Celestial Pear Seed
Location: The New West.
As you progress through The New West you will see several Pear trees growing in and around the snow. Harvest them as you go where you will eventually receive a Celestial Pear Seed. Counts towards Seeds to Sow.
Golden Lotus Seed
Location: The New West.
As you progress through The New West you will see, in various locations, stem plants which are taller than your character and will fire pollen at you as well as spinning around to hit you. Destroy as many plants as you can until you receive a Golden Lotus Seed. Counts towards Seeds to Sow.
Gentian Seed
Location: The New West.
As you progress through The New West you will see white flowers growing vertically from the ground which can be hard to see given the snowy backdrop but once you know what you’re looking for they will be easy to find. Harvest Gentian throughout The New West until you receive a Gentian Seed. Counts towards Seeds to Sow.
Tree Pearl Seed
Location: The New West.
As you progress through The New West you will see tress which will have white flowers on them which can be tough to see with the white background, look for the tree stem and the distorted glow which will help help you find the trees then once you know what you’re looking for keep harvest Tree Pearl until you receive a Tree Pearl Seed. Counts towards Seeds to Sow.

You will be able to craft the Monastic Insect Hat once you take down the Fuban boss in the Kingdom of Sahali during Yellow Wind Ridge, however, you won’t have the required materials until you purchase them at the first Shrine in The New West. Counts towards Mantled with Might.

Macaque Chief Boss
Location: The New West, Snowhill Path, Frost-Clad Path.
Proceed through to the opening where the Macaque Chief boss will ambush you. Take it down to 80% health which will then make the Macaque Chief disappear. Refer to the Macaque Chief (First Encounter) boss guide.
Mountain Patroller Spirit
Location: The New West, Snowhill Path, Frost-Clad Path.
Go pass the Macaque Chief then continue along the path where you will find the Mountain Patroller. As long as you have the Falcon Eyes Relic equipped the Mountain Patroller will be glowing blue. Defeat him and any enemies in the local area which then allows you to absorb the Mountain Patroller Spirit. Counts towards Fickle Forms.
Meditation Spot
Location: The New West, Snowhill Path, Mirrormere.
Go to the shore from the Mirrormere Shrine where you will find the Mediation Spot overlooking the frozen lake. Counts towards Scenic Seeker.
Mani Band Curios
Location: The New West, Snowhill Path, Mirrormere.
Go to the area on the left of the Mirrormere Shrine where several frozen enemies will reanimate when you get close. Keep defeating them, resting at the Shrine then defeating them some more until one of them drops the Mani Band Curios which will be added to your inventory as soon as you defeat the correct enemy. Counts towards A Curious Collection.
Kang-Jin Loong Boss
Location: The New West, Snowhill Path, Mirrormere.
Go out on to the frozen lake to initiate the fight against the tough Kang-Jin Loong boss who will be easier to take down if you use the Pillar Stance to avoid the lightning along the ground. Refer to the Kang-Jin Loong boss guide.
Starlit Cloud-Bidden Antler
Location: The New West, Snowhill Path, Mirrormere.
You will receive the Starlit Cloud-Bidden Antler once you have defeated the Kang-Jin Loong boss. Counts towards Staffs and Spears.
Craft Kang-Jin Staff
Location: The New West, Pagoda Realm, Lower Pagoda.
Requirements: Craft at Shrine.
Cost: x4 Refined Irson Sand, x8 Yaoguai Core, x1 Starlit Cloud-Bidden Antler, x21,000 Will.
You can craft the Kang-Jin Staff at the Shrine once the Kang-Jin Loong boss has been defeated. Counts towards Staffs and Spears.
Begin Prisoner Quest
Location: The New West, Pagoda Realm, Lower Pagoda.
From the Lower Pagoda Shrine, go left to the cell with the Purple Seal on then speak to the officer inside to begin the Prisoner Quest which will task you with taking out the Captain lotus-Vision boss then loot 4 Gold Spirits.
Stranded Loong's Whisker Soak
Location: The New West, Snowhill Path, Mirrormere.
Fast travel back to the Mirrormere Shrine then go to the top right corner of the frozen lake to find a table with a small chest on top inside of which will be the Stranded Loong’s Whisker Soak. Counts towards Brewer’s Bounty.
Auspicious Lantern Curios
Location: The New West, Pagoda Realm.
The Auspicious Lantern Curios is a highly missable Curios but only if you take down the Captain-Wise Voice boss before you get the Auspicious Lantern. As you go through the Pagoda Realm every so often the whole Prison will enter an “enraged state” where your health bar is halved, your eyes go red and everyone’s attacks are a lot stronger including yours and the enemies so you have to be careful. The enraged state will last around 90 seconds and will occur every 3 minutes so wait if needs be to re enter the enraged state which makes the Lanterns reappear.
During the enraged state there will be 7 Lantern enemies who appear, they will only be present whilst the enraged state. 2 on the Lower Pagoda, ground floor, another 2 are on the Lower Pagoda first floor, the fifth Lantern enemy can be found before you reach the Upper Pagoda Shrine. 3 more Lanterns are on the floor after the Upper Pagoda Shrine and the final Lantern is found by going up out of the prison, drop down to the lower area by going forward pass the Flying enemy, go to the end and defeat the final Lantern to receive the Auspicious Lantern Curios. Counts towards A Curious Collection.
Fine China Tea Bowl Curios
Location: The New West, Pagoda Realm, Lower Pagoda.
Requirements: Loot from Chest.
Make your way around the Lower Pagoda all the way taking everything out as you go to the section with the broken rocks. Look to the left of the area to find an altar with a small chest that holds the Fina China Tea Curios. Counts towards A Curious Collection.
Captain Lotus-Vision Boss
Location: The New West Pagoda Realm, Upper Pagoda.
Rest at the Upper Pagoda Realm Shrine then ensure the rage state (where your eyes go red and the Lanterns appear) has just finished which means you have around 3 minutes until it happens again. Turn around and carefully drop down into the opening using the rooftop to mantle down to the arena, engage and defeat the Captain Lotus-Vision boss. Refer to the Captain Lotus-Vision boss guide.
Frostsprout Twig Curios
Location: The New West, Pagoda Realm, Upper Pagoda.
You will receive the Frostsprout Twig Curios once the Captain Lotus-Vision boss has been defeated. Counts towards A Curious Collection.
The Spirit Of Captain Lotus-Vision
Location: The New West, Pagoda Realm, Upper Pagoda.
Once the Captain Lotus-Vision boss has been defeated ensure you absorb the Captain Lotus-Vision for the Prisoner Quest.
Ashen Slumber Transformation
Location: The New Wheel, Pagoda Realm, Lower Pagoda.
Go back down to the Lower Pagoda Shrine and head back to the Prisoner’s spell. With the Captain Lotus-Vision boss defeated you can enter cell, pull the sword from the back of the corpse to the right of the cell to receive the Ashen Slumber Transformation. Counts towards Fickle Forms.
Enslaved Yaksha Spirit
Location: The New West, Pagoda Realm, Upper Pagoda.
Ensure you have defeated the Captain Lotus-Vision boss as this removes all of the Purple Seals from the Pagoda Realm, cross the wooden beam then smash open the cell door to your left and defeated the Enslaved Yaksha enemy which enables you to absorb the Enslaved Yaksha Spirit. Counts towards Fickle Forms.
Fungiman Spirit
Location: The New West, Pagoda Realm, Upper Pagoda.
Open the map then go to the section on the North side of the stairs whilst on the Upper Pagoda level of the Pagoda Realm. There will be a Snake-Headed Mushroom there you can loot, be careful though as this will be a tough enemy who you can defeat which allows you to absorb the Fungiman Spirit. Just be careful of the Venom Bane. Counts towards Fickle Forms.
Awakening Wine Worm 2
Location: The New West, Pagoda Realm, Upper Pagoda.
Go up and out of the Prison to the snow covered area, take out the frozen enemy to your left then go right. Drop down from the cliff to the area below once you have taken out the flying enemy. Go clockwise around the Prison then look to your left once the area opens up to see the golden glow around the urn inside of which will be the 2nd Awakening Wine Worm in The New West.
Blade Monk Spirit
Location: The New West, Pagoda Realm, Upper Pagoda.
Just next to where you collected Awakening Wine Worm 2 you will see the Blade Monk. Take him down then absorb the Spirit which drops. Counts towards Fickle Forms.
Captain Wise-Voice boss
Location: The New West, Pagoda Realm, Mani Wheel.
Note: Before you enter the arena from the Mani Wheel Shrine ensure you have acquired the Auspicious Lantern Curios.
Once you have the Auspicious Lantern Curios enter the boss arena and take down the Captain Wise-Voice boss. Refer to the Captain Wise-Voice boss guide.
The Spirit Of Captain Wise-Voice
Location: The New West, Pagoda Realm, Mani Wheel.
Once the Captain Wise-Voice boss is defeated ensure you absorb the Spirit of Captain Wise-Voice.
Luojia Fragrant Vine
Location: The New West, Pagoda Realm, Outside the Wheel.
Head over to the left from the Outside the Wheel Shrine where you will see the 2nd Luojia Fragrant Vine in The New West hanging down from the tree.
Celestial Taiyi Pill
Location: The New West, Pagoda Realm, Outside the Wheel.
Go forward along the snowy path from the Outside the Wheel Shrine where you will come to a table where the Celestial Taiyi Pill can be collected from the small chest. Counts towards Medicine Meal.
Meditation Spot 2
Location: The New West, Pagoda Realm, Outside the Wheel.
Collect the Celestial Taiyi Pill then smash the wooden fence behind the table then smash through the wooden fence. Go through the canyon to the open area, take out all of the enemies then use the Meditation Spot. Counts towards Scenic Seeker.
Falcon Hermit Spirit
Location: The New West, Pagoda Realm, Snow-Veiled Trail.
Go to the top of the hill following the path left from the Snow-Veiled Trail Shrine taking out the enemies as you go. At the top, go round to the right then look to the rock overlooking the frozen lake where the Falcon Hermit will spawn in. This version is a lot stronger than the other similar enemies you have faced to this point so be prepared for a tough fight. Absorb the Falcon Hermit Spirit once you have defeated the enemy. Counts towards Fickle Forms.
Macaque Chief Boss 2
Location: The New West, Pagoda Realm, Warding Temple.
Enter the main courtyard of the Warding Temple which will initiate the fight against the Macaque Chief 2 boss. Defeat him again. Refer to the Macaque Chief (second encounter) boss guide.
Speak With Yuan Soucheng
Location: The New West, Pagoda Realm, Warding Temple.
Once the 2nd Macaque Chief Boss has been defeated a cutscene will trigger where you will speak Yuan Soucheng. Counts towards Always Accompanied.
Ring Of Fire Spell
Location: The New West, Pagoda Realm, Warding Temple.
Once the 2nd Macaque Chief boss has been defeated you will speak to the Old Man who will then gift you the Ring of Fire Spell. Counts towards Master of Magic.
Kang-Jin Star Boss
Location: The New West, Bitter Lake, Turtle Island.
Follow the path from the Warding Temple Shrine then after the cutscene you will be in a fight with the Kang-Jin Star boss. Defeat her. Refer to the Kang-Jin Star boss guide.
Loong Pearl
Location: The New West, Bitter Lake, Turtle Island.
You will receive the Loong Pearl once you have taken down the Kang-Jin Star boss.
Craft Loongscale Battlerobe Chest Armour
Location: The New West, Bitter Lake, Turtle Island.
Requirements: Craft at Shrine.

You can craft the Loongscale Battlerobe Chest Armour at the Shrine once the Kang-Jin Star boss has been defeated. Counts towards Mantled with Might.

You can craft the Loongscale Greaves Leg Armour at the Shrine once the Kang-Jin Star boss has been defeated. Counts towards Mantled with Might.
Celestial Jade Lotus Pill
Location: The New West, Bitter Lake, Turtle Island.
Face the Turtle Island Shrine then go West (left) then drop down to the lower level where you will find a table with a chest containing the Celestial Jade Lotus Pill. Counts towards Medicine Meal.
Cyan Loong Boss
Location: The New West, Bitter Lake, Turtle Island.
The Cyan Loong boss can be found on the East side of Turtle Island from the Bitter Lake Shrine and will be a statue until you approach as long as you have the Loong Scales from Yellow Wind Ridge in your inventory. Cyan Loong is a tough opponent so come back later if needs be but either way, defeat him. Counts towards The Sire and Sons. Refer to the Cyan Loong boss guide.
Mountain-Shaking Claw
Location: The New West, Bitter Lake, Turtle Island.
You will receive the Mountain-Shaking Claw as a reward for defeating the Cyan Loong boss. Counts towards Staffs and Spears.
Breath of Fire Soak
Location: The New West, Bitter Lake, Turtle Island.
You will receive the Breath of Fire Soak as a reward for defeating the Cyan Loong boss. Counts towards Brewer’s Bounty.
Loong Pearl 2
Location: The New West, Bitter Lake, Turtle Island.
You will receive the 2nd Loong Pearl as a reward for defeating the Cyan Loong boss. Counts towards Staffs and Spears.
Apramana Bat Boss
Missable.
Location: The New West, Bitter Lake, North Shore of the Bitter Lake.
The Apramana Bat boss can be found on the Eastern side of the North Shore of the Bitter Lake, however, you need to defeat the Apramana Bat boss before Zhu Bajie leaves your party as even after it has been defeated the Bat will fly down the trail you slide down having defeated the Non-White boss. Refer to the Apramana Bat boss guide.
Turtle Tear Soak
Location: The New West, Bitter Lake, North Shore of the Bitter Lake.
Once you have defeated the Apramana Bat boss you will be able to interact with a large skeleton at the back of the arena. This will cause the Turtle to shed a green tear which you can pick up. This will be the Turtle Tear Soak. Counts towards Brewer’s Bounty.
Chen Loong Boss
Location: The New West, Bitter Lake, North Shore of the Bitter Lake.
Go to the West side of the Shore following the beach round where you will come to the Chen Loong boss. Defeat him. Refer to the Chen Loong boss guide.
Speak With The Treasure Hunter
Location: The New West, Bitter Lake, North Shore of the Bitter Lake.
Make your way West from the North Shore of the Bitter Lake Shrine then defeat the enemies ambushing the NPC, once they’re all down speak to the Treasure Hunter who we will come back to later in the walkthrough.
Bluebridge Romance Drink
Location: The New West, Bitter Lake, North Shore of the Bitter Lake.
The Bluebridge Romance Drink can be found by going as far West as you can go from the North Shore of the Bitter Lake Shrine then crossing the small frozen lake to the table where the Drink can be found. Counts towards Brewer’s Bounty.
Chen Loong Quest
Location: The New West, Bitter Lake, North Shore of the Bitter Lake.
The Chen Loong quest is a short one, however, it is a highly recommended one as it gets you through to the Zodiac Village. Once the Chen Loong boss has been defeated speak with him where he will ask for a resurrection Pill from Xu Dog who you can find in the Cellar. Return to Chen Loong then activate the Ruyi Scroll to complete the quest. Refer to the Chen Loong quest.
Ruyi Scroll
Location: The New West, Bitter Lake, North Shore of the Bitter Lake.
You will gain access to the Ruyi Scroll once you have completed Chen Loongs quest. This makes travel to the Zodiac Village possible.
Enter Zodiac Village
Location: The New West, Bitter Lake, North Shore of the Bitter Lake.
With Chen Loong’s Quest complete you will automatically enter the Zodiac Village, if you need to go back there open the map whilst in The New West then press Triangle or travel to the Ruyi Scroll> Zodiac Village biome from a Shrine.
Awkening Wine Worm (Zodiac Village)
Location: The New West, Zodiac Village.
Requirements: Purchase from Shen Monkey.
Cost: x1,500 Will.
You can purchase the Awakening Wine Worm from Shen Monkey once you have access to the Zodiac Village.
Luojia Fragrant Vine (Zodiac Village)
Location: The New West, Zodiac Village.
Requirements: Purchase from Shen Monkey.
Cost: x2,000 Will.
You can purchase the Luojia Fragrant Vine from Shen Monkey once you have access to the Zodiac Village.
Unlock Happy Harvest
Location: The New West, Ruyi Scroll, Zodiac Village.
Once you have access to the Zodiac Village go to the building behind the Shrine and speak with Chen Loong. As long as you have been following along with this walkthrough as well as Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 you will have hopefully acquired some Seeds. Speak to Chen Loong and offer him the Seeds then go off and do some more of the game, come back an hour or so later where you can then speak to Chen Loong again where you can harvest the plants unlock Happy Harvest.
Speak To Yin Tiger
Location: The New West, Ruyi Scroll, Zodiac Village.
Go to the Blacksmith in the back left of the Zodiac Village and speak with Yin Tiger which will unlock armour upgrades as well as you being able to challenge the Blacksmith and purchase items.
Unlock Pound And Perfect
Location: The New West, Ruyi Scroll, Zodiac Village.
To unlock Pound and Perfect you will need to upgrade any piece of armour you have that is currently upgradable by speaking with Yin Tiger then choosing Upgrades. It won’t matter which piece of armour you upgrade or whether you equip it or not, simply upgrading an Armour piece will unlock Pound and Perfect.
Meditation Spot 3
Location: The New West, Bitter Lake, Precept Corridor.
Go halfway down the hill from the Precept Corridor Shrine and look to your left where you will see the Meditation Spot. Counts towards Scenic Seeker.
Enhanced Tiger Subduing Pellets
Location: The New West, Bitter Lake, Precept Corridor.
Starting from the Precept Corridor Shrine, go down the hill to the end of the path rather than taking a right to find the chest which contains the Enhanced Tiger Subduing Pellets. Counts towards Page Preserver.
Red-Haired Yaksha Spirit
Location: The New West, Bitter Lake, Precept Corridor.
Follow the path round to the Buddha where Zhu Bajie leaves you party where you will find the Red-Haired Yaksha blocking your path. Defeat him then absorb the Spirit.
Non-White First Encounter
Location: The New West, Valley of Ecstasy, Mindfulness Cliff.
Head up the slope from the Mindfulness Cliff Shrine where you will be ambushed by the Non-White boss. Remove 3 quarters of his health bar to end the fight causing him to run off.
Fiery Gourd
Location: The New West, Valley of Ecstasy, Mindfulness Cliff.
The Fiery Gourd is in a hidden set of passage ways you can easily miss if you didn’t know they were there so start from the Mindfulness Cliff Shrine go up the hill then right dropping down to the ledge behind the tree then go around and drop down onto the collapsed pillar. You can then follow the path round to a cavern where you will find a chest to your right which holds the Fiery Gourd.
Skandha Of Thought
Location: The New West, Valley of Ecstasy, Mindfulness Cliff.
Once you have the Fiery Gourd continue following the oath the only way you can where you will find a Buddhas Head statue you can extract the Skandha of Thought from. Counts towards unlocking the Giant Shigandang boss.
Maitreya's Orb Curios
Location: The New West, Valley of Ecstasy, Mindfulness Cliff.
After defeating the Non-White boss in the first encounter, follow him up the ramp then go through into the second cavern, defeat all enemies in the local area then loot the chest on your left to find the Maitreya’s Orb Curios. Counts towards A Curious Collection.
Non-White Boss
Location: The New West, Valley of Ecstasy, Mindfulness Cliff.
The Non-White boss is a mandatory story boss and is a challenge as he utilises both Freeze and Venom banes meaning setting up for the fight can be challenging. Ensure you are agile and have your beast gear / staff and a Spirit such as the Wandering Wight or Second Rath Prince equipped to help knock the boss down allowing you to punish until he’s down for good. Refer to the Non-White boss guide.
Non-White Spirit
Location: The New West, Valley of Ecstasy, Mindfulness Cliff.
With the Non-White boss defeated ensure you absorb the Non-White Spirit. Counts towards Fickle Forms.
Meditation Spot 4
Location: The New West, Valley of Ecstasy, Mindfulness Cliff.
With the Non-White boss defeated look to the back wall of the arena to find the Meditation Spot in front of the cliff face. Counts towards Scenic Seeker.
Lang-Li-Guhh-Lang Boss
Location: The New West, Valley of Ecstasy, Forest of Felicity.
Rest at the Forest of Felicity Shrine then go through the opening opposite the Shrine to a frozen lake where the Lang-Li-Guhh-Lang boss will be waiting for you. This Frog utilises frost attacks and causes large AOE blasts and crystal explosions which can be hard to avoid. Oh, it can also eat you so try and avoid that one then lay the Amphibian to rest. Refer to the Lang-Li-Guhh-Lang boss guide. Counts towards A Clamor of Frogs.
Non-Able Boss
Location: The New West, Valley of Ecstasy, Brook of Bliss.
The Non-Able boss is an optional boss and one who can be a challenge as he is a 2 tier boss who can be found by going left up the hill from the Shrine then round to the right to the open area where he will be waiting to kick you back to the Shrine. You need to firstly defeat him whilst he literally has his hands tied behind back then in the 2nd fight you will face the full force of those ear lobes which can prove challenging. Refer to the Non-Able boss guide.
Non-Able Spirit
Location: The New West, Valley of Ecstasy, Brook of Bliss.
Once the Non-Able boss has been defeated ensure you collect the Non-Able Spirit before leaving the area. Counts towards Fickle Forms.
Crow Diviner Spirit
Location: The New West, Valley of Ecstasy, Brook of Bliss.
The Crow Diviner is a warrior who will be waiting for you on the frozen lake and to find it you can face the Brook of Bliss shrine then turn around, crossing the bridge taking out the enemies as you go before going down the hill and taking a right onto the lake. Engage and defeat the Crow Diviner whose Spirit you can then absorb.
Old Ginseng Guai Boss
Location: The New West, Valley of Ecstasy, Towers of Karma.
The Old Ginseng Guai boss can be found by going behind the Towers of Karma Shrine and trying to harvest the Ginseng coming out from the middle of the small frozen lake. Defeat it. Refer to the Old Ginseng Guai boss guide.
Ginseng Cape Chest Armour
Location: The New West, Valley of Ecstasy, Towers of Karma.
You will receive the Ginseng Cape Chest Armour as a reward for defeating the Old Ginseng Guai boss. Counts towards Mantled with Might.
Millennium Ginseng Seed
Location: The New West, Valley of Ecstasy, Towers of Karma.
You will receive the Millennium Ginseng Seed as a reward for defeating the Old Ginseng Guai boss. Counts towards Seeds to Sow.
Old Ginseng Guai Spirit
Location: The New West, Valley of Ecstasy, Towers of Karma.
You will be able to absorb the Old Ginseng Guai Spirit once the Old Ginseng Guai boss has been defeated. Counts towards Fickle Forms.
Jade Essence Drink
Location: The New West, Valley of Ecstasy, Towers of Karma.
Go behind the statue at the back of the arena where you fought and defeated the Old Ginseng Guai boss where you can collect the Jade Essence Drink from the table. Counts towards Brewer’s Bounty.
Treasure Hunter Quest
Location: The New West, Valley of Ecstasy, Towers of Karma.
You will have started the Treasure Hunter Quest in the Western Side of the North Shore of the Bitter Lake biome providing you have been following along with this walkthrough (refer to Speak with the Treasure Hunter). You can then equip the Ring of Fire Spell to warm him up where he will then go to the Watermelon Field biome. Completing the Treasure Hunter quest will see you take down a boss and receive an incredibly powerful spell if you favour a melee style playthrough above all else.
Green-Capped Martialist Boss
Location: The New West, Valley of Ecstasy, Watermelon Field.
You will be able to find and fight the Green-Capped Martialist boss in the Watermelon Field which is accessible by dropping down from the end of the frozen lakes from the Brook of Bliss Shrine, platform your way down the enter the cavern. Defeat this fire based frisbee lover.
Spell Binder Spell
Location: The New West, Valley of Ecstasy, Watermelon Field.
You will receive the Spell Binder Spell as a reward during the cutscene once the Green-Capped Martialist boss has been defeated. Counts towards Master of Magic.
Bronze Buddha Pendant Curios
Location: The New West, Valley of Ecstasy, Longevity Road.
Requirements: Farm Wolf Guardians.
The Bronze Buddha Pendant Curios is a Curios you need to farm specific enemies for in order to acquire it. The enemies you need to take down are Wolf Guardians, 3 of which can be found by going back the way you came from the Longevity Road Shrine (it’s closer than the Forest of Felicity), take out the Wolf Guardian on your left sitting on the rocks then go through the gate and defeat the next 2 Wolf Guardians. Repat the process until 1 of them drops the Bronze Buddha Curios. Counts towards A Curious Collection.
Gold Spikeplate Curios
Location: The New West, Valley of Ecstasy, Longevity Road.
Go North East out into the wilderness from the Longevity Road Shrine where you will come across a Giant Overlord. Defeat him to receive the incredibly useful Gold Spikeplate Curios. Counts towards A Curious Collection.
Turtle Treasure
Location: The New West, Valley of Ecstasy, Longevity Road.
Starting from the Longevity Road Shrine, go North East where you will come across the rare Turtle Treasure enemy. Defeat it.
Awakening Wine Worm 3
Location: The New West, Valley of Ecstasy, Longevity Road.
Once you have defeated the Turtle Treasure enemy, look behind the area to see the glowing urn which holds the Awakening Wine Worm up on a wooden platform.
Luojia Fragrant Vine 4
Location: The New West, Valley of Ecstasy, Longevity Road.
Again, starting back at the Longevity Road purely to get your bearings, go off North East to the raised section where 2 Falcon Hermits will spawn and ambush you, put them down by any means necessary then loot the Luojia Fragrant Vine from the tree.
Captain Kalpa-Wave Boss
Location: The New West, Valley of Ecstasy, Longevity Road.
Proceed through the area from the Longevity Road Shrine to the red web which upon approaching will form the Captain Kalpa-Wave boss. Defeat her. Refer to the Captain Kalpa-Wave boss guide.
The Spirit Of Captain Kalpa-Wave
Location: The New West, Valley of Ecstasy, Longevity Road.
Once the Captain Kalpa-Wave boss has been defeated, absorb the Spirit of Captain Kalpa-Wave which you can take back the Third Prince (prisoner) in the Pagoda Realm. Counts towards Staffs and Spears.
Return To Prisoner
Location: The New West, Pagoda Realm, Lower Pagoda.
Fast travel back to the Pagoda Realm, Lower Pagoda Shrine then go left and into the cell where the Third Prince can be spoken to. Exhaust all dialogue then as long as you have the 4 Captain Spirits you will receive the Chubai Spearhead as a reward as well as conclude the prisoner quest. Counts towards Staffs and Spears.
Chubai Spearhead
Location: The New West, Pagoda Realm, Lower Pagoda.
You will receive the Chubai Spearhead as a reward from the Third Prince in the Pagoda Realm for having returned all 4 Spirits to him throughout the prisoner quest. Counts towards Staffs and Spears.
Craft Chu-Bai Spear
Location: The New West, Pagoda Realm, Lower Pagoda.
Requirements: Craft at Shrine.
Cost: Chubai Spearhead, x4 Refined Iron Sand, x8 Yaoguai Core, x21,000 Will.
You can craft the Chu-Bai Spear at the Shrine once you have acquired the Chubai Spearhead as well as having the other materials. Counts towards Staffs and Spears.
Beast Buddha Curios
Location: The New West, New Thunderclap Temple, Temple Entrance.
The Beast Buddha Curios is a rare drop from Twin Blade Monks one of which can be farmed from the Temple Entrance Shrine. Keep defeating the Twin Blade Monk until you receive the Beast Buddha Curios. Counts towards A Curious Collection.
See No Evil Headgear Armour
Location: The New West, New Thunderclap Temple, Temple Entrance.
The See No Evil Headgear Armour is a rare drop from Blind Monks in the New Thunderclap Temple with a good farming spot being to the right and inside of the building just by the Temple Entrance Shrine. Continue to defeat the Blind Monks until one of them drops the See No Evil Headgear Armour. Counts towards Mantled with Might.
Thunderflame Seal Curios
Location: The New West, New Thunderclap Temple. Temple Entrance.
The Thunderflame Seal Curios is a rare drop from the Thunder Rhino Masters who fire lightning at you in the New Thunderclap Temple and the best farming spot I found is to go through the first building from the Temple Entrance Shrine then go to the right staircase, defeat the 2 Mages then go to the left staircase and defeat the next 2. You can then go up the stairs, use Immobilize on the brute then defeat the next 2 Mages. Repeat this process until you receive the Thunderflame Seal Curios. Counts towards A Curious Collection.
Thunderstone Curios
Location: The New West, New Thunderclap Temple, Temple Entrance.
Go through the first building from the Temple Entrance Shrine, up the stairs then into the next building you come to. Defeat the Blind Monks and the Twin Blade Monk if he aggros then loot the chest on the table leading out the back of the building to receive the Thunderstone Curios. Counts towards A Curious Collection.
Clay Vajra Spirit
Location: The New West, New Thunderclap Temple, Temple Entrance.
You will need to defeat the Clay Vajra who can be found behind the second building in New Thunderclap Temple, he will be in plain sight standing on the main path. Defeat him then absorb the Clay Vajra Spirit. Counts towards Fickle Forms.
Vajra Armguard Arm Armour
Location: The New West, New Thunderclap Temple, Temple Entrance.
The Vajra Armguard is a rare drop from Clay Vajra enemies one of who can be found by going over to the right side of the New Thunderclap Temple and will be a lot easier to defeat if you take out the Thunder Rhino Masters up on the left side of the courtyard. Continue to defeat the Clay Vajra until you receive the Vajra Armguard Arm Armour. Counts towards Mantled with Might.
Sweet Ice Soak
Location: The New West, New Thunderclap Temple, Temple Entrance.
You will be able to acquire the Sweet Ice Soak by going through to the right side of the New Thunderclap Temple where you can also find the Clay Vajra, go up the stairs then back down the staircase on your right, go to the gazebo and defeat the Wolf Guardian where you can then open the chest on your left which holds the Sweet Ice Soak. Counts towards Brewer’s Bounty.
Monk From The Sea Boss
Location: The New West, New Thunderclap Temple, Temple Entrance.
The Monk from the Sea boss is an optional one you can find by going directly right from the Temple Entrance Shrine, go up the slope then go round to the right then left through the gate. If you look over to your left you will see a well which when approached will initiate the fight against the Monk from the Sea boss who you need to defeat. Refer to the Monk from the Sea boss guide.
Hoarfrost Transformation
Location: The New West, New Thunderclap Temple, Temple Entrance.
You will be able to absorb the Hoarfrost Transformation from the corpse of the Monk from the Sea boss. Counts towards Fickle Forms.
Ma Tianba
Location: The New West, New Thunderclap Temple, Temple Entrance.
As long as you have been following along with our Chapter 1 walkthrough and the Chapter 2 walkthrough you will have already spoken with Ma Tianba twice and to find him a third time you need to go over to the left side of the Thunderclap Temple, go up through the building pass the Blind Monks then take a left across the bridge. Ma Tianba will be leaning against the pillar on the left side of the bridge, speak with him ensuring you exhaust all dialogue. Counts towards Urge Unfulfilled.
Trailblazers Scarlet Gourd
Location: The New West, New Thunderclap Temple, Temple Entrance.
Once you have spoken with Ma Tianba and have exhausted all dialogue you will receive the Trailblazers Scarlet Gourd. Counts towards Brewer’s Bounty.
Body-Fleeting Powder
Location: The New West, New Thunderclap Temple, Temple Entrance.
Starting back from the Temple Entrance Shrine, go back to where you spoke with Ma Tianba then go to the end of the bridge where you will find a chest on the table which holds the Body-Fleeting Powder Formula. Counts towards Page Preserver.
Celestial Nonary Pill
Location: The New West, New Thunderclap Temple, Temple Entrance.
If we start back from the Temple Entrance Shrine so you can get your bearings, go forward then left running up through the building with the Blind Monks then turn right and run up the slope. Go out into the ice field to the end of the frozen river where you will be ambushed by at least 2 Wolf Guardians and possibly some other enemies depending on how stealthy you were on the approach. Defeat all of the enemies in the local area then loot the chest on the table to receive the Celestial Nonary Pill. Counts towards Medicine Meal.
Yin Tiger Boss
Location: The New West, Ruyi Scroll, Zodiac Village.
Yin Tiger is an incredibly tough boss and one who you can take down when you first get to the boss earlier in the chapter, however, I recommend taking Yin Tiger on once you have taken every other boss down except for the Yellowbrow boss who finishes up The New West. Ensure you have our best gear and Spells equipped then defeat Yin Tiger. Refer to the Yin Tiger boss guide.
Ebon Flow Transformation
Location: The New West, Ruyi Scroll, Zodiac Village.
You will receive the Ebon Flow Transformation once the Yin Tiger boss has been defeated. Counts towards Fickle Forms.
Unlock 3rd Curios Slot
Location: The New West, Ruyi Scroll, Zodiac Village.
Once you have defeated the Yin Tiger boss speak with him again to unlock a very useful 3rd Curios Slot.
Snow Fox Brush
Location: The New West, Valley of Ecstasy, Forest of Felicity.
Fast travel back to the Valley of Ecstasy, Forest of Felicity Shrine and speak with the corpse to the left of the shrine slumped by the wooden beams. Exhaust all dialogue options where you will then receive the Snow Fox Brush which turns you into a Blood-Covered Snow Fox. Refer to the Bloody Snow Fox quest.
Snow Fox Quest
Location: The New West, Valley of Ecstasy, Forest of Felicity.
Now that you can become the Snow Fox, make your back over to the New Thunderclap Temple, go through the first building then follow the path up and around to the highest building on the left side of the Temple. Ensure you are the Snow Fox before entering the building which will initiate the boss fight against the Non-Void boss. Refer to the Bloody Snow Fox quest.
Non-Void Boss
Location: The New West, New Thunderclap Temple, Temple Entrance.
Ensure you have the Snow Fox Brush then enter the building on the highest level on the left side of the Thunderclap Temple which will iniate a cut-scene against triggering the optional Non-Void boss fight. Defeat him. Refer to the Non-Void boss guide.
Non-Void Spirit
Location: The New West, New Thunderclap Temple, Temple Entrance.
Once you have defeated the Non-Void boss ensure you absorb the Non-Void Spirit. Counts towards Fickle Forms.
Snow Fox Brush Curios
Location: The New West, Valley of Ecstasy, Forest of Felicity.
With the Non-Void boss defeated you can then return to the corpse in the Forest of Felicity, speak to it to receive the Snow Fox Brush Curios. Counts towards A Curious Collection.
Non-Pure Boss
Location: The New West, New Thunderclap Temple, Mahavira Hall.
Go back down the stairs from the Mahavira Shrine then if you haven’t taken down the Overlords either do so or use Cloud Step to safely run pass them and go into the building which will now be on your left where you will come to the optional Non-Pure boss. Defeat him. Refer to the Non-Pure boss guide.
Non-Pure Spirit
Location: The New West, New Thunderclap Temple, Mahavira Hall.
You will be able to absorb the Non-Pure Spirit once the Non-Pure boss has been defeated. Counts towards Fickle Forms.
Meditation Spot 5
Location: The New West, New Thunderclap Temple, Mahavira Hall.
You will firstly need to take down the Non-Pure boss where you can then look to the floor at the back of the room to find this Meditation Spot. Counts towards Scenic Seeker.
Yellowbrow Boss
Location: The New West, New Thunderclap Temple, Mahavira Hall.
Yellowbrow is a powerful multiple stage fight which will see you needing to go through an entire biome taking down multiple versions of Yellowbrow, finish off the Macaque Chief then go back to the Yellowbrow boss who can be tough to bring down. Ensure you are appropriately geared and levelled before going through to the fight though as for me at least I couldn’t leave the Temple until Yellowbrow was down.
Cosmo Radiance
Location: The New West, New Thunderclap Temple, Mahavira Hall.
You will receive the Cosmo Radiance item once Yellowbrow is defeated which you can use to craft the Spikeshaft Staff. Counts towards Staffs and Spears.
Apramana Bat Spirit
Location: The New West, New Thunderclap Temple, Mahavira Hall.
You will receive the Apramana Bat Spirit during the end of the, The New West chapter once Yellowbrow has been defeated. Counts towards Fickle Forms.
Umbral Abyss Transformation
Location: The New West, New Thunderclap Temple, Mahavira Hall.
You will receive the Umbral Abyss Transformation as you conclude The New West having defeated the Yellowbrow boss. Counts towards Fickle Forms.
