. So now it’s just a simple matter of driving until you have gone through 200 puddles at which point, your Trophy will unlock.

WRC 8 Stuntman trophy
PlayStation Bronze Trophy

Stuntman
Roll a car over in any mode

Stuntman can be unlocked in any game mode and at near enough, any time. For me, I got this in the training section of career mode by driving the car into a ditch which then made it roll onto its side while I was trying to regain full control of the car. Another way of getting the Stuntman trophy is to drive up a banked section found at the side of most stages and then let the car naturally roll onto its side. Either way, once you have successfully rolled the car your Trophy will unlock.

WRC 8 Scatterbrain trophy
PlayStation Silver Trophy

Scatterbrain
Win a Stage with a car that has not been repaired (when repairs are available and the car has been damaged)

In order to get a service area you need to take part in a multi-stage rally so I suggest you do this in career mode as the majority of the trophies in WRC 8 are based within career mode. In a career rally, you take part in 2-3 stages before each service area so your first aim is to complete those first couple of stages with minimal damage so your car is still in good condition, then when in the service area proceed to the next stage.

The game will produce an on-screen prompt informing you that no repairs have taken place so you want to ignore this message and proceed to the next stage now you have to win the stage which is why it’s important for minimal damage so the car still runs normally. Now go on to win the next stage, if you make too many mistakes simply pause the game and restart the stage until you succeed in winning. Once you do win the stage your Trophy will unlock.

WRC 8 Challenger trophy
PlayStation Bronze Trophy

Challenger
Win a first Stage in online Multiplayer mode

The good news is this is only online trophy in WRC 8 and can be done in any of the online modes using any of the cars and stages in the game. So from the online menu choose create lobby and select any stage and the car class you feel comfortable with, WRC 8 is the latest release in the series so online is still active and has players actively searching for online races so wait for someone to join the lobby. When someone has joined it’s just a matter of both you and the opponent readying up before the stage starts. Go on and win the stage which as you have chosen the car class and stage puts you at a slight advantage as the host. You still have to win so if you fail to win simply start another online race until you get that win, with the win in the bag your Trophy will unlock.

That’s the WRC 8 Trophy Guide complete I hope it helps you through the game.
